Best Season of the Risen Weapons in Destiny 2

We’re about halfway through the season now, so it’s a good time to take stock and see where we are with the weapons. Season of the Risen has given us some top weapons, and today I’m going to run down the list and check out the best of them, starting off with the worst and leading to the best.

Without further delay, let’s dive into the best weapons of Season of the Risen.

Recurrent Impact (Machine Gun)

Recurrent Impact is a legendary power machine gun that deals stasis damage. It’s a rapid-fire frame machine gun, with deeper ammo reserves and there’s a slightly faster reload when the magazine is empty.

For PVP Perpetual Motion and Headstone would be a decent roll and for PVE Subsistence and Frenzy would be good.

To get this one you can get it as a drop from PsiOps Battleground, or you can get it from the Wartable by focusing Umbral Engrams.

Explosive Personality (Grenade Launcher)

Explosive Personality is a Legendary energy grenade launcher with a Wave Frame, meaning it’s a one-shot handheld grenade launcher. Projectiles release a wave of energy when they contact the ground.

For PVP Auto-Loading Holster and Disruption Break would be good. For PVE then something like Frenzy and Feeding Frenzy would be a decent roll.

You can get this one from PsiOps Battleground, the main activity for Season of the Risen.

Sweet Sorrow (Auto Rifle)

Sweet Sorrow is a Legendary Energy Auto Rifle with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning it has deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when the magazine is empty.

For PVE Arrowhead Brake, Appended Mag, Triple Tap and Turnabout would be a decent roll. For PVP Arrowhead Brake, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion and Tap the Trigger would be best.

To get this one you have to run the seasonal activity in Season of the Risen, called PsiOps Battleground. Or you buy can it from the Wartable in exchange for materials and Umbral Engrams.

Thoughtless (Sniper)

Thoughtless is a Legendary Kinetic Sniper Rifle with an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy.

For PVE Fluted Barrel, Appended Mag, Overflow and Firing Line would be a good roll. For PVP Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion and Snapshot Sights would be good.

To get this sniper you can get it from the seasonal activity in Season of the Risen called PsiOps Battleground. You can also get this one from the Season Pass, once you hit rank 30. Finally, you can craft this weapon. You’ll need the weapon pattern, which means collecting 5 red-bordered versions of the weapon.

Dead Messenger (Exotic Grenade Launcher)

Dead Messenger is an Exotic Energy Grenade Launcher and it comes with the perks

  • Trinary Vision – One-shot handheld Grenade Launcher. Projectiles release a fan of three energy waves in contact with the ground.
  • The Fundamentals – Change this weapon’s damage type, cycling between Solar, Arc, and Void.

This is a great weapon for ad clear in Destiny 2. Simply shoot in their general direction and they will die. It’s great too with the element switching mechanic, meaning you can mix and match to different enemy shields.

To get this one complete the Exotic Mission on the Throne World called Vox Obscura.

Reckless Endangerment (Shotgun)

Reckless Endangerment is a Legendary Kinetic Shotgun with a Lightweight Frame meaning it has superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped.

Reckless Endangerment is a static roll weapon and it comes fully masterwork already, plus it has a great choice of perks, which you can mix and match to suit most playstyles.

Third Slot

  • Perpetual Motion – This weapon gains bonus stability, handling, and reload speed while the wielder is in motion or
  • Steady Hands – Kills provide improved handling for all weapons for a short duration

Fourth Slot

  • Swashbuckler – This weapon gains increased damage from melee kills and kills with this weapon or
  • Snapshot sights – Faster time to aim down sights

The weapon also comes with a choice of Origin Perks. Given this can be acquired from Vanguard, Crucible or Gambit you have a choice of origin perks.

  • Vanguard’s Vindication – Final blows with the weapon grant a small amount of health.
  • One Quiet Moment – Grants increased reload speed when out of combat.
  • Invader Tracker – Damaging the invader with the weapon marks them for allies.

To get this one you have to reach rank 16 on the playlist vendor of your choice. Each playlist vendor has rank up rewards, and getting to rank 16 will get you the Reckless Endangerment.

Under Your Skin (Bow)

Under Your Skin is a Legendary Energy Combat Bow with a Precision Frame meaning it’s a Compound Bow. Longer draw time optimized for damage.

For PVE Elastic String, Carbon Arrow Shaft, Archers Tempo and Adaptive Munitions would be a good roll. For PVP Agile String, Compact Arrow Shaft, Archers Tempo and Opening Shot would be good.

To get Under Your Skin you have to run the seasonal activity in Season of the Risen called PsiOp Battleground. This can be accessed from the node in the HELM. You can also focus engrams at the Wartable in the HELM to get this weapon to drop for you and it’s craftable too.

Piece of Mind (Pulse Rifle)

Piece of Mind is a Legendary Kinetic Pulse Rifle with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning it has Deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when the magazine is empty. This one also comes with the basic origin trait of Land Tank. This is where final blows with the weapon grant increased resilience and additional damage resistance from combatants.

For PVE Hammer-Forged Rifling, Appended Mag, Overflow, and Focused Fury would be a good roll. For PVP Smallbore, High-Calibre Rounds, Overflow, and Moving Target would be decent.

To get Piece of Mind you have to run the seasonal activity in Season of the Risen called PsiOp Battleground. This can be accessed from the node in the HELM. You can also focus engrams at the Wartable in the HELM to get this weapon to drop for you. You can also get this weapon from the Season Pass at Rank 45.
