How to get Final Warning (Exotic Sidearm) plus ‘The Final Strand’ quest guide in Destiny 2
Final Warning is an Exotic Strand Sidearm added to Destiny 2 as part of the Lightfall expansion. As well as being a Strand weapon, which is great for Strand builds, this auto aims at multiple opponents, allowing you to do damage to everything that gets in your way. There’s an Exotic quest for this one called The Final Strand, and today I’m going to walk through all the quest steps, give you hints and tips, plus we’ll check out Final Warning in more detail.
Before we get into it today let me know in the comments what you think of Final Warning, and let me know what you thought of the quest.
How to start The Final Strand Quest
Final Warning is a reward for the quest The Final Strand, but to get to that quest you’re going to need to go through a couple of steps first. First of all you are going to need to complete the Lightfall Camapign, and then you have to unlock all Strand grenades, aspects and fragments on a single class. Once you beat the campaign and get your hands on the Strand subclass, you’ll be directed to the Pouka Pond area near the Hall of Heroes. To be able to unlock everything for your strand subclass, you’re going to need a currency called Strand Meditations. After you complete the campaign you’ll be given a certain amount for free, as a gift, and you’ll be able to purchase 2 aspects, a grenade and a fragment. The grenades cost 50 and each fragment costs 200, so in total you’re going to need 2650 Strand Meditations to unlock everything.
How to get Strand Meditations
The fastest method of getting Strand Meditations involved running the activity found on Neptune called Terminal Overload. Before you jump into Terminal Overload, you’ll want Terminal Overload Keys, which can be found on Neptune by farming public events, patrols and opening chests. Once you have a decent cache of Terminal Overload Keys, then loads into that activity and complete the 3 waves of enemies, where you’ll face off against Vex and Shadow Legion Cabal, and ultimately beat the boss and open the chests at the end.
While you are doing the Terminal Overload activity, you want to be keeping an eye open for planetary materials, patrols and chests, as that’s going to help you rank up with Nimbus, which will unlock various bonuses plus more Strand Meditations. Opening the chest at the end of the activity will give you 75 Strand Meditations, however, if you can complete patrols at the same time then you’ll get more.
At the end of the activity, once you have opened both chests, hop on your sparrow, ride out of the area until you see the text prompt at the bottom left hand corner of the screen, you are looking for the location to change, once you see that then make your way back to where you came from.
Do be aware that there is a cap on Strand Meditations at 1500, if you get this amount then there’s no need to gather anymore, because it’ll just be wasting your time, given you have reached the cap, you won’t be able to pick up anymore. Therefore, when you get 1500, take a break from farming and go and buy some strand aspects and fragments.
How to get Final Warning
Once you have purchased all grenades, aspects and fragments you are ready to begin the quest for the Final Warning, just go ahead to the same location in the Pouka Pond, and pick up the quest The Final Strand.
Step 1 – Get the Strand Inoculated Gadgets
First up you’ll need to go to the Veil Containment area of the Neomuna map. You’ll find the exotic quest marker on your map, so to make your life easier, select it and then follow the marker.
Step 2 – Defeat the Shadow Legion Looters
Once you get to the Veil Containment area, then a bunch of Shadow Legion will spawn in and you have to defeat them. Defeat the waves of enemies and you’ll finally get a big yellow bar Cabal, beat them and pick up the ‘Shadow Legion Orders’ they drop.
Step 3 – Retrieve the Veil Spectrometer from the Typhon Imperator
Next up you have to make your way to Typhon Imperator. Here are more Shadow Cabal, plus a Tormentor. Defeat all the enemies and the Tormentor and you’ll get the Veil Spectrometer.
Step 4 – Complete Osiris’ Training Promgram in Radiosonde
For this step of the quest you have to beat the “Headlong: Time Trial” in under 5mins and 30s. This is the same mission as the campaign mission “Headlong”. The timing for the mission is fairly forgiving, you can mess up a few times and you should be able to beat it in time. For speed here I used a combination of Riptide in my kinetic slot and Gjallarhorn in my power weapon slot, and that helped bring down the boss at the end nice and quickly, where as Riptide allows you to melt ads in no time at all. You can also do this step of the quest as a fireteam if you are having trouble getting the boss down in under the time limit.
Step 5 – Return to the Pouka Pond
For the final step, make your way back to the Pouka Pond to pick up Final Warning. Congrats!
