Hunter Stasis PVE Build with Renewal Grasps and Agers Scepter in Destiny 2
The combination of Renewal Grasps, Stasis Hunter and Agers Scepter is awesome in PVP, allowing you to freeze, slow and control the flow of the battle with ease. This is a build you can take into endgame content like raids, dungeons, nightfalls and more, and today I am going to run through this Hunter Stasis PVE Build with Renewal Grasps and Agers Scepter, so you can freeze and shatter all your enemies in Destiny 2.
Without further delay, let’s look at the build.
Stasis Setup
Super: Silence and Squall
Class Ability: Gambler’s Dodge
Melee: Withering Blade
Grenade: Duskfield grenade
Aspects
Touch of Winter – Your Glacier, Duskfield, and Coldsnap grenades have enhanced functionality. Duskfield Grenade: Increases slow-field size and creates a small Stasis crystal on impact.
Grim Harvest – Defeating slowed or frozen combatants creates [Stasis] Stasis shards. These shards grant melee energy when picked up by you or your allies.
Fragments
Whisper of Shards – Shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily boosts your grenade recharge rate. Shattering additional Stasis crystals increases the duration of this benefit.
Whisper of Rime – Collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, which falls off after 10 seconds. Collecting additional shards adds to the overshield and refreshes the timer.
Whisper of Chains – While you are near frozen targets or a friendly [Stasis] Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage from targets.
Whisper of Durance – Slow from your abilities lasts longer. For those abilities that linger, their duration will also increase.
Whisper of Conduction – Nearby Stasis shards track to your position.
Exotic Armor – Renewal Grasps
Renewal Grasps are Exotic Hunter Gauntlets that come with the perk Depths of Duskfield.
Depths of Duskfield – Your Duskfield grenades have a much larger effect radius. Allies inside the Duskfield take reduced damage and targets inside the area deal reduced damage.
You can get these from Lost Sectors when you complete legend or master solo on arms day.
Weapons
Kinetic – Agers Scepter
Ager’s Scepter is an Exotic Kinetic Trace Rifle that has some very interesting perks, and this synergizes really well with Stasis builds. Let’s check out the perks:
- Ager’s Call – Final blows with this weapon generate a slowing burst around the defeated target.
- Rega’s Refrain – Stasis final blows transfer ammo to this weapon’s magazine from reserves.
Energy – Shadow Price
Shadow Price is a Legendary Energy Auto Rifle which has a Precision Frame meaning this weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical. I have a version with Swashbuckler. This weapon gains increased damage from melee kills and kills with this weapon. This is also good because it’s an arc weapon, plus it can deal with Anti Barrier Champions.
If you don’t have Shadow Price, then another energy weapon with Swashbuckler would be good. Bonus for it being able to take on Champions e.g. Scout, Pulse, Bow or Sniper this season.
Power – Qullim’s Terminus
Qullim’s Terminus is a Legendary Power Machine Gun with a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow-firing and high damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. All the King’s Fall weapons come with the origin trait Runneth Over. This is where reloading near allies overflows the magazine, which is very useful in a raid.
This is a stasis weapon, which why it works well with the build, and you can get it from the Kings Fall raid.
Mods
- Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
- Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.
- Font of Wisdom – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage
- Elemental Shards – Stasis shards count as Stasis elemental wells for you.
- Antibarrier Auto Rifle – Strong against Barrier Champions
- Overload Machine Guns – Strong against Overload Champions
- Resilience mods (100) – 40% damage reduction
Gameplay
This build is all about freezing, slowing and creating stasis shards with our Hunter. I’m going to combine Duskfield Grenades, Renewal Grasps and Agers Scepter into a build, which is going to have you controlling the battlefield, slowing and trappign enemies inside shards, then exploding them with the help of our stasis aspects and fragments.
First of all the Duskfield Grenades. Renewal Grasps are made to pair with Duskfields given the perk Depths of Duskfield where your Duskfield grenades have a much larger effect radius. Allies inside the Duskfield take reduced damage and targets inside the area deal reduced damage. This pairs up well with the aspect Touch of Winter where Duskfield grenades are improved, increases slow-field size and creates a small Stasis crystal on impact. Therefore we’re going to be very effective when it comes to throwing grenades and slowing enemies inside of the field, plus helping allies take reduced damage.
Next we have our stasis shards. Our other aspect, Grim Harvest, is going to help here, by defeating slowed or frozen combatants creates Stasis shards. These shards grant melee energy when picked up by you or your allies. This combined with all our our fragments are going to make us deadly against PVE enemies. Whisper of Shards, shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily boosts your grenade recharge rate, so we’re able to throw more grenades more often.
Whisper of Rime, collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, that’s going to help in Nightfalls and other endgame activites. Same goes for Whisper of Chains, while you are near frozen targets or a friendly Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage from targets. Whisper of Durance works well with Duskfield grenades too, slow from your abilities lasts longer. For those abilities that linger, their duration will also increase.
All of our aspects and framgents combine well here. Our Kinetic weapon, Agers Scepter, really is the icing on the cake allowing us to blast enemies with a freezing Trace Rifle. Final blows with this weapon generate a slowing burst around the defeated target. It all works together very well. Given I am using Agers Scepter in the kinetic slow, that means my other two weapons are reserved for champions, here I am using anti barrier auto rifle and overload machine gun, that allowed me to take care of champions in nightfalls, without sacrificing anything for the build. You can mix and match weapons to suit the activity you are playing, however, the key elements of the build are Stasis Hunter, Renewal Grasps and Agers Scepter. The rest is up to you.
Let me know what you think of the build in the comments, and let me know if you have any improvements.
