How to get Prolonged Engagement (Legendary Submachine Gun) plus god roll guide in Destiny 2

Prolonged Engagement is a stasis SMG added to Destiny 2 as part of Season of the Seraph. This is a tasty SMG that will be a good addition to any arsenal, plus it’s readily available through Vanguard Ops. Today I am going to check out the Prolonged Engagement, the stats, perks, god rolls to chase in PVE and PVP, plus look at how to get Prolonged Engagement in Destiny 2.

How to get Prolonged Engagement

To get Prolonged Engagement you want to take part in Vanguard Ops, which can be selected from the director. When you complete Vanguard Ops, formerly strikes, you’ll have a chance at Prolonged Engagement dropping for you. You also have the chance at getting this SMG when you level up at Zavala in the Tower, plus you can open up more perks on Prolonged Engagement too. More perks mean potentially better rolls, so ranking up with Zavala is a good idea. Throughout the season you’ll likely take part in Nightfalls, so you can double up and farm two things at the same time (Nightfall exclusive weapons and Prolonged Engagement).

Prolonged Engagement

Prolonged Engagement is a Legendary Kinetic Submachine Gun with a Lightweight Frame meaning superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped. Looking at the stats we have Impact 15, Range 25, Stability 46, Handling 68, Reload Speed 29, Airborne Effectiveness 21, Rounds Per Minute 900 and Magazine 36.

Prolonged Engagement is a lightweight frame SMG, which is good for cruicble, plus you’ve got Veist Stinger on there too with the Origin Trait, which is always good, and one of the better Origin Traits in the game. It’s fire stasis damage, which means it’s going to compliment stasis builds very nicely. It’s similar visually to Funnelweb, although the range of perks is much larger given it’s a weapon from Vanguard Ops, meaning it’s going to be harder to get the roll you want.

Prolonged Engagement God Roll Guide

For PVE Corkscrew Rifling, Ricochet Rounds, Subsistence, and Headstone would be a good roll.

  • Corkscrew Rifling – Slightly increases range and stability, Slightly increases handling speed
  • Ricochet Rounds – Increases stability, Slightly increases range
  • Subsistence – Defeating targets partially reloads the magazine from reserves.
  • Headstone – Precision final blows spawn a Stasis crystal at the victim’s location.

For PVP Fluted Barrel, Ricochet Rounds, Dynamic Sway Reduction and Rangefinder would be good.

  • Fluted Barrel – Greatly increases handling speed, Slightly increases stability
  • Ricochet Rounds – Increases stability, Slightly increases range
  • Dynamic Sway Reduction – Improves accuracy and stability while continuously holding down the trigger.
  • Rangefinder – Increases range

Overall, this is probably a pick for PVE content, and perhaps lower level PVE content. It’s great because of the stasis synnergy, so it’s well worth getting a decent roll of Prolonged Engagement.
