How to get Mindbender’s Ambition (Legendary Shotgun) Plus God Roll Guide in Destiny 2

Mindbender’s Ambition is back in Destiny 2 after dominating PVP for years. It’s back, and this time it’s a Vanguard weapon which you can get from Nightfall Strikes in Season of Plunder. Today I’m going to check out Mindbender’s Ambition, look at the stats, the perks, the god rolls to chase for PVP and PVE, plus how to get Mindbender’s Ambition in Destiny 2.

How to get Mindbender’s Ambition

To get Mindbender’s Ambition you’ll need to run Nightfalls and it’s a random reward from the end of the activity. Also, Mindbender’s Ambition won’t be available every week, so you only want to go for this weapon when Mindbender’s Ambition is in rotation. I do a Destiny 2 Weekly Reset Guide each week on Tuesday, so subscribe to never miss a Nightfall update. At the time of making this guide, it’s available right now, so get out there and grab Mindbender’s Ambition.

Mindbender’s Ambition

Mindbender’s Ambition is a Legendary Energy Shotgun with an Aggressive Frame meaning it’s a hard-hitting, high recoil. Increases rate of fire after a kill. Looking at the stats we have Impact 80, Range 29, Stability 29, Handling 31, Reload Speed 39, Rounds Per Minute 55 and Magazine 5.

Mindbender’s Ambition was the shotgun that used to terrorise everyone in PVP. Thankfully, it’s not quite as dominant as it was, plus it’s going to be great for solar builds given the perks. It has a couple of good options like Incandescent and Pugilist which are relatively new perks. Even though it’s not what it was, it’s still a great-looking and great-feeling weapon and would take pride of place in any loadout.

We also have a couple of origin traits, Stunning Recovery and Vanguard’s Vindication.

  • Stunning Recovery – Stunning a Champion partially refills your magazine, triggers health regeneration and improves recovery for a short duration.
  • Vanguard’s Vindication – Final blows with this weapon grant a small amount of health.

Mindbender’s Ambition God Roll Guide

For PVE Corkscrew Rifling, Assault Mag, Threat Detector, and Rampage would be a good roll.

  • Corkscrew Rifling – Increase to the range, stability, and handling.
  • Assault Mag – Increase to Stability and +10 Rounds per Minute.
  • Threat Detector – Increased reload, stability, and handling when enemies are in close proximity.
  • Rampage – Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Stacks 3x.

If you are into melee builds you also have the option for Pugilist and One-Two Punch.

  • Pugilist – Final blows with this weapon generate melee energy. Dealing melee damage briefly improves this weapon’s handling.
  • One-two Punch – Hitting an enemy with every pellet in a shot increases melee damage for a short duration.

There’s also the option for Auto-loading Holster and Incandescent.

For PVP Smallbore, Assault Mag, Snapshot Sights, and Rampage would be good.

  • Smallbore – Increase range and Stability.
  • Assault Mag – Increase to Stability and +10 Rounds per Minute.
  • Snapshop Sights – Faster time to aim down sights.
  • Rampage – Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Stacks 3x.
