Briarbinds Void Warlock Build in Destiny 2
Briarbinds are Exotic Warlock gloves added as part of Season of the Witch. These are perfect for Void Warlocks and allow you to control your void souls created when you lay down your rifts. Void souls increase in damage, plus you can pick them up and deploy them multiple times. Today I am going to run through a Warlock Void build with Briarbinds, I’ll go through the aspects, fragments, weapons and mods, to show you how to create a devastating void build, that drains the life from all your enemies.
Briarbinds are powerful exotic gloves, which compete with Nezarec’s Sin regarding Warlock Void builds. This is all down to the exotic perk One with the Void – Your Void Souls have a longer duration. They also gain escalating damage and durability as they defeat targets. You can retrieve your Void Souls by interacting with them, allowing them to be redeployed. Paired with the right weapons and mods, this is a very good build that’s going to cause huge damage to opponents, and through Devour, you’ll be kept alive for longer.
Void subclass setup
Super – Nova Bomb Vortex
Class – Empowering Rift
Melee – Pocket Singularity
Grenade – Vortex
Aspects
Child of the Old Gods – Cast your rift to create a Void Soul. When you damage a target with a weapon, your Void Soul flies to them and drains them, doing damage and weakening them. When a target is being drained, you are granted grenade and melee energy (if running healing rift) or health (if running empowering rift). Defeating a target who is being drained by your Void Soul grants class ability energy.
Chaos Accelerant – Increases the size and linger duration of Vortex Grenades.
Fragments
Echo of Starvation – Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power grants Devour.
Echo of Instability – Defeating Targets with grenades grants volatile rounds to your void weapons
Echo of Undermining – You Void grenades weaken targets
Echo of Harvest – Defeating weakened targets creates an Orb of Power and a Void Breach
Armor – Briarbinds
These are exotic warlock gauntlets with the perk.
One with the Void – Your Void Souls have a longer duration. They also gain escalating damage and durability as they defeat targets. You can retrieve your Void Souls by interacting with them, allowing them to be redeployed.
To get these gauntlets you can run Legend or Master Lost Sectors Solo, or run Vex Incursion on Europa. Follow the twitter account @vexnetassistant to find out when an event is running.
Weapons
Riptide
Riptide is a Legendary Fusion Rifle dealing Stasis damage with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning it has deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when the magazine is empty. Auto-loading Holster, Chill Clip would be a decent roll – Direct hits with the top half of the magazine cause a detonation that slows nearby targets. This gives the build a fire and ice quality.
Graviton Lance
Graviton Lance is an Exotic Energy Pulse Rifle. Let’s check out the perks on this one.
Black Hole – Second shot of a burst rips a hole through space-time, doing high damage and recoil with no falloff.
Cosmology – Kills with this weapon cause enemy targets to detonate and spawn Void projectiles that track targets.
Graviton Lance is great it’s another random exotic drop or you can pick it up from Xur when he’s selling it. If you have a Collective Obligation, that’s also good too. Graviton Lance benefitted from a HUGE buff in PVE in Season 21, so it’s a good energy weapon for any void build.
Commemoration
Commemoration is a Legendary Power Machine Gun with an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. For PVE Reconstruction, and Rampage is the best roll. Reconstruction is where this weapon slowly reloads itself over time, up to double capacity. and finally rampage boosts damage after a kill, which stacks up to 3 times. Reconstruction paired with Rampage is absolutely perfect on this machine gun. You can get this one from the Deep Stone Crypt Raid.

Gameplay loop
Let’s get stuck into the gameplay loop. Ideally you want to have your void soul up as much as possible, and ideally multiple void souls working at the same time. I’ve seen 2, 3 even 4 void sould all working at the same time, which means death and destruction all round for your enemies.
First of all, the Void set up. Child of the Old Gods is absolutely essential, as that gives you the Void Soul in the first place. Then the combination of our fragments is going to help us get and maintain Devour. Devour is a buff that lasts for ten seconds, granting 15% grenade energy and full HP and shield recovery upon defeating a target. Defeating a target while Devour is active will extend its duration by a few seconds, with tougher enemies granting additional time. The other thing we’re doing with our fragments is creating orbs and weakening our opponents.
Create Orbs
The gameplay loop revolves around getting class ability energy as much as possible, so we can deploy our void souls. Generating and picking up orbs helps speed up the gameplay loop. Defeating weakened targets creates Orbs through Echo of Harvest. With Firepower, your grenade final blows create orbs of power. Then with Void Siphon we’re creating orbs through void weapon kills, which we have in place with Graviton Lance and Commemoration.
Use Orbs
Once we have generated orbs, we want to use them. Insulation reduces Class ability cooldown each time you pick up an Orb of Power. We’re getting Devour whenever we pick up an Orb. Using specific mods help with the orbs. Innervation reduces grenade cooldown each time you pick up an Orb of Power. More grenade kills means more orbs. We’re also using Powerful Attraction to automatically collect orbs when using the class ability.
The final thing to do is to use your class ability a lot, run around and pick up your void soul and keep redploying it over and over again. It’s a load of fun, it’s something different, and it makes playing void warlock a joy.
I didn’t think anything could compete with Nezarec’s Sin, but Briarbinds are great fun, and I definitely recommend this build for Void Warlocks.
