How to get the Quicksilver Storm Catalyst in Destiny 2

The Quicksilver Storm Catalyst has been added to Destiny 2, making a good gun even better given it changes the damage output to Strand, making it perfect for Strand builds. Today I am going to walk through how to get it, how to complete the quest steps and level it up, plus check out what the catalyst does, so you can add this exotic auto rifle to your Strand builds as soon as possible.

How to get the Quicksilver Storm Catalyst

You’ll need to pick up the Any Data Port in a Storm quest. First of all you’ll need to own Quicksilver Storm, and if you have this exotic Auto Rifle then the quest will be waiting for you at the Holoprojector near Nimbus on Neomuna. Pick up that quest, then it’s time to begin.

Step 1 – Defeat enemies on Neomuna with Auto Rifles, Grenades & Grenade Launchers

First all defeat enemies on Neomua. You don’t strictly have to use Quicksilver Storm, but you may as well.

Step 2 – Speak to Banshee-44

Have a chat with our gunsmith friend in the Tower. Land at the courtyard and go and have a chat with Banshe-44, he’s under the stairs.

Step 3 – Defeat enemies on Neomuna using Quicksilver Storm’s Grenade

For this step you have to use Quicksilver Storm. Defeat 50 enemies on Neomuna using the weapon’s alternate firing mode. It can hold up to 3 rockets, and you get these by landing micro missile rounds when firing Quicksilver Storm. Ideally you want to be aiming for groups of enemies to get multi kills, that’s going to help speed up progress.

How to level up the Quicksilver Storm Catalyst

Before you can equip the catalyst you’ll need to level it up, and you’ll need to get 700 kills with Quicksilver Storm.

The most efficient way to get this done is the Shuro Chi checkpoint in the Last Wish Raid, this is because tens of enemies spawn, and you can take them out nice and easily using Quicksilver Storm. It’s best to stock up on raid banners, and you can get these from Hawthorn in the Tower. I’ll put the route to the Shuro Chi location in the Last Wish Raid at the end of this guide, simply follow that, input the code at the wishing wall and you’ll be teleported to the farming location.

Altars of Sorrow is another good location, you can find this on the moon. The start of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon is another good place, plus you have plenty of Lost Sectors all over the planets and the moons. Blind Well is another good alternative, which can be found on the Dreaming City. Ideally you want to run activities solo, so you can maximize the amount of enemies you are killing. Given you have to kill lots, you don’t want to be sharing kills in Vanguard Ops or any other activity, as that’s going to slow down your progress. If you want to get this done fast, get in there with solo activities and get those 700 kills.

What the Quicksilver Storm Catalyst does

One you have leveled up the catalyst you’ll get a new perk called Nano-entanglement. The effect of this is Quicksilver Storm weapon’s damage type becomes Strand. Final blows with grenades from this weapon create Tangles.

This is great for Strand builds, plus is another way to make tangles.

Let me know in the comments what you think of Quicksilver Storm’s Catalyst.
