How to get Quicksilver Storm (Exotic Auto Rifle) Lightfall Pre-order Bonus in Destiny 2

Quicksilver Storm is a Lightfall weapon already accessible in Destiny 2 right now. This is a new Auto Rifle, with tech we’ve never seen before in Destiny 2, and you can get your hands on it right now. This is an Auto Rifle, that also fires micro missiles, plus turns into a grenade launcher at the same time, so it’s kind of crazy. Today I am going to walk you through how to get this weapon, plus have a look at the exotic perks and give you a demo of Quicksilver Storm in Destiny 2.

How to get Quicksilver Storm

Quicksilver Storm is a bonus for pre-ordering Lightfall + Annual Pass in Destiny 2. You can pre-order via Bungie’s website, or on the platform of your choice (PC, PlayStation and Xbox). Once you have completed the pre-order you’ll then have the pre-order bonuses added to your game, which you can access today, before Lightfall. You will need to go to Master Rahool in the Tower and then pick up your pre-order bonus items. That includes the Exotic Auto Rifle Quicksilver Storm, plus you’ll get an Exotic Emote, Shader and Ghost Shell too.

Once you finish that pre-order if Quicksilver Storm isn’t showing up then you may want to restart Destiny 2. Also, if you order through Bungie’s Store, you may have to wait 24 hours for the game code to be delivered. For example, I play on PC via Steam, and I had to wait 24 hours for the code to be emailed to me. Not a major issue, but something to be aware of.

Quicksilver Storm Catalyst

Currently, the Quicksilver Storm is not available at the time of making this guide. It’s possible that the catalyst will be added to the game when Lightfall releases on 28th February 2023.

Quicksilver Storm

Quicksilver Storm is an Exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle. Looking at the stats we have Impact 18, Range 40, Stability 85, Handling 48, Reload Speed 54, Rounds Per Minute 720 and Magazine 51.

It comes with the perks:

  • Rocket Tracers – Landing multiple hits turns your next shot into a homing micro-rocket.
  • Grenade Chaser – Landing multiple rockets loads a grenade. [Alternate Weapon Action] to switch into Grenade Launcher mode.

This Exotic Auto Rifle feels great. It’s got great stability stats at 85, so feels very solid. This season too we have Anti Barrier Auto Rifles, so that’s a good time to get using Quicksilver Storm.

In the lore, Elsie Bray and her sidekick Fish Ghost discuss the fact we’ve never seen tech like this before, and it outperforms SIVA in nearly all scenarios. As well as decent lore, the fact this weapon fires micro-missiles and can be turned into a grenade launcher on command makes it a very useful weapon in many scenarios. While it’s not the greatest DPS in the game, it is up there with its grenade rounds.

Comparing Exotic Preorder Bonuses we’ve had No Time to Explain with Beyond Light and Osteo Striga with Witch Queen. We’ve never been able to access the Exotic weapon before the release of the expansion before, so this gives us a little insight into what to expect from Lightfall, coming in February 2023.
