Season of the Plunder

How to get Tarnished Mettle (Legendary Scout Rifle) Plus God Roll Guide in Destiny 2

Tarnished Mettle is a new Scout Rifle added to Destiny 2 as part of Season of Plunder. This one comes with some great, new perks, great for Arc 3.0 builds, plus the origin trait leans into close-range melee combat. Today I am going to check out the weapon, look at the perks, the stats and the god rolls to chase for PVE and PVP, plus look at how to get Tarnished Mettle in Destiny 2.

How to get Tarnished Mettle

To get this one you’ll have to own Season of Plunder and take part in seasonal activities like Ketchcrash and Expeditions. Tarnished Mettle is a potential reward for these activities. You can also focus Umbral Engrams at the H.E.L.M. via the Star Chart to get Tarnished Mettle, although you’ll need to upgrade the Star Chart first. This weapon is also craftable, but you’ll need to collect a number of red-bordered weapons first and level them up before it can be crafted. With seasonal weapons, you normally need 5, so I imagine it’s the same for these

Tarnished Mettle

Tarnished Mettle is a Legendary Energy Scout Rifle with a Lightweight Framemeaning it has superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped. Looking at the stats we have Impact 60, Range 30, Stability 33, Handling 66, Reload Speed 53, Rounds Per Minute 200, and Magazine 16.

This comes with the Origin Trait Right Hook, where dealing melee damage gives the weapon increased target acquisition and range for a short period of time. Dealing melee damage again extends the effect.

Scout Rifles got a nice buff in Season of Plunder. Plus Tarnished Mettle gets a new perk, which makes the weapon very desirable. That one is Voltshot, where reloading after a kill overcharges the weapon, causing it to jolt enemies on it’s next hit. This is going to be great for Arc 3.0 builds, and much like Incandescent works with Solar builds, this works with Arc.

Tarnished Mettle God Roll Guide

For PVE Smallbore, Tactical Mag, Demolitionist, Voltshot would be good.

  • Smallbore – Increases range, Increases stability
  • Tactical Mag – Slightly increases stability, Increases reload speed, Slightly increases magazine size
  • Demolitionist – Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves.
  • Voltshot – Reloading this weapon after defeating a target overcharges this weapon for a short period of time, causing it to jolt on its next hit.

For PVP Smallbore, Accurized Rounds, Moving Target, Explosive Payload would be good.

  • Smallbore – Increases range, Increases stability
  • Accurized Rounds – Increases range
  • Moving Target – Increased movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down sights.
  • Explosive Payload – Projectiles create an area-of-effect detonation on impact.
