How to get the Flamekeeper Title during Solstice in Destiny 2
The Flamekeeper Title is the newest seal to be added to Destiny 2, and it’s a good way of showing off your event prowess to the other Guardians out there. We only have 20 days to get through this hefty checklist of tasks, so if you want to get hold of this title before the event goes away on August 9th, I’d recommend getting started right away. Today I am going to run through all the triumphs needed for the new Solstice Flamekeeper Title, so you can show it off to your fellow Guardians in the Tower.
With the arrival of Solstice 2022 comes the event card, and that can be accessed from Eva Levante or in your quests tab. Run through the quick introduction quest mission for Solstice to get started, and once you’ve finished that and got some kindling, you’re ready to tackle the to-do list of the Flamekeeper title. You can always check your progress from the Triumphs tab located next to your character customisation screen, then select the Flamekeeper title at the bottom.
All of the requirements are laid out in front of you in-game; you’re going to need to play plenty of Bonfire Bash, but also get Guardian kills, complete public events, patrols, Strikes, Nightfalls, Dares of Eternity, Crucible and Gambit matches. Pretty much all activities in the game are covered, plus there are Solar ability kills, hand cannon and shotgun kills. Solstice of Heroes has always been a grind, but Solstice may have stepped it up a level, I’m looking at you 25 Gambit matches!
One good piece of news is that you can already guild the title. The title is going to make a return every year. Most seasons have an event like Guardian Games, Festival of the Lost and The Dawning making up the main seasonal events. There are four additional challenges to complete once you have the Title complete; one auto-completes when you finish the seal triumphs and then you have to complete a few more.
Here’s how to complete the Flamekeeper Triumphs.
Flamekeeper Triumphs
Some tips before you start
- Try to use a shotgun and hand cannon from the start, this is going to help you later with the Hand Lighter and SHotgun Solstice triumphs which require kills with those weapons. Using them from the start gives you a headstart for triumphs later in the checklist and doubling up where possible speeds things up.
- When you need kills try farming Lost Sectors and Public events, this is going to double up with weapon and location kills – in particular on the Throne World.
Bashing Success: Complete the Bonfire Bash activity.
This one is nice and straightforward, and you’ll complete this during the tutorial with Eva Levante. Speak to Eva, pick up your armour set and then complete Bonfire Bash for this triumph.
Good Ignite: Defeat 20 Ignition Carriers in the Bonfire Bash.
Ignition Carriers are the mini-bosses in Bonfire Bash that have the glowing Orbs, defeat 20 of these to complete this Triumph. This is likely to take a few runs.
Torch the Taken: Defeat 20 Taken in the Bonfire Bash.
When you throw a few orbs into the Bonfire, Taken will spawn at the edge of the map. You want to defeat 20 of these Taken to complete the challenge.
Fuel for the Fire: Stoke 50 flames in the Bonfire Bash.
You’ll want to throw 50 orbs into the Bonfire to complete this triumph. This is likely to take a few runs of Bonfire Bash, so keep going and you’ll get 50 after a few completions of Bonfire Bash.
Ash Tray: Collect 500 Silver Ash.
Silver Ash drops at the end of Bonfire Bash, when you convert your Silver Leaves. Make sure you’re wearing your Solstice armour to earn Silver leaves completing activities, then head into Bonfire Bash to collect 500 Silver Ash.
All Around the Bonfire: Complete the Bonfire Bash activity against all combatant races twice.
When you load into Bonfire Bash it’s RNG to determine which enemy race you’ll face, and you’ll need to defeat them all twice – Cabal, Hive and Fallen. You can always start and leave Bonfire Bash to get to the enemy race you want to race if you are having trouble with the enemies given to you.
Fuel for the Fire II: Stoke 100 flames in the Bonfire Bash.
This is much like the original Fuel for the Fire triumph, only you need to complete more. Throw as many orbs as possible into the Bonfire and really focus on this during Bonfire Bash to get it done as fast as possible. You’ll need to throw 100 to complete the triumph.
Fuel for the Fire III: Stoke 150 flames in the Bonfire Bash.
Same as before, but this time you’ll need to complete 150 orbs. Throw as many orbs as possible into the Bonfire and really focus on this during Bonfire Bash to get it done as fast as possible. You’ll need to throw 150 to complete the triumph. This one also gives you an Exotic Sparrow.
Like Wildfire: Defeat targets anywhere in the system. Defeating Guardians awards bonus progress.
This one is an odd one. It doesn’t give you a target, so it’s best to leave until near the end, you can always top it off if you haven’t completed it by completing the others at Shuri Chi or Altars of Sorrow, anywhere you like completing catalysts. PVP playlists are good for Guardian Kills, or Rumble.
Pyromania: Defeat combatants with Solar abilities.
Put on your best Solar 3.0 build and get those kills with abilities like charged melee and grenades.
Superlative: Defeat targets with Super abilities.
Roaming supers are good for this triumph, plus if you are a Warlock then you’re in luck as a weapon kills inside the well of radiance will count as super kills. Otherwise, pick any long supers and use Elemental Well mods like Font of Wisdom to get more Super energy back faster. Hunters should use golden gun Deadshot with Ember of Combustion, Titans can use hammers or Sentinel Shield with Doomfang Pauldrons and Warlocks should use Starfire Protocol with Well of Radiance.
Fire Power: Defeat combatants or opposing Guardians with Power weapons.
Gambit is a great source of Heavy Ammo crates, during each round the heavy will respawn, plus you have Dares of Eternity, that’s a great source of infinite heavy ammo if you can get Starhorses favour.
Forged in Flames: Defeat 100 opposing Guardians in any activity.
Crucible is going to be your best bet here. Rotating playlists are good, Mayhem is best if it’s available. Otherwise, Rumble and quickplay are going to be your fastest route to 100 kills. If you don’t like Crucible, stick with your teammates and copy what they are doing, team shooting enemies, as you’ll get rewarded for assists. Pulse Rifles and Scout Rifles are good if you want to hang back.
Hand Lighter: Defeat targets with Hand Cannons.
This one is nice and simple, get hand cannon kills in any activity. When you are doing the other triumphs use a hand cannon, that’s going to help progress for you to double up on objectives. Catalyst farming locations could be good here too, Shuro Chi in the Last Wish Raid or Altars of Sorrow, given you have infinite primary ammo. Just make sure to remember to use a hand cannon and you’ll get this done quickly.
Shotgun Solstice: Defeat targets with Shotguns.
This is the same as the previous one, get shotgun kills in any activities. Use catalyst farming locations if you need to. Remember to use shotgun and hand cannons throughout, as you’ll get this done faster by doubling up. Farming public events and Lost Sectors are good, for example on the EDZ and Europa.
Raking the Coals: Complete playlist activities to earn Silver Leaves.
Complete playlist activities like Vanguard Ops, Crucible and Gambit for this one, each will give 4 silver leaves minimum. Witch Queen campaign missions are also good. Wear at least one piece of Solstice armour to get Silver leaves. You’ll need somewhere between 5-10 activity completions. Vanguard Ops or PVP playlists are good, like Momentum Control or Mayhem.
Solstice Jubilee: Complete Public Events on any destination to earn Silver Leaves.
Public events can be found in any location, and these are indicated by the blue icon. Trigger the Heroic Public event and you’ll get 10% per activity completion, meaning you’ll need to do 10 heroic public events, or more if you don’t do the heroic version. You can complete these on any planet although the EDZ has the most.
Lamplighter: Complete Patrols on any destination to earn Silver Leaves.
Complete Patrols for this one, and again, you’ll get 10% per Patrol, meaning you need to complete 10. The EDZ and Nessus have a lot of patrols that are simple, ideally, you want Patrols where you have to kill enemies, not the scouting missions.
Dare to Dream: Complete runs of the Blind Well or Dares of Eternity to earn Silver Leaves.
Blind Well is open the Dreaming City and Dares of Eternity can be selected by the Director. Dares runs give you 25% per activity completion, and are probably shorter than Blind Well, so I would run Dares. Double up this triumph by doing the jumps and getting Star Horses’ favour for the Power Weapon kills triumph.
Brightfall: Complete Vanguard Ops or Nightfalls to earn Silver Leaves.
This is perhaps the most time-consuming triumph, you’ll need to complete just over 10 nightfalls. You can make this easier and faster by running Adept Nightfalls.
Fires of Competition: Complete matches in Crucible or Gambit playlists to earn Silver Leaves.
This is another time-consuming one; 25 Gambit Matches or 25 Crucible matches. Grit your teeth and get stuck into it, and it won’t take long to complete. Crucible is quicker than Gambit, so if you are conscious of time, then I recommend running this activity, although if you really hate Crucible, then jump into Gambit. Beware though, that’s a LOT of Gambit.
A Spark in the Dark: Complete Sever missions or rounds of Altars of Sorrow to earn Silver Leaves.
Sever missions are from Season of the Haunted. Each mission gives you 25% progress, and the shortest one is Resolve, which you can select from the menu, next to the moon. If you don’t have Season of the Haunted, then complete Altars of Sorrow, also on the moon.
In the Hot Seat: Complete activities within the Throne World to earn Silver Leaves.
Complete any activity counts towards this one. If you have done all the rest then farm Lost Sectors, Patrols, and Public events on the Throne World, and that will help you complete this final triumph nice and fast.
How to gild the Destiny 2 Flamekeeper title
After you have completed your checklist for the Flamekeeper title, there are a couple of more challenges to do, and some of them aren’t matchmade, so you’re going to need to find some fire teammates for this one.
- From the Ashes: Upgrade 12 pieces of Candescent Armor.
- Bonfire Dash: Fully stoke the bonfire in the Bonfire Bash activity.
- In Candescent: While wearing a set of fully rekindled Candescent armour, complete dungeons, raids, Master or Grandmaster Nightfalls, or win rounds in Trials of Osiris.
- Inextinguishable: Complete the Bonfire Bash activity without dying.
Let me know what you think of the Flamekeeper Seal grind, and let me know what you think of Solstice overall.
