Sunbracers Solar Warlock build in Destiny 2
This Solar Warlock build with Sunbracers is arguably one of the best in the game for absolutely destroying the battlefield. Not only can you throw near infinite grenades, but you can heal yourself to remain a massive threat to your enemies. Today I’m going to walk through the build including the solar set up, exotic armor and weapons plus the mods, so you can scorch and burn everything that gets in your way in Destiny 2.
The quick lowdown for this build is get powered melee kills with Incinerator Snap, and then activate the perk on Sunbracers, to unleash a quick burst of grenades. Enhance the grandes through your aspects, and then charge up your melee recharge rate through fragments and mods to repeat the process. Throw in Phoenix Dive to cure your fireteam as well as restoration for you, and you can quickly heal yourself on the battlefield while dominating the enemies and causing huge damage.
Solar subclass setup
Super – Daybreak
Class Ability – Phoenix Dive
Melee – Incinerator Snap
Grenade – Solar Grenade
Aspects
Touch of Flame – Your Healing, Solar, Firebolt, and Fusion Grenades have enhanced functionality. Healing Grenade has improved cure and restoration, Solar Grenade increases linger duration and fires blobs of lava, Firebolt Grenade increases target search radius and count, and Fusion Grenade explodes twice.
Heat Rises – You can fire weapons, melee, and throw grenades while gliding. Consumes grenade. Final blows while airborne increase the duration of Heat Rises and grant melee energy.
Fragments
Ember of Ashes – You apply more scorch stacks to targets.
Ember of Searing – Defeating scorched targets grants melee energy
Ember of Empyrean – Solar weapon or ability final blows extend the duration of restoration and radiant effects applied to you.
Ember of Singeing – Your class ability recharges faster when you scorch targets.
Exotic Armour
Sunbracers are Exotic Warlock Gauntlets
Helium Spirals – Increases the duration of Solar Grenades. Solar melee kills grant unlimited Solar Grenade energy for a brief time.
This is the key feature from the Exotic armour “Solar melee kills grant unlimited Solar Grenade energy for a brief time.” Now we have Incinerator Snap, this is going to allow us to kill enemies, and then we can unleash those Solar Grenades. If you haven’t got these warlock exotic gloves then you can pick them up from Xur or Master Rahool in the Tower.
Weapons
Kinetic – Witherhoard
Witherhoard is a good exotic to have for the kinetic slot as this is going to damage enemies over time. You can pick this one up from the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower.
Energy – Calus Mini-Tool
The Calus Mini-Tool with Incadescent is great here, as this is going to increase scorch stacks to enemies around you. Pick this one up from Banshee or Xur when they are selling it, or you can get this from the Presage Exotic Mission.
Power – Fixed Odds
Fixed Odds is a solar machine gun, also can roll with Incandescent, meaning more scorch.
Mods
Head – Harmonic Siphon, Ashes to Assets
Harmonic Siphon works with our subclass and turns into Solar Siphon, meaning rapid Solar weapon final blows create an Orb of Power. Then Ashes to Assets helps us gain bonus Super energy on grenade kills.
Arms – Firepower, Momentum transfer x2
Firepower is where your grenade final blows create Orbs of Power. Then Mommentum Transfer is where Causing damage with a grenade reduces your melee cooldown.
Legs – Solar Weapon Surge
Collecting an Orb of Power causes you to gain 1 temporary Armor Charge.
Class item – Time Dilation, Reaper
Time Dilation is where your decaying Armor Charge has a longer duration. Then reaper is where after using your class ability, your next weapon final blow spawns an Orb of Power.
Plus increase resilience where possible.
Gameplay loop
Sunbracers are key to the build to unlock the ability of thowing multiple grenades. First you want to make sure you have a full melee charge, and then kill some smaller enemies with incinerator snap. Once you have done this then you’ll activate the perk on Sunbracers, where solar melee kills grant unlimited Solar Grenade energy for a brief time. Get that powered melee kill and unload grenades.
That’s the key part of the build, then it’s all about enhacing our grenades and getting our melee back nice and quickly so we can do it again, causing a chain of near infinite grenades and making the floor lava so nothing can survive.
Touch of Flame, our Warlock Aspect is going to help given it enhances Solae Grenades, Solar Grenade increases linger duration and fires blobs of lava. Heat Rises is also going to help because airborne kills mean faster melee recharge. Therefore you can activate Heat Rises and get airborne kills for a quick top up for melee energy.
Ember of Searing is going to grant melee enery when you defeat scorched targets, and given we have incandscent weapons then that means we’ll be defeating scorched targets a lot. Ember of Ashes then applies more scorch stacks to targets.
There is a healing aspect to the build too. We’re using Phoenix Dive, which creates a burst of Solar Light that cures nearby allies. While Heat Rises is active, you gain restoration while diving and scorch targets upon landing. Ember of Empyrean extend the effects of restoration. Therefore it’s good practice to use heat rises and consume that grenade as much as you can.
As for the mods Momentum Transfer is going to be useful for getting melee back, plus we have solar weapon surges and solar siphons active.
Let me know in the comments what you think of the build, and let me know if you have any improvements.
