Season of the WitchWeapon Reviews

How to get Semiotician (Legendary Rocket Launcher) in Destiny 2

Semiotician is a strand rocket launcher added to Destiny 2 in Season of the Witch. This is part of the hive set of weapons, and given rockets are very strong in the sandbox right now, this is a great weapon to add to your arsenal. Today I am going to check out the stats, perks, god rolls to chase for PVP and PVE, plus how to get Semiotician in Destiny 2.

How to get Semiotician

To get Semiotician you’ll want to take part in the new seasonal activities Savathun’s Spire or Altars of Summoning. It’s a random drop from the rewards at the end of the activity. You can also get the Athenaeum Ritual Table, found via the H.E.L.M. This is also a craftable weapon, meaning if you collect 5 red borders of the weapon and level them up, you can obtain the pattern and craft your very own Semiotician at the Enclave on Savathun’s Throne World.

Semiotician

Semiotician is a Legendary Power Rocket Launcher with a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow firing and high damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary, moving slowly, and aiming down sights. Looking at the stats we have Blast Radius 90, Velocity 44, Stability 56, Handling 69, Reload Speed 38, Airborne Effectiveness 6, Rounds Per Minute 15, and Magazine 1.

The origin trait here is Head Rush, this is where standing up after crouching for a short time grants this weapon a brief period of improved handling and reload speed.

Semiotician god roll guide

For PVE Quick Launch, Impact Casing, Field Prep and Explosive Light would be good.

  • Quick Launch – Greatly increases handling speed, Increases projectile speed
  • Impact Casing – Increases stability
  • Field Prep – Increased ammo reserves. Faster reload, stow, and ready when you’re crouching.
  • Explosive Light – Picking up an Orb of Power increases the next projectile’s blast radius and damage.

Field prep and Explosive light is a great combination for boss DPS, which isn’t anything new in the PVE world, but it’s good to have a strand option here for those builds. Field prep is good for increasing reserves and reload speed and then you have a massive damage boost with Explosive Light. It’s up there with bait and switch as the best rocket perks in the game.

For PVP Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, Impulse Amplifier and Danger Zone would be good.

  • Quick Launch – Greatly increases handling speed, Increases projectile speed
  • High-Velocity Rounds – Increases projectile speed, Increases reload speed
  • Impulse Amplifier – Massively increases projectile velocity, increases reload speed.
  • Danger Zone – The blast radius of this weapon increases when surrounded by combatants. While active, this weapon deals significantly less damage to the wielder.

Impulse amplifier is great in PVP and Danger Zone gives you that larger blast radius which can catch out teams if they bunch together in PVP. With rockets and PVP, you want the velocity up there as close to max as possible.

Let me know in the comments what you think of this one.
