Hoarfrost-Z is a fantastic Titan Exotic chest armor that’s going to turn your titan into a stasis crystal machine, providing you and your team cover, plus a whole bunch of ‘stasis landmines’ on the battlefield. Today I am going to walk through this Titan Stasis PVE build with Hoarfrost-Z, look at the aspects and fragments, the weapons and mods, so you can dominate on the battlefield with ease in Destiny 2.
Without further delay, let’s look at the build.
Super: Glacial Quake
Class Ability: Towering Barricade
Melee: Shivering Strike
Grenade: Glacier Grenade
Tectonic Harvest – Shattering a Stasis crystal creates a [Stasis] Stasis shard. This shard grants melee energy when picked up by you or your allies.
Howl of the Storm – While sliding, activate your charged melee ability to launch a wave of [Stasis] Stasis energy forward that freezes targets and creates [Stasis] Stasis crystals.
- Whisper of Rime – Collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, which falls off after 10 seconds. Collecting additional shards adds to the overshield and refreshes the timer.
- Whisper of Shards – Shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily boosts your grenade recharge rate. Shattering additional Stasis crystals increases the duration of this benefit.
- Whisper of Chains – While you are near frozen targets or a friendly [Stasis] Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage from targets.
- Whisper of Fissures – Increases the damage and size of the burst of [Stasis] Stasis when you destroy a [Stasis] Stasis crystal or defeat a frozen target.
Exotic Armor – Hoarfrost-Z
Hoarfrost-Z is an Exotic Titan Chest Armor
Glacial Fortification – When using the Stasis subclass, your Barricade becomes a wall of Stasis crystals that slows nearby targets when created. Standing behind this barricade will grant you and your allies increased weapon reload speed, stability, and range.
You can get this one from Lost Sectors, Legend or Master when you complete them solo.
Kinetic – Perses-D
Perses-D is a Legendary Kinetic Scout Rifle is a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow-firing and high-damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. Rapit hit and Headstone would be a decent roll for PVE content.
Energy – Le Monarque
Le Monarque is an Exotic Energy Bow, with some deadly perks.
Poison Arrows – Arrows fired quickly after a full draw become poison arrows. Precision hits with poison arrows spread poison to nearby enemies.
Snapshot Sights – Faster time to aim down sights.
The Le Monarque catalyst gives you extra stats when it comes to stability and reload speed, 30 stability and 20 reload speed. Plus you also get the Unrelenting perk, which gives you health regeneration when you rapidly defeat targets. This is going to make an already solid weapon even better.
Power – Chain of Command
This is a useful machine gun that comes with a selection of perks. We have Adrenaline Junkie, Demolitionist, Osmosis and Adaptive Munitions. I’m going for Adrenaline Junkie and Demolitionist, given the grenade focus of the build. Demolitionist in particular is good because kills with this weapon generate grenade energy.
- Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
- Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.
- Font of Might – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage
- Elemental Shards – Stasis shards count as Stasis elemental wells for you.
- Antibarrier Scout – Strong against Barrier Champions
- Overload Machine Guns – Strong against Overload Champions
- Resilience mods (100) – 40% damage reduction
This build is focused around the stasis Titan, plus Hoarfrost-Z. We’re going to be using stasis crystals to shield ourselves in the battle, plus use them as explosives to cause major damage to enemies.
First of all, we have our exotic armor, Hoarfrost-Z, and this has the perk Glacial Fortification, where your Barricade becomes a wall of Stasis crystals that slows nearby targets when created. Standing behind this barricade will grant you and your allies increased weapon reload speed, stability, and range. We can pair this up with our Glacier Grenade, allowing us to place strategic crystals on the battlefield. We can either hide behind them, freeze enemies with them, or shoot them to detonate them like a bomb.
We can also use other aspects our of stasis setup to help here. Tectonic Harvest, shattering a Stasis crystal creates a Stasis shard. This shard grants melee energy when picked up by you or your allies. Plus Howl of the Storm, while sliding, activate your charged melee ability to launch a wave of Stasis energy forward that freezes targets and creates Stasis crystals. We can use this with Elemental Shards to mimic shards into elemental wells, then when we use that with Font of Might, we’re boosting our damage output by 20%.
We also have Whisper of Rime, where collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, which falls off after 10 seconds. Collecting additional shards adds to the overshield and refreshes the timer. Also, Whisper of Shards – Shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily boosts your grenade recharge rate. Shattering additional Stasis crystals increases the duration of this benefit. Therefore, when we combine both Whisper of Shards and Tectonic Harvest we’re generating both grenade and melee energy, meaning we’re never going to be short of energy. Finally, we have Whisper of Chains, while you are near frozen targets or a friendly Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage from targets. This is going to be useful in endgame PVE content.
Headstone perks on weapons also help here, I have this on my perses-d scout rifle, which is good this season because of the champion mods. I’m also using overload machine guns with Chain of Command, a stasis machine gun, then using Le Monarque in the energy slot for the intrinsic Overload capabilities. That way barrier and overload champions shouldn’t really stand a chance, plus you have the damage tick from Le Monarque, and running 3 elemental weapons given stasis in the kinetic slot.
Let me know what you think of the build in the comments, and let me know your improvements.
