Season of the Plunder

Titan Arc 3.0 Build with Point-Contact Canon Brace Brace in Destiny 2

Titans have also been happiest when they are punching their way through opponents, and this season they have been given the perfect exotic for that very job called Point-Contact Canon Brace. This works hand in hand with Arc 3.0, and this means you can deliver huge Thunderclaps that deal massive damage, flattening everything that gets in your way. Point-Contact Canon Brace had a lacklustre intro to the Destiny community, however, I’m going to show you how to make the most of it with supporting weapons, aspects, fragments and mods in Destiny 2.

Arc 3.0 Setup

Super: Thundercrash
Grenade: Storm – A grenade that calls down a focused lightning storm.
Melee: Thunderclap
Class Ability: Towering Barricade

Aspects

Knockout – Critically wounding a target or breaking their shield infuses your melee attacks with Arc energy and increases your melee range and damage for a short time. Defeating targets with melee attacks starts health regeneration and makes you amplified.

Touch of Thunder – Your Flashbang, Pulse, Lightning, and Storm Grenades have enhanced functionality. Storm Grenade: After detonating, creates a roaming thundercloud that tracks nearby targets and fires bolts of lightning at foes beneath it.

Fragments

Spark of Resistance – While surrounded by combatants, you are more resistant to incoming damage.
Spark of Magnitude – Your lingering Arc grenades (Lightning Grenade, Pulse Grenade, and Storm Grenade) have extended duration.
Spark of Recharge – While critically wounded, your melee and grenade energy regenerate more quickly.
Spark of Discharge – Arc weapon final blows have a chance to create an Ionic Trace.

Exotic Armor – Point-Contact Canon Brace

Point-Contact Canon Brace are Exotic Titan Gauntlets and come with the perk Hammer of the Gods.

Hammer of the Gods – Defeating targets with your Thunderclap melee restores melee energy. Targets near you when you use your Thunderclap suffer lightning strikes; being amplified increases the range of these lightning strikes.

To get these exotic gauntlets, do Legend or Master Lost Sectors solo as a Titan on arms day. You can use todayindestiny.com to find out which Lost Sector is the featured one, and what loot is available.

Weapons

Kinetic – Variable

In the Kinetic slot you’ll want to use something you can take care of champions with. This season for Anti-Barrier we have Scout Rifles and Auto Rifles. For Unstoppable we have Pulse Rifles, and Bows we have Overload. Given we’re taking care of Overload Champions with our Machine Gun, then pick between a Scout, Pulse and Auto Rifle. My personal pick here is New Purpose for Unstoppable Champions.

New Purpose is a High-Impact Frame Pulse Rifle meaning it’s slow-firing and high-damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. New Purpose also deals stasis damage.

For PVE Arrowhead Brake, High-Calibre Rounds, Feeding Frenzy and Desperado. Feeding Frenzy – Each rapid kill with this weapon progressively increases reload speed for a short time. Desperado – Reloading after a precision final blow increases your rate of fire.

If a Scout Rifle is needed then I’ll turn to my Firefly Hung Jury. The thing to do is check which Champion Mods you need and then match the weapon to the champions in the activity.

Energy – Delicate Tomb

Delicate Tomb is an Exotic Energy Fusion Rifle and comes with the perk Traitor’s Vessel.

Traitor’s Vessel – Fires a wide horizontal spread when shot from the hip. Final blows with this weapon have a chance to generate Ionic Traces. Powerful foes and opposing Guardians always generate Ionic Traces.

Tempest Cascade – Collecting an Ionic Trace overcharges this weapon’s next shot, jolting targets on hit.

Power – Chain Of Command

This is the ritual weapon for Season of the Haunted, and comes with a good selection of perks. We have Adrenaline Junkie, Demolitionist, Osmosis and Adaptive Munitions. I’m going for Osmosis and Adaptive Munitions.

Osmosis – Using your grenade ability changes this weapon’s damage type to match your subclass until you stow it.
Adaptive Munitions – This weapon adapts its damage output and effectiveness against energy shields that don’t match the weapon’s damage type.

Mods

  • Melee Wellmaker – Powered melee combatant final blows spawn elemental wells matching your subclass energy type.
  • Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.
  • Well of Striking – Picking up an Arc elemental well grants you additional melee energy. Multiple copies of this mod increase this effect.
  • Outreach – Reduces melee cooldown when using your class ability.
  • Distribution – Reduces all ability cooldowns when using your class ability near targets.
  • Antibarrier Scout or Unstoppable Pulse
  • Overload Machine Gun

Gameplay loop

  • Smash enemies with a charged melee
  • Generate Lightning Strikes
  • Get Amplified and generate elemental wells
  • Recharge that melee energy
  • Punch again!
  • Create a roaming storm cloud
  • Take out champs if needed with kinetic and power weapons
  • More punching and repeat

This build is focused around the Exotic Armor Point-Contact Canon Brace, these are exotic gauntlets for the Titan introduced in Season of Plunder. The main perk related to these exotic gauntlets is Hammer of the Gods where defeating targets with your Thunderclap melee restores melee energy. Targets near you when you use your Thunderclap suffer lightning strikes; being amplified increases the range of these lightning strikes.

Given the exotic perk is centred around the ability to Thunderclap, which is a charged melee ability, I am going to be focused the rest of the build related to melee abilities, whether that be an increase to the charge rate of melee or by producing elemental wells off the back of melee strikes. The idea is to melee as much as possible and live out the true dream of every Titan.

First of all, let’s focus on the melee recharge. Spark of Recharge is good which means while critically wounded, your melee and grenade energy regenerate more quickly, so if you’re under attack then it’s likely your melee will recharge nicely and quickly. I am also using Melee Wellmaker and Bountiful Wells to create Elemental Wells. Then using Well of Striking, that’s going to top up melee energy. Also, if you defeat targets with Thunderclap, that’s going to restore melee energy. All of this added up means you’ll have near-constant powered melee abilities.

Next, the supporting Arc 3.0 elements. We’re going to be using storm grenades, as these are the best grenades for a titan, creating a roaming storm cloud that follows enemies and kills them, this is invaluable for Titans, and gives them an advantage. We also want to become amplified as much as possible, because that’s going to increase the range of these lightning strikes from Hammer of the Gods. With knockout, defeating targets with melee attacks starts health regeneration and makes you amplified, which means our first melee is going to hit hard, but the second one is going to hit harder.

Let me know in the comments what you think of the build, and share any improvements.
