How to get the Le Monarque Catalyst plus a Warlock Void 3.0 build in Destiny 2
Le Monarque has a catalyst which turns this already great exotic weapon into something even more deadly. Today I am going to run through how and where to get it, how to level it up quickly, plus put together a void 3.0 build, so you can run around in Destiny 2 as that deadly poisonous archer, dishing out arrows full of venom.
Before we get into the build, let’s check out the Le Monarque catalyst.
How to get the Le Monarque catalyst
To get this one, you’ll want to complete playlist activities like Strikes, Crucible and Gambit. It’s all down to luck as to whether this thing will drop you for. For me, I was playing Trials of Osiris, so it’s a good activity to do while doing something else. If you are specifically going after the catalyst I’d recommend farming Nightfalls, or when you are trying to get to rank 16 on your playlist of choice for the ritual weapon, that way you are doubling up.
How to level up the Le Monarque catalyst
To complete the catalyst you need to get 500 precision kills with Outbreak Perfected. You can do this in a number of places in the game, ideally where there are a lot of enemies.
I think the best place to go is the Shuro Chi location in the Last Wish Raid. To get there quickly you can enter with 4 at the wishing wall, and teleport to the Shuro Chi location. Once you are there you can use Outbreak Perfected to kill hundreds of Taken in minutes, plus you have infinite ammo, given it’s a primary weapon.
Another good place is the Altars of Sorrow, which can be found on the moon. The main issues with these locations are that other fire team members are going to be there, and they may be stealing your kills. Ideally, you want to be somewhere solo, so you can maximize your kills and get it done quickly.
If you have access to the 30th-anniversary pack then a relatively new farming location has been added to the game, with the start of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. Here you have multiple enemies, constantly respawning, which makes it nice and easy to power up catalysts. You can find this on the Cosmodrome.
What Does the Le Monarque Catalyst Do?
The Le Monarque catalyst gives you extra stats when it comes to stability and reload speed, 30 stability and 20 reload speed. Plus you also get the Unrelenting perk, which gives you health regeneration when you rapidly defeat targets. This is going to make an already solid weapon even better.
Le Monarque (why it’s good)
Le Monarque is an Exotic Energy Bow, with some deadly perks.
Poison Arrows – Arrows fired quickly after a full draw become poison arrows. Precision hits with poison arrows spread poison to nearby enemies.
Snapshot Sights – Faster time to aim down sights.
Next, let’s have a look at how to get Le Monarque after the Beyond Light update.
Le Monarque Warlock Void 3.0 build
Void 3.0 setup
Class Ability – Healing Rift
Super – Nova Bomb
Grenade – Vortex Grenade
Melee – Pocket Singularity
Aspects
Chaos Accelerant – Hold down the grenade button to overcharge your Vortex, Axion Bolt, Scatter, and Magnetic grenades. Magnetic grenades overcharge into Handheld Supernova.
Feed the Void – Defeat a target with a Void ability to activate Devour. While Devour is active, final blows restore health and extend Devour.
Fragments
- Expulsion – Void ability kills cause enemies to explode. Plus an Intellect bonus.
- Remnants – Your lingering grenade effects (Vortex Grenade, Void Wall, Void Spike, and Axion Bolt) have increased duration.
- Persistence – Void buffs applied to you (Invisibility, Overshield, and Devour) have increased duration.
Exotic Armour – Nezarec’s Sin
This is an exotic warlock helm and comes with the perk
Abyssal Extractors – Void-damage kills increase ability energy recharge rate.
Weapons
Kinetic – Austringer
Austringer is Legendary Kinetic Hand Cannon with an Adaptive Frame meaning it’s a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. You can get this one from Opulent Chests on the Leviathan.
Energy – Le Monarque
As described.
To get Le Monarque you can buy this from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower, which you can find next to the Vault and it’s called Monument to Lost Lights. Le Monarque will cost you:
1 x Exotic Cipher
125,000 x Glimmer
200 x Dusklight Shard
1 x Ascendant Shard
Power – Falling Guillotine
Falling Guillotine is a legendary sword that sits in the power weapon slot and deals void damage. It comes with Vortex Frame where you can launch a heavy spin attack and heavy attacks are stronger with full energy and attacks partially bypass elemental shields. Get this one from Banshee-44 when he’s selling it.
Mods
I’m using some basic Elemental Well mods
- Ashes to Assets – Gain bonus Super energy on grenade kills.
- Elemental Ordnance (3) – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
- Bountiful Wells – Elemental well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.
- Font of Might – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage of that same elemental type.
We’re creating elemental wells through our grenade kills and explosions. Bountiful Wells is going to give us more elemental wells for each instance of elemental ordnance we have, so every time we get a grande kill we’re getting two wells. Then we’re using Font of Might to boost our weapon damage, given we’re picking up Void elemental wells.
