Warlock Arc 3.0 Build with Verity’s Brow in Destiny 2

Warlock’s have lots of good builds when it comes to Arc 3.0, but this one today may be the best. This is all about getting as many grenades as possible and keeping that grenade energy up almost 100% of the time. When combined with the right weapons, aspects, fragments and mods, this build can easily be taken into the endgame, so you can farm those nightfalls for that endgame loot.

Without further delay let’s dive into the build.

Arc 3.0 Setup

Super: Chaos Reach
Grenade: Arc Bolt
Melee: Chain Lightning
Class Ability: Healing Rift

Aspects

Arc Soul – Cast your Rift to create an Arc Soul that fires at targets in front of you. Allies can pass through your Rift to get an Arc Soul. Your Rift charges faster when allies are near. While amplified, your Arc Souls are supercharged and gain an increased fire rate.

Electrostatic Mind – Defeating targets with Arc abilities or defeating jolted or blinded targets creates an Ionic Trace. Collecting an Ionic Trace makes you amplified.

Fragments

Spark of Shock – Your arc grenade jolts targets.
Spark of Ions – Defeating a jolted target creates an Ionic Trace.
Spark of Discharge – Arc weapon final blows have a chance to create an Ionic Trace.
Spark of Recharge – While critically wounded, your melee and grenade energy regenerate more quickly.

Exotic Armor – Verity’s Brow

Verity’s Brow is an Exotic Warlock Helmet

The Fourth Magic – Weapon final blows with a damage type matching your subclass energy grant Death Throes, which provides a grenade damage bonus and grants you grenade energy. When you have Death Throes and throw a grenade, nearby allies gain greatly increased grenade regeneration for a short time.

Mobility Enhancement Mod – Increased mobility.

Get this one from Xur or Nightfalls as a random exotic drop.

Weapons

Kinetic – Arbalest

Arbalest is an Exotic Kinetic Linear Fusion Rifle and it comes with the perks:

Compounding Force – Fires slugs that cause massive damage to elemental shields of enemy combatants.

Disruption Break – Breaking an enemy’s shield with this weapon makes them more vulnerable to Kinetic damage for a brief period.

You can get this from random exotic engrams or from Xur either when he’s selling it, or from his exotic engram.

Energy – Tarnished Mettle

Tarnished Mettle is a Legendary Energy Scout Rifle with a Lightweight Framemeaning it has superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped. This comes with the Origin Trait Right Hook, where dealing melee damage gives the weapon increased target acquisition and range for a short period of time. Dealing with melee damage again extends the effect.

Power – Planck’s Stride

This is an Arc Machine Gun added in Season of Plunder. It’s got great DPS, plus it’s Arc, which is what you need for a decent Arc build. You can also use Overload machine gun mod on this one, making it great for endgame content this season.

Mods

  • Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
  • Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.
  • Font of Might – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage
  • Lightning Strikes Twice – After throwing an Arc grenade, gain increased grenade recharge for a short time. Arc final blows extend the duration of this benefit.

Gameplay Loop

This build is all about charging up our grenades nice and quickly, so we can throw multiple grenades causing damage to everything around us. Our grenades are charging up so quickly, it almost feels like you never run out.

The build is focused on Verity’s Brow and the perk The Fourth Magic. This is where the weapon final blows with a damage type matching your subclass energy grant Death Throes, which provides a grenade damage bonus and grants you grenade energy. When you have Death Throes and throw a grenade, nearby allies gain greatly increased grenade regeneration for a short time. Therefore, you’re not only powering up your grenades but also your fireteam too.

This is one of the reasons why I’m using Arc weapons for the build, to complement the exotic armour and power up grenades. Arc weapons are also good, given I am using an Arc subclass, for the creation of Elemental Wells, which means every time I use a grenade, I’m going to generate multiple wells, which grants font of might, providing a 20% damage increase to overall output for a short time. Given we’re throwing grenades all the time, that means that a 20% damage increase is pretty much there all the time too.

I’m also using Lightning Strikes Twice, which is an artefact mod in Season of Plunder. This is where after throwing an Arc grenade, gain increased grenade recharge for a short time. Arc final blows extend the duration of this benefit. We’re not only gaining grenade energy through our exotic perk on Verity’s Brow but also through this perk. Spark of Recharge is also being used in our Arc 3.0 kit while critically wounded, your melee and grenade energy regenerate more quickly.

I’m using 3 fragments to improve things; Spark of Shock, your arc grenade jolts targets. Spark of Ions, defeating a jolted target creates an Ionic Trace. Spark of Discharge, arc weapon final blows has a chance to create an Ionic Trace. By jolting targets you’re going to easily chain lightning attacks together, further improving the arc damage you’re applying to enemies. Ionic Traces are good because that helps get grenade energy back too.

Let me know in the comments what you think of the build, and let me know if you have any improvements.
