Season of the WitchWeapon Reviews

How to get Abyss Defiant (Crota’s End Raid Auto Rifle) in Destiny 2

Abyss Defiant has arrived in Destiny 2 as part of Crota’s End Raid. Auto Rifles are in a good place in the current sandbox, and Abyss Defiant has some of the best perk combinations in the game. Today I want to run through the stats, perks, god rolls to chase for PVE and PVP, plus how to get Abyss Defiant in Destiny 2.

How to get Abyss Defiant

To get Abyss Defiant you’ll want to run Crota’s End Raid in Destiny 2. You can find this in the Legends tab in the Director. You’re going to need a team, so either find some clanmates, friends or find a team through LFG, Bungie has a good one on their website or mobile app.

You can get Abyss Defiant from the 1st encounter (Enter the Abyss) or the Final Encounter (Crota). Once you have it drop for you, it’s also possible to get Abyss Defiant from the secret chest, plus you can pick one up from the raid vendor at the end (the sword in the ground after you beat Crota). This is also a craftable weapon, so get 5 red borders and extract the deepsight to craft your very own Abyss Defiant at the Enclave on Savathun’s Throne World.

Abyss Defiant

Abyss Defiant is a Legendary Energy Auto Rifle with a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow firing and high damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary, moving slowly, and aiming down sights. Looking at the stats we have Impact 33, Range 83, Stability 35, Handling 33, Reload Speed 35, Airborne Effectiveness 17, Rounds Per Minute 360 and Magazine 32.

We also have a unique origin trait to Crota’s End weapons called Cursed Thrall, this is where after defeating a target with a melee attack, final blows with this weapon cause targets to explode for a short duration.

Abyss Defiant God Rolls

For PVE Hammer-Forged Rifling, High-Caliber Rounds, Reconstruction and Incandescent would be good.

  • Hammer-Forged Rifling – Increases range
  • High-Caliber Rounds – Slightly increases range
  • Reconstruction – This weapon slowly reloads itself over time, up to double capacity.
  • Incandescent – Defeating a target spreads scorch to those nearby. More powerful combatants and opposing Guardians cause scorch in a larger radius.

For PVP Hammer-Forged Rifling, High-Caliber Rounds, Zen Moment and Target Lock would be good.

  • Hammer-Forged Rifling – Increases range
  • High-Caliber Rounds – Slightly increases range
  • Zen Moment – Causing damage with this weapon reduces recoil and flinch over time.
  • Target Lock – Damage increases the longer this weapon remains on a target.

Let me know in the comments what you think about Abyss Defiant and let me know your top rolls.
