How to get the Verglas Curve (Exotic Stasis Bow) plus catalyst in Destiny 2
Verglas Curve is out first Exotic Stasis Bow, and it’s just been added to Destiny 2 as part of Season of Defiance. We’ve had Arc, Void and Solar exotic bows before, but now we have a stasis one, which is going to go perfectly with our stasis builds. Today I’m going to show off the weapon, show you how to get it plus we’ll talk about the catalyst too.
How to get Verglas Curve
Verglas Curve is the season pass reward in Season of Defiance, the first season in year 6 of Destiny 2. That means, if you own Season of Defiance, you can pick up this bow immediately from rank 1 on the paid track of the season pass. If you are free to play, not to worry you can get this at rank 35 on the season pass. If you are watching this in the future, then you’ll be able to pick up this bow from the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower, and check out Lightfall Exotics, that’s where you can pick up past season pass exotics you missed. So, it’s nice and easy to get this one, get it from the season pass, then it’s onto the fun part, and that’s using the weapon.
Verglas Curve
Verglas Curve is an Exotic Kinetic Combat Bow. This is our first exotic stasis bow, making it very interesting, plus it’s in the kinetic slot, which is different from Le Monarque, Trinity Ghoul etc.
- Hail Barrage – Final blows with this weapon grant Stasis arrows. Your next hip-fire shot will fire all of them in a single volley.
- Hail Storm – Stasis arrows freeze targets on contact and create Stasis crystals when affecting the environment.
Looking at the stats we have Impact 68, Accuracy 38, Stability 58, Handling 67, Reload Speed 60, Aim Assistance 83, Airborne Effectiveness 20 and Draw Time 580.
How to get the Verglas Curve Catalyst
Step 1 – Kill enemies
For this step we’re going to need to rapidly defeat 20 enemies and then kill 40 enemies with stasis final blows.
Step 2 – Calibrate data
Next up you’ll need to kill 450 enemies and gather 200 calibration data from completing operations. Level up your season pass for faster progression, and keep an eye on the buffs there to make this quicker. You can calibrate by completing vanguard ops, gambit, cruicble matches or seasonal playlist activities. Higher tier nightfalls, and crucible/gambit wins will award faster progress.
Step 3 – Speak to Banshee-44
That’s it, finish up the mini-grind and pick up the catalyst
How to level up the Verglas Curve Catalyst
Before you can equip the catalyst you’ll need to level it up, and you’ll need to get 700 kills with Verglas Curve.
The most efficient way to get this done is the Shruo Chi checkpoint in the Last Wish Raid, this is because tens of enemies spawn, and you can take them out nice and easily using cloudstrike, and many will die all at the same time due to the exotic perk, where a lightning storm rains down on your enemies with a precision kill. It’s best to stock up on raid banners, and you can get these from Hawthorn in the Tower. I’ll put the route to the Shuro Chi location in the Last Wish Raid at the end of this guide, simply follow that, input the code at the wishing wall and you’ll be teleported to the farming location.
Altars of Sorrow is another good location, you can find this on the moon. The start of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon is another good place, plus you have plenty of Lost Sectors all over the planets and the moons. Blind Well is another good alternative, which can be found on the Dreaming City. Ideally you want to run activities solo, so you can maximize the amount of enemies you are killing. Givewn you have to kill 400, you don’t want to be sharing kills in Vanguard Ops or any other activity, as that’s going to slow down your progress. If you want to get this done fast, get in there with solo activities and get those 700 kills.
What does the Verglas Curve Catalyst do?
The Verglas Curve Catalyst gives you faster draw speed time for a short duration when you freeze a target. This is going to work very well with stasis builds, given the bow already creates stasis arrows and freezes targets on contact and creates stasis crystals. The benefits here you can get off more arrows faster, freezing and shattering even more than before.
