Warlock Stasis Build with Osmiomancy Gloves in Destiny 2

Today I’m going to showcase one of the strongest builds for Warlocks in the game right now. While the light subclass builds have been taking many of the recent headlines, this Stasis build with Osmiomancy Gloves still remains one of the best builds for Warlocks going into endgame content like Grandmaster Nightfalls, Raids and Dungeons. Today I’ll show you the stasis set-up and the combination of weapons, armour and mods so you can get through that endgame content nice and easy in Destiny 2.

Stasis Setup

Super: Winter’s Wrath
Grenade: Coldsnap Grenade
Melee: Penumbral Blast
Class Ability: Healing Rift

Aspects

Bleak Watcher – Press and hold the grenade button to convert your grenade into a [Stasis] Stasis turret that fires slowing projectiles at nearby targets.

Glacial Harvest – Freezing targets creates Stasis shards around the frozen targets. Higher-tier combatants create more shards.

Fragments

Whisper of Fissures – Increases the damage and size of the burst of Stasis when you destroy a Stasis crystal or defeat a frozen target.
Whisper of Bonds – Defeating frozen targets grants you Super energy.
Whisper of Shards – Shattering a Stasis crystal temporarily boosts your grenade recharge rate. Shattering additional Stasis crystals increases the duration of this benefit.
Whisper of Rime – Collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, which falls off after 10 seconds. Collecting additional shards adds to the overshield and refreshes the timer.

Exotic Armor – Osmiomancy Gloves

Osmiomancy Gloves are Exotic Warlock Gauntlets

Fervid Coldsnap – Your Coldsnap grenades have an additional charge that recharges quicker on direct impact. The seeker spawned from Coldsnap grenades travels further.

To get these gloves to check out the Legend or Master Lost Sectors Solo when it’s arms day.

Weapons

Kinetic – Perses-D

Perses-D is a Legendary Kinetic Scout Rifle is a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s slow-firing and high-damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. Rapid Hit and Vorpal Weapon is good.

  • Rapid Hit – Rapid precision hits temporarily increase stability and reload speed.
  • Vorpal Weapon – Increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active.

There are 2 reasons I’m using this one; it fires stasis damage and it’s good for Champions this season.

Energy – Vex Mythoclast

In the energy slot, I’m using the Vex Mythoclast

  • Timeless Mythoclast – This weapon fires full auto when in its default firing mode.
  • Temporal Unlimiter – Defeating targets builds stacks of Overcharge. Swap firing modes when fully Overcharged. In alternative firing mode, hold the trigger to charge up and fire more powerful linear fusion shots.

Get this one from the Vault of Glass Raid from the boss at the end. Be aware though, it’s a super rare drop!

Power – Chain of Command

This is a useful machine gun that comes with a selection of perks. We have Adrenaline Junkie, Demolitionist, Osmosis and Adaptive Munitions. I’m going for Adrenaline Junkie and Demolitionist, given the grenade focus of the build. Demolitionist in particular is good because kills with this weapon generate grenade energy.

Mods

  • Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
  • Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.
  • Font of Might – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage
  • Elemental Shards – Stasis Shards count as Stasis Elemental Wells for you. Does not apply to Cruicble, Trials or Iron Banner.
  • Distribution – Reduces all ability cooldowns when using your class ability near targets.
  • Anti-Barrier Scout Rifle / Overload Machine Gun

Gameplay loop

This build is focused on controlling the battlefield, and stasis is one of the best choices for this because you can deploy all kinds of tools to freeze enemies in place. One of the main components of the build here is the Osmiomancy Gloves. These give us a second Coldsnap Grenade, which is almost returned immediately when you get a direct hit with a grenade. I’m going to pair this up with Bleak Watcher, Bleak Watcher where you can convert your grenade into a Stasis turret that fires slowing projectiles at nearby targets. This means we can throw one grenade to create a turret and control the battlefield, and another grenade can be kept for slowing enemies.

Given the amount of control we have over enemies, this is going to be useful in endgame content like Grandmaster Nightfalls, Raids and Dungeons. This is going to make your life easier if you are trying to solo a Dungeon, or if you are in a GM with a fire team, keeping champions or other dangerous enemies like Wyverns back and frozen in place is going to help everyone.

Supporting the main focus of the build, Osmiomancy Gloves, we want to make sure we’re getting as much grenade energy back as possible, plus powering up our damage output via Elemental Wells. For example, if you have a demolitionist perk on your kinetic and power weapon that is really going to help. Demolitionist is going to give us grenade energy when you get kills with the weapon. Also, if you are throwing grenades you are creating Elemental Wells with those grenades, and when you pick those up you’ll activate font of might, meaning a 20% boost to damage output. Given the Fervid Coldsnap perk on Osmiomancy Gloves, a direct hit with the grenade means almost instant respawn, so if you connect with your grenades you can chain them together one after the other.

The weapons for the build are put together based on champion mods this season, and also the stasis damage type. For example, this week’s Nightfall had Barrier and Overload Champions. Therefore, I’m using an Overload machine gun for my Chain of Command, which is also a Stasis weapon. I’m also using Perses-D to help take care of Barrier champs with Anti-Barrier Scout Rifles. In the energy slot, I am using Vex Mythoclast, as this has the sheer power to overwhelm most enemies, plus you have the rapid-fire nature of an auto rifle (but it’s a fusion rifle), and you have the alternate firing mode of a Linear Fusion Rifle for the big damage. In almost all situations it can overpower enemies, and sometimes champions. If you are able to use Vex, then I would, as it gives the build a nice fire and ice feeling to it. If you don’t have this one, another Exotic energy weapon you enjoy using would be just fine. The weapons here are down to personal preference and what activities you are doing at the time, given the build is baes around grenades, stasis and Osmiomancy Gloves.

Finally, the mods. As mentioned I’m using elemental well mods to trigger Font of Might, but also there’s something in here I don’t really use a lot with another subclass 3.0 builds, and that’s because it’s a stasis-specific mod, and that’s Elemental Shards. This is where Stasis Shards count as Stasis Elemental Wells for you. This works well with the aspect Glacial Harvest, where freezing targets create Stasis shards around the frozen targets. Higher-tier combatants create more shards. This is going to be great in Nightfall content when you have a lot of higher-tier enemies. Plus Whisper of Rime, collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, which falls off after 10 seconds. Collecting additional shards adds to the overshield and refreshes the timer. Again, this overshield is going to be valuable in endgame content to give you that extra protection.

Let me know in the comments what you think of the build, and let me know if you have any improvements.
