Season of the Haunted

Infinite Grenades with Warlock Solar 3.0 Build and Sunbracers in Destiny 2

Solar 3.0 is here, and with it comes a whole load of new build potential within Destiny 2. Today I am going to check out a Warlock Solar 3.0 PVE build, and this is going to allow you to throw pretty much infinite grenades, allowing you to turn that floor into lava, destroying everything in your path. I’m going to run through the build including the Solar 3.0 setup including Aspects and Fragments, Exotic armour, weapons and mods.

This build is all about giving our Warlocks the ability to throw as many grenades as possible. This is made possible through the combination of our exotic armour, Sunbracers, and our combination of aspects and fragments with the Solar 3.0 rework. By combining these features together we’re going to be able to throw multiple grenades, creating walls of flame, which will incinerate enemies in seconds.

First of all, let’s have a look at the Solar 3.0 setup.

Solar 3.0

  • Super – Daybreak
  • Class Ability – Phoenix Dive
  • Melee – Incinerator Snap
  • Grenade – Solar Grenade

Touch of Flame – Your Healing, Solar, Firebolt, and Fusion Grenades have enhanced functionality. Healing Grenade has improved cure and restoration, Solar Grenade increases linger duration and fires blobs of lava, Firebolt Grenade increases target search radius and count, and Fusion Grenade explodes twice.

Heat Rises – You can fire weapons, melee, and throw grenades while gliding. Consumes grenade. Final blows while airborne increase the duration of Heat Rises and grant melee energy.

  • Ember of Searing – Defeating scorched targets grants melee energy
  • Ember of Torches – Powered melee attacks against combatants make you and nearby allies radiant.
  • Ember of Blistering – Defeating targets with Solar ignitions grants grenade energy.
  • Ember of Ashes – You apply more scorch stacks to targets.

This works pretty much out of the box, although you will need to purchase Ember of Searing from Ikora Rey in the Tower.

Solar Keywords

  • Ignite – A large, damaging Solar explosion in an area around the target.
  • Radiant – Your weapons are enhanced by the power of the Traveler and deal increased damage to foes.
  • Scorch – The target is singed by destructive Solar Light, taking damage over time. Scorch damage increases as the target accumulates more Scorch stacks. After 100 Scorch stacks are applied to the target, they Ignite.

The key here is Touch of Flame in combination with our Solar Grenade. The solar grenade now lingers and spouts lava, creating more damage against enemies. Heat Rises is good too, as this gives us the ability to hover above our enemies and rain down fire. By having Phoenix Dive, that allows us to get back on the ground quickly if we need to. Heat Rises gives us that in-air advantage over our enemies, but sometimes being in the air makes us a sitting duck. Phoenix Dive is useful, as it gives us that healing ability as well. So if we’re in trouble, we can heal quickly as well as create loads of damage.

Exotic Armour

Sunbracers are Exotic Warlock Gauntlets

  • Helium Spirals – Increases the duration of Solar Grenades. Solar melee kills grant unlimited Solar Grenade energy for a brief time.
  • Mobility Enhancement Mod – Increased mobility.

This is the key feature from the Exotic armour “Solar melee kills grant unlimited Solar Grenade energy for a brief time.” Now we have Incinerator Snap, this is going to allow us to kill enemies, and then we can unleash those Solar Grenades.

Kinetic – Austringer

Austringer is Legendary Kinetic Hand Cannon with an Adaptive Frame meaning it’s a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. You can get this one from Opulent Chests on the Leviathan.

Energy – Cartesian Coordinate

Cartesian Coordinate is a Legendary Energy Fusion Rifle with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning Deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when the magazine is empty. This is a great solar fusion rifle and with the right roll, can be asbolutely devastating. You can pick this one up from Basnhee-44 or Xur when they are selling it. It’s an older weapon now, but still a great one.

Power – Gjallarhorn

Gjallarhorn is an Exotic Power Rocket Launcher that fires solar damage and it comes with some pretty special perks

  • Wolfpack Rounds – Rounds fired split into tracking cluster missiles upon detonation.
  • Pack Hunter – Gain increased handling and reload speed when standing near allies. Firing this weapon also grants Wolfpack Rounds to nearby allies wielding non-Exotic Rocket Launchers.

You can get this one by owning the 30th anniversary pack and visiting Shaw Han on the Cosmodrome.

For an alternative set up you can also check out this combination.

Kinetic – Reckless Endangerment

Reckless Endangerment is a Legendary Kinetic Shotgun with a Lightweight Frame meaning it has superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped.

Energy – Skyburner’s Oath

This is an exotic energy Scout Rifle

Slug Rifle – This weapon lobs explosive slugs. When you’re aiming down sights, the slugs travel fast and straight. When you’re firing from the hip, the explosion is larger and applies Scorch to the target.

For the Empire – This weapon is Full Auto, does extra damage to Cabal, and penetrates Phalanx shields.

This one has seen a rework and has been retrofitted for Solar 3.0.

Power – Ascendancy

Ascendancy is a Legendary Power Rocket Launcher is a Precision Frame meaning this weapon fires a small auto-tracking missile. Missiles lock onto targets when aimed.

Bountiful Wells – Elemental Well mods that cause you to spawn elemental wells can now stack, spawning additional wells for each additional copy of the mod you have equipped.

Elemental Ordnance – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type. Given we have Bountiful Wells, this can stack and produce multiple wells at the same time.

Font of Might – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants a temporary bonus to weapon damage of that same elemental type.

  • Consume grenade
  • Heat Rises to hover
  • Use Melee (get a kill)
  • Throw as many grenades as possible
  • Collect wells
  • Repeat
