How to get the Exotic Glaives and how to complete the Report: Reverse-Lure Quest in Destiny 2
With the release of the Witch Queen we have three class-specific Exotic Glaives in the game; Edge of Action, Edge of Concurrence and Edge of Intent. Today I’m going to run through all the steps required in the Reverse-Lure Quest, and this will help you get your first Exotic Glaive. Also today I’ll run through how to get the others, as we as some things to look out for along the way.
Exotic Glaives
There are 3 Exotic Glaives in total, one for each class – Titan, Hunter and Warlock.
Edge of Intent is an Exotic Warlock Energy Glaive
Restorative Turret – [Alternate Weapon Action] : When weapon energy is full, consume it before firing to make your next shot deploy a healing turret on impact.
Edge of Action is an Exotic Titan Energy Glaive
Remote Shield – [Alternate Weapon Action] : When weapon energy is full, consume it before firing to make your next shot deploy a protective shield on impact.
Edge of Concurrence is an Exotic Hunter Energy Glaive
Lightning Seeker – [Alternate Weapon Action] : When weapon energy is full, consume it before firing to make your next shot track targets across the ground and unleash chain lightning on impact.
From the reviews, I have seen they are fairly underwhelming at the moment, especially given Bungie nerfed Glaives in one of the balance patches post-Witch Queen. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t buff them in the future. Personally, I like the glaives I’ve used so far, so I’ll be looking to create some builds with the Exotic glaives to get the most out of them. But let me know in the comments what you think.
Let’s have a look at how to get the Exotic Glaive.
How to pick up the Report: Reverse-Lure Quest
To be able to craft your own Exotic Glaive, then you’ll have to complete every quest on the Investigation Board at the Enclave, which can be found in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen on the Throneworld. Most of the quests are straightforward, and it’s just a matter of following the quest steps. However, it’s worth noting there is one brick wall you hit which is time-gated in the quest called Report: Relic Data. Here you have to craft a bunch of weapons, but more importantly on one of the steps of the quest you have to craft two Wellspring weapons – Come to Pass and Tarnation.
To get to the point where you can pick up Report: Reverse-Lure, you have to do a number of steps:
- Get through the Witch Queen Campaign until The Cunning mission
- Complete the quest, then go back to the Enclave and pick up Report: Resonance Comp
- Finish that quest
Step 1 – Visit The Evidence Board
Pick up Report: Relic Data from the Evidence Board.
Step 2: Shape Likely Suspect, Empirical Evidence, and Red Herring
Hopefully, during the campaign, you’ll have found these weapons, because we’re going to need to craft them at The Relic. You do need to obtain the pattern, but not to worry as these patterns are easy to come – you only need one red-bordered version of each of these weapons.
There are a couple of ways to target these weapons:
- Likely Suspect – Complete Trust Goes Both Ways quest
- Empirical Evidence – Complete The Ghosts mission in the campaign (third mission)
- Red Herring – Complete the Witch Queen campaign
Step 3 – Shape Come to Pass and Tarnation
This is where things get a little bit annoying. To shape Come to Pass and Tarnation, you’ll need two red-bordered versions of the weapons and they drop from the Wellspring activity. However, the loot rotates daily, and there are 4 weapons or 4 days of rotations. Bungie did fix it so the red-bordered weapons drop more frequently, and I was seeing one red-bordered weapon drop about every 4 Wellspring runs. However, this is still time-consuming and if you miss a day, then it’s a few days wait before you can get them again. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s worth pointing out when you do this quest.
Come to Pass – Drops from Bor’gong, Warden of the Spring in the Wellspring: Attack activity.
Tarnation – Drops from Vezuul, Lightflayer in the Wellspring: Defend activity.
Also, you’ll need to complete the Witch Queen campaign for access to the Wellspring activity.
Step 4 – Reshape a weapon with Enhanced Traits
Thankfully, the rest of the quest is much easier and quicker. For this step, reshape a weapon at The Relic with enhanced traits. You’ll need some Ascendant Alloy for this, which can be farmed from the Weekly Misson, or you can buy it from Rahool in the Tower.
Step 5 – Report Your Findings to the Evidence Board
Head over to the Enclave in Mars again to report your discoveries. Once you’ve done this (and the other quests), you’ll be able to pick up Report: Reverse-Lure Quest.
How to complete Report: Reverse-Lure Quest
Here are the quest steps for crafting the class-specific Exotic Glaive. Pick up the quest from the investigation board at the Enclave.
Step 1 – Place the Osmic Fragment
First of all, head to the Queen’s Bailey on the Throne World. You should see a quest marker on your map, select this and you should be able to get there nice and easy. You are looking for a chalice to drop the Osmic Fragment in. Follow the waypoint, interact with it when you’re next to it, and then it’s on to the next step of the quest.
Step 2 – Observe the Lucent Brood
Now that you’ve set the trap, you’ll want to watch the Hive interact with the Osmic Fragment. From the point where you dropped it into the chalice, head left and towards the statue. There is a Deepsight Orb near the grass. Interact with this and some platforms will appear, use these to climb the wall. You can run along here and towards the plates, and from here you can get a great view of what’s going on down below. Hive will spawn and be attracted to the Osmic Fragment, don’t shoot them as this will mess up the observation.
Step 3 – Follow and Kill the Lucent Brood
Now you have observed them, jump down and kill them all. You should get a new Exotic marker on the map, and this is near Savathun’s Palace, near where you had the battle in the first mission of the campaign. The marker is in a room full of Lucent Hive, as well as a Lightbearer. Kill all the enemies that get in your way, and don’t forget to crush the Lightbearer’s ghost. Pick up the Osmic Fragment and then go back to the Enclave for the next step of the quest.
Step 4 – Craft Your Exotic Glaive
Once you arrive at The Enclave, make your way toward the Evidence Board to get the weapon pattern for your Exotic Glaive. Make your way to the Relic and you’ll be able to shape one of the exotic glaives, the one that is specific to your class. The good news here is you don’t need any materials, they will all be provided. Select the perks you want, and then your brand new exotic glaive will be yours.
How to get the other Exotic Glaives
There’s good and bad news with the other Exotic Glaives. The good news is you don’t have to repeat the quest, which can be time-consuming, especially getting the red-bordered weapons to drop for one of the quests before you can actually pick up the Exotic Glaive quest. The bad news is it’s down to RNG. Once you have your first exotic glaive, with your other Guardians, you’ll need to run the Wellspring activity and the patterns for the other exotic glaives are random drops from the final encounter. For example, if you start off with a Warlock and you run through the quest as outlined in this guide, then on your Hunter and Titan you’ll only need to run the Wellspring activity.
Let me know in the comments what you think of the Exotic Glaives, and let me know which perks you crafted them with.
