Hunter Arc 3.0 Build with Raiden Flux in Destiny 2

Raiden Flux has always been a favourite for Arc Hunters, but now with the release of Arc 3.0, this Exotic Chest armour for Hunters becomes even better and more deadly. Today I am going to put together a Hunter Arc 3.0 build that’s going to allow you to tear through enemies, like a hot knife through butter. I’ll go through the Arc 3.0 setup, the aspects, fragments, weapons, Exotic armour and mods, so you can build an electrifying Arc Hunter in Destiny 2.

Arc 3.0 Setup

Super: Arc Staff
Grenade: Skip Grenade
Melee: Combination Blow
Class Ability: Gambler’s Dodge

Aspects

Flow State – Defeating a jolted target makes you amplified. While you are amplified, your dodge recharges more quickly, you are more resilient while dodging, and your reload speed is greatly increased.

Lethal Current – After dodging, your next melee attack has increased lunge range, jolts the target, and creates a damaging aftershock. Damaging any jolted target with melee attacks also blinds them.

Fragments

Spark of Shock – Your arc grenade jolts targets.
Spark of Ions – Defeating a jolted target creates an Ionic Trace.
Spark of Recharge – While critically wounded, your melee and grenade energy regenerate more quickly.
Spark of Resistance – When surrounded by enemies, the player has increased damage resistance.

Exotic Armor – Raiden Flux

Raiden Flux is an Exotic Hunter Chest Armor

  • Synapse Junctions – Quick successive attacks with Arc Staff increase its damage output and duration.
  • Plasteel Reinforcement Mod – Increased resilience.

You can get this from Xur or from Nightfalls as an Exotic drop.

Weapons

The key thing with the weapons is to have the perk Demolitionist, and if you have one with Adrenaline Junkie too, then even better. Demolitionist is where kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves. Using weapons with demolitionist is going to help us keep up our grenades pretty much all the time and take advantage of Probability Matrix on our exotic armour.

Kinetic – Riptide

Riptide is a Legendary Fusion Rifle dealing Stasis damage with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning it has deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when the magazine is empty. Auto-loading Holster, Chill Clip would be a decent roll – Direct hits with the top half of the magazine cause a detonation that slows nearby targets. This gives the build a fire and ice quality.

Energy – Insidious

Insidious is a Legendary Energy Pulse Rifle that is Aggressive Burst, meaning it’s a hard-hitting four-burst fire. Insidious is fairly unique among Pulse Rifles given it’s aggressive frame with a four-round burst rather than three. This one is an arc weapon, therefore very good for Arc builds. I have one with demolitionist and adrenaline junkie, which is perfect for the build. Also, good for unstoppable champions this season. You can get this one from the Vow of the Disciple Raid on Savathun’s Throne World. If you don’t have this one, then any arc energy weapon with a demolitionist is just fine.

Power – Anarchy

Anarchy is an exotic, power grenade launcher that features Arc Traps. These are grenades that stick to surfaces and chain arc bolts to other mines. It’s great for DPS and will help you take down dungeon and raid bosses in no time at all, so it’s definitely a good one to pick up. Anarchy once dominated the game for a long period of time, it was nerfed in Season 15, but it has grown in popularity again given the emergence of Arc 3.0.

Mods

Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.

Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.

Font of Wisdom – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants you a temporary significant increase in your Intellect, improving the recharge rate of your Super.

Lightning Strikes Twice – After throwing an Arc grenade, gain increased grenade recharge for a short time. Arc final blows extend the duration of this benefit.

Unstoppable Pulse / Anti-Barrier Scout Rifle

Gameplay loop

  1. Throw Grenades
  2. Generate Elemental Wells
  3. Power up your super
  4. Unleash super
  5. Throw more grenades
  6. Jolt targets and regenerate grenade and super energy
  7. Repeat

This build has two main themes; Grenades and Supers. The build is focused around the Exotic armour, Raiden Flux which has the perk Synapse Junctions where quick successive attacks with Arc Staff increase its damage output and duration. This means as long as you are getting kills them your super is going to last longer, and you are going to be able to cause more damage to all enemies that get in your way. I’m also using Font of Might to help generate super energy quickly, so we can repeat that all over again. With font of might, this is a buff acquired when you pick up an elemental well that matches your subclass element. Therefore, given I am using an Arc subclass, I want to be generating Arc elemental wells, and that’s going to boost intellect stats, meaning faster super regen, and therefore taking advantage of Synapse Junctions on Raiden Flux.

Next, let’s have a look at the grenades. I’m using a skip grenade here in this build, given you can throw it in the general direction of the enemies, it’s going to split into multiple projectiles and then track enemies. Lightning Strikes Twice is an artifact mod that helps us regenerate grenade energy very quickly, plus we have spark of recharge through arc 3.0, meaning when we are wounded, grenade energy is going to increase again. Both of these things together should mean very fast grenades, meaning you can throw more, causing more damage.

Arc grenades also Jolt targets, meaning you will be able to chain lightning from jolted targets. Then by defeating a jolted target we’re going to generate an Ionic trace, once again helping us get our grenade energy back quicker, which makes for a nice gameplay loop. I’m also using Arc weapons here in the energy and power slots. My arc energy Pulse Rifle also has Demolitionist on it, which again, is going to help regenerate grenade energy.

Let me know in the comments what you think of the build and let me know if you have any improvements.
