Ultimate Tank Titan Stasis PVE Build with Icefall Mantle and Glaives in Destiny 2

The combination of Icefall Mantle and Glaives are an under used combination for Titans, and when put together on the stasis subclass this turns you into the utlimate tank, able to withstand pretty much anything, allowing you to stab, freeze and shatter all enemies. Today I am going to run through the build, check out the armor, weapons and mods, so you can put together this ultimate tank build in Destiny 2.

Without further delay, let’s dive into this build.

Stasis Setup

Super: Glacial Quake
Class Ability: Towering Barricade
Melee: Shiver Strike
Grenade: Glacier Grenade

Aspects

Tectonic Harvest – Shattering a Stasis crystal creates a Stasis shard. This shard grants melee energy when picked up by you or your allies.

Diamond Lance – Shatter or defeat targets with Stasis abilities to create a Stasis Lance. Throw the lance to freeze targets on impact. Slam the lance to the ground to freeze targets in a small area.

Fragments

Whisper of Fissures – Increases the damage and size of the burst of Stasis when you destroy a Stasis crystal or defeat a frozen target.

Whisper of Shards – Shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily boosts your grenade recharge rate. Shattering additional Stasis crystals increases the duration of this benefit.

Whisper of Conduction – Nearby Stasis shards track to your position.

Whisper of Chains – While you are near frozen targets or a friendly Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage from targets.

Whisper of Rime – Collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, which falls off after 10 seconds. Collecting additional shards adds to the overshield and refreshes the timer.

Exotic Armor – Icefall Mantle

Icefall Mantle are Exotic Titan Gauntlets and comes with the perk Glacial Guard.

Glacial Guard – Replaces your Barricade ability with a personal overshield. When you activate your Barricade, you create a burst around yourself that slows combatants. While you have the overshield, you are slowed and Barricade does not recharge.

You can get this from Lost Sectors when completing solo on Legend or Master difficulty.

Weapons

Kinetic – Perses-D

Perses-D is a Legendary Kinetic Scout Rifle is a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow-firing and high-damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. Rapit hit and Headstone would be a decent roll for PVE content.

Energy – Nezarec’s Whisper

Nezarec’s Whisper is a Legendary Energy Adaptive Glaive which is a hybrid melee/ranged polearm with a frontal shield. Generates energy on dealing ranged damage. Nezarec’s Whisper is a beast in PVE content. For PVE Impulse Amplifier and Frenzy would be a decent roll. For this build one with demolitionst would be great, and make the build better.

Power – Chain of Command

This is a useful machine gun that comes with a selection of perks. We have Adrenaline Junkie, Demolitionist, Osmosis and Adaptive Munitions. I’m going for Adrenaline Junkie and Demolitionist, given the grenade focus of the build. Demolitionist in particular is good because kills with this weapon generate grenade energy.

Mods

  • Well of Tenacity (3) – Picking up a Void elemental well reduces the damage you take from combatants for a short period of time
  • Elemental Time Dilation – Elemental well mods that grant you time-limited benefits can now stack, increasing the duration of the effect for each copy of the mod you have equipped
  • Reaping Wellmaker – After activating your class ability, your next weapon final blow on a combatant spawns a Void elemental well
  • Antibarrier Scout – Strong against Barrier Champions
  • Overload Machine Gun – Strong against Overload Champions
  • Resilience mods (100) – 40% damage reduction

Gameplay

This build is all about Icefall Mantle and Glaives, and it’s going to allow you to get overshields very often, making you extremely hard to kill in all types of content.

Here’s a simple run down of the gameplay loop you are looking for.

  • Throw a glacier grenade (this is going to proc Whisper of Chains)
  • Create an oversheild from Icefall Mantle
  • Kill something with your glaive and pick up the Elemental Well
  • Well of Tenacity kicks in for reduced damage
  • Kill enemies with your demolitionist weapons and get that grenade back
  • Repeat

This gameplay loop is going to ensure you have an Overshield nearly 100% of the time.

The stasis benefits are going to come into play here too. Whisper of shards will help recharge your grenades, meaning you can shatter more crystals. Whisper of Rime is going to give you additional overshield, and Fissures is going to turn the crystals into weapons.

What you want to pay attention to is popping the overshield from Icefall Mantle and then going to kill something. That’s going to kick in Reaping Wellmaker, which will spawn the void elemental well. Then when you pick up that well, you’ll take reduced damage due to Well of Tenacity. Elemental Time Dilation is going to be great because it’s going to make the effects last longer.

Regarding the weapons, the Glaive is the main focus of attack, however, that’s not going to get your very far if you want to go into Nightfalls this season. Therefore I am using Perses-D for antibarrier champs and Chain of Command for my power weapon. Perses-D is good because its a stasis weapon, and if you get one with Headstone that’s another good way to create crystals, other than grenades and supers. Chain of Command is good because you have dmeolitionist built in, which helps with grenade regeneration. Ideally you want to mix and match your kinetic and power weapons with champion killing weapons.

Let me know in the comments what you think of the build, and let me know if you have any improvements.
