Season of the Risen

How to get Sweet Sorrow (Legendary Auto Rifle) Plus God Roll Guide in Destiny 2

Sweet Sorrow is a new Legendary Auto Rifle added to Destiny 2 as part of Season of the Risen. This is a rapid-fire auto rifle, and is one of the most popular weapons from the new PsiOps Set of weapons. Today I am going to dive deeper into Sweet Sorrow, check out the stats, the perks and god rolls to chase for PVE and PVP, plus check out how to get Sweet Sorrow in Destiny 2.

Sweet Sorrow is a Legendary Energy Auto Rifle with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning it has deeper ammo reserves. Slightly faster reload when magazine is empty. Looking at the stats we have Impact 18, Range 31, Stability 59, Handling 48, Reload Speed 52, Rounds Per Minute 720 and Magazine 52.

Sweet Sorrow God Roll Guide

For PVE Arrowhead Brake, Appended Mag, Triple Tap and Turnabout would be a decent roll.

  • Arrowhead Brake – Greatly controls recoil and Increases handling speed
  • Appended Mag – Increases magazine size
  • Triple Tap – Rapidly landing precision hits will return one round to the magazine.
  • Turnabout – Using this weapon to break the shield of a combatant or a Guardian using their Super will grant you an overshield.

Triple Tap is grat in PVE given you get that return to the magazine, which is much more predictable in PVE content compared to PVP. Turnabout is a new perk this season, and grants you that overshield when you break an enemies shield, which is going to come in very handy in PVE.

For PVP Arrowhead Brake, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion and Tap the Trigger would be best.

  • Arrowhead Brake – Greatly controls recoil and Increases handling speed
  • Accurized Rounds – Increases range
  • Perpetual Motion – This weapon gains bonus stability, handling, and reload speed while the wielder is in motion.
  • Tap the Trigger – Grants a short period of increased stability and accuracy on initial trigger pull.

Perpetual Motion is almost a go-to perk at this point in PVP, given you are always moving around the map and gaining those benefits. Tap the Trigger is going to give you that stability and accuracy needed to take down Guardians with ease in the Crucible.

How to get Sweet Sorrow

To get this one you have to run the seasonal activity in Season of the Risen, called PsiOps Battleground. You can access this from the H.E.L.M. by checking out the node in the center of the screen. Once you have finished a run of PsiOps Battleground open up the runic chest at the end for 500 Psychogenic Intel and you’ll have a chance for the weapon to drop for you.

You can also decrypt Umbral Engrams at the Wartable in the H.E.L.M. You’ll be able to decode these after getting the Weapon Decoding Clearance in from the upgrades menu. You can select the weapon you want to decode the Umbral Engram into, which means you can get your hands on a randomly rolled Sweet Sorrow here, although do be aware this is going to cost you 50 Legendary Shards per weapon.

It’s also possible to craft your very own Sweet Sorrow at the Relic at the Enclave. To do this you’ll need to collect and level up 5 versions of the red bordered Sweet Sorrow to unlock the Pattern. Once you have the weapon pattern you’ll be free to craft your own roll. You’ll have to level up Sweet Sorrow a bunch to unlock all the good traits, especially the enhanced traits, but if you are really invested in this weapon and it’s your favourite, then it’s well worth doing.

Let me know what you think of Sweet Sorrow in the comments and let me know your top rolls, or which versions you have crafted.
