How to get the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst Plus Fire-Nanite Warlock Solar 3.0 Build in Destiny 2

Outbreak Perfected’s Catalyst is back in the game after a lengthy absence. This was one of the most requested items, and Bungie put it back in the game, given the original Zero Hour Mission went into the Destiny Content Vault. Today I am going to run through how to get the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst these days, plus put together a Warlock Solar 3.0 Perfected Build, with Outbreak at the heart of it, bolstered by scorch abilities, which is going to turn you into a fiery-nanite death machine.

Outbreak Perfected

Outbreak Perfected is a fantastic Kinetic Pulse Rifle, mainly down to its perks. Let’s check them out in a little more detail.

  • The Corruption Spreads – This weapon creates SIVA nanite swarms on rapid hits and precision kills.
  • Parasitism – This weapon does more damage to enemies based on the number of SIVA nanites that attach to them.

The thing you notice with Outbreak Perfected is the speed this thing fires at, it’s very fast and very effective. The main perks are great for DPS by creating SIVA nanite swarms that attach to enemies. You can literally tear through enemies in Strikes, Nightfalls and Raids. As well as the Exotic perks it comes with Outlaw, where precision kills increase the reload speed.

How to get the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst

To get this one, you’ll want to complete playlist activities like Strikes, Crucible and Gambit. It’s all down to luck as to whether this thing will drop you for. For me, I was playing Trials of Osiris, so it’s a good activity to do while doing something else. If you are specifically going after the catalyst I’d recommend farming Nightfalls, or when you are trying to get to rank 16 on your playlist of choice for the ritual weapon, that way you are doubling up.

How to level up the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst

To complete the catalyst you need to get 500 precision kills with Outbreak Perfected. You can do this in a number of places in the game, ideally where there are a lot of enemies.

I think the best place to go is the Shuro Chi location in the Last Wish Raid. To get there quickly you can enter with 4 at the wishing wall, and teleport to the Shuro Chi location. Once you are there you can use Outbreak Perfected to kill hundreds of Taken in minutes, plus you have infinite ammo, given it’s a primary weapon.

Another good place is the Altars of Sorrow, which can be found on the moon. The main issues with these locations are that other fire team members are going to be there, and they may be stealing your kills. Ideally, you want to be somewhere solo, so you can maximize your kills and get it done quickly.

If you have access to the 30th-anniversary pack then a relatively new farming location has been added to the game, with the start of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. Here you have multiple enemies, constantly respawning, which makes it nice and easy to power up catalysts. You can find this on the Cosmodrome.

What does the Outbreak Perfected Catalyst Do?

The Outbreak Perfected Catalyst gives the weapon a new perk called Disease Vector. This powers up your nanites and allows them to do more damage. Plus, any enemies that die with nanites attached to them generate additional nanites, which means that infection is going to spread quickly. Needless to say, this improves Outbreak Perfected and its ability to clean out rooms of ads in seconds.

How to get Outbreak Perfected

Outbreak Perfected is arguably much easier to get these days. The Zero Hour mission was a whole lot of fun for sure, but it was inaccessibly for some folks. You can now buy the Exotic Pulse Rifle from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower, which you can find next to the Vault in the Tower called Monument to Lost Lights. Outbreak Perfected will cost you

1 x Exotic Cipher
150,000 Glimmer
250 x Dusklight Shard
2 x Ascendant Shards

Fire-nanite Warlock Solar 3.0 Build

This build is going to focus on Ophidian Aspect, Melee and Scorch regarding Solar 3.0. Our exotic gauntlets are going to allow us to ready and reload Outbreak Perfected very fast, getting off more damage and more nanites as often as possible. We’re going to then boost out damage output through scorch, solar 3.0 and mods, making this a very fun build if you are into Outbreak Perfected.

Ophidian Aspect

Cobra Totemic – Weapons are ready and reload very quickly. The melee range is extended. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.

Solar 3.0 Setup

Grenade – Fusion Grenade
Melee – Incincerator Snap
Class Ability – Empowering Rift
Super – Well of Radiance

Aspects

Touch of Flame – Your Healing, Solar, Firebolt, and Fusion Grenades have enhanced functionality. Healing Grenade has improved cure and restoration, Solar Grenade increases linger duration and fires blobs of lava, Firebolt Grenade increases target search radius and count, and Fusion Grenade explodes twice.

Icarus Dash – Dodge quickly while airborne. While Heat Rises is active, you have an additional dodge. While airborne, rapidly defeating targets with your Super or weapon grants Cure to you. A golden feather, drifting in the wind. One gust carries you where you need to go.

Fragments

Ember of Singeing – Your class ability recharges faster when you scorch targets.
Ember of Searing – Defeating scorched targets grants melee energy (+10 resilience)
Ember of Wonder – Rapidly defeating multiple targets with solar ignitions generates an Orb of Power. (+10 recovery)
Ember of Ashes – You apply more scorch stacks to targets.

What we want to do here is apply as many scorch stacks to targets through our grenade and melee abilities. We’re going to be destroying enemies with Outbreak Perfected, but our scorch stacks are going to accrue and enemies are going to explode in fire and nanites at the same time.

Weapons

Kinetic – Outbreak Perfected

As described already.

Energy – Calus Mini-tool

Calus Mini-Tool is a Legendary Energy Submachine Gun meaning it has superb handling. Move faster with this lightweight weapon equipped. I have one with Incandescent which means Defeating a target spreads scorch to those nearby. More powerful combatants and opposing Guardians cause scorch in a larger radius. This is going to help spread scorch even more.

Power – Hezen Vengeance

I’m using Hezen Vengeance in the power slot as I’ve got a roll with Auto-Loading Holster and Vorpal Weapon. Auto-Loading is great given it’s going to automatically reload when I am using my other weapons, allowing me to switch back and forth and always have a shot in the launcher ready to go for that big DPS.

Mods

Resilience & Restoration

  • Classy Restoration – Activating your Solar class abilities grants you Restoration.
  • Resilience (100 or as high as possible resilience)

Elemental Well Mods

  • Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
  • Font of Might – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage of that same elemental type.
  • Elemental Charge – Become Charged with Light by picking up an elemental well. If the elemental well’s element type matches your subclass element, you gain 2 stacks of Charged with Light.

Charge with Light

  • Swift Charge – Become Charged with Light by rapidly defeating combatants with Pulse Rifles, Sidearms, or Submachine Guns.
  • High Energy Fire – While Charged with Light, gain a bonus to weapon damage. Each defeated combatant consumes one stack of Charged with Light.
  • Anti Barrier Pulse (optional)
