Best weapons from 30th Anniversary and The Dawning 2021 in Destiny 2

We’ve had so many good weapons introduced recently into Destiny 2, and it’s hard to pick which one is best. Today I’m going to attempt to do just that, and run down my top ten weapons from The Dawning 2021 and Bungie’s 30th Anniversary Pack, plus how to get them and the god rolls to chase if they are legendary.

Without further delay let’s dive into the list.

The Other Half

The Other Half is a Legendary Void Power Sword with an Adaptive Frame where you can launch a heavy uppercut attack. Heavy attacks are stronger with full energy. This is part of the Halo-inspired weapon set you get from Dares of Eternity, with this sword being modeled on the Halo energy sword, however, it seems to have been split in half between Half-Truths and The Other Half.

For PVE Relentless Strikes and Whirlwind Blade is a good combo. Relentless Strikes will grant you sword ammo after three light attacks and Whirlwind blade increases the sword’s damage for a short duration.

For PVP Eager Edge and Vorpal Weapon would be a decent roll. Eager Edge is where you gain increased sword lunge distance immediately after switching to the weapon, which makes it very much like the Halo energy sword. Vorpal Weapon is great for taking out Guardians in their super.

Hero of Ages

Hero Of Ages is a Legendary Power Sword with a Vortex Frame meaning you can launch a heavy spin attack. Heavy attacks are stronger with full energy.

For PVE Duelists Trance, and Chain Reaction would be a good roll. Duelists Trance is where sword final blows grant increased charge rate, efficiency, and defense until the weapon is stowed, then finally Chain Reaction is where each final blow with the weapon creates an elemental damage explosion.

For PVP Relentless Strikes, and Assassin’s Blade would be good. Relentless Strikes is where three light attacks grant sword ammo and Assassin’s Blade is where sword kills boost movement speed and damage.

To get this one it’s a random drop from the 2nd encounter in the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon.

Zephyr

This is the new weapon for the Dawning 2021. Zephyr is a Legendary Power Sword with an Adaptive Frame. Launch a heavy uppercut attack. Heavy attacks are stronger with full energy.

For PVE Relentless Strikes and Cold Steel. Relentless Strikes is where you land 3 light attacks within a short timeframe to get sword ammo. Cold Steel is a new perk where Powered Sword hits slow enemies. For PVP Thresh and Assassin’s Blade would be a decent roll. Thresh gets you a small amount of Super Energy with a kill and Assassin’s Blade is where kills boost movement speed and damage.

To get this one, complete the Pigeon Provides quest from Eva Levante during the Dawning 2021.

Matador 64

Matador 64 is a Legendary Energy Shotgun that deals Arc damage with a Precision Frame meaning this weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical.

For PVE Perpetual Motion, and Golden Tricorn. Perpetual Motion gains bonus stability, handling, and reload speed while the wielder is in motion. Finally, Golden Tricorn is where the final blows with the weapon grant bonus damage. While the buff is active, grenade or melee kills of the same damage type greatly increase damage and duration.

For PVP Threat Detector, and Killing Wind would be a decent roll. Threat Detector improves reload speed, stability, and handling when enemies are close, then Killing Wind final blows increase mobility, weapon range, and handling for a short duration.

To get this one to drop it’s a random drop from the first Ogre encounter in the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon.

1000 Yard Stare

1000 Yard Stare is a Legendary Energy Sniper Rifle, dealing Void Damage with an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy.

For PVP Quickdraw, and Snapshot Sights. Quickdraw gets the gun in your hands fast, and snapshot sights mean less time to aim down sights. Given that combination of quickdraw and snapshot sights, this one is going to be hugely popular in PVP.

For PVE No Distractions, and Golden Tricorn would be good. No Distractions is where flinch is reduced when aiming for a short time, and the new perk here is Golden Tricorn, where final blows with the weapon grant bonus damage. While the buff is an active grenade, melee kills of the same damage type greatly increase its damage and duration.

To get this Sniper it’s a random drop from the Final Boss encounter in the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon.

Glasioclasm

Glacioclasm is a Legendary Energy Fusion Rifle that delivers void damage. It’s a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s Slow-firing and has high damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. Good rolls to look out for include Subsistence and Reservoir Burst and Slideshot/High Impact Reserves. You can get this one from reward packages during Dawning 2021.

Eyasluna

Eyasluna is a Legendary Kinetic Hand Cannon with an Adaptive Frame meaning it has a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy.

For PVE Outlaw and Kill Clip is a classic combination, although given this is a stasis weapon, then Headstone is pretty good too, with the improvements to stasis crystals in the recent balance patch. Outlaw is where precision kills greatly decrease the reload time and Kill Clip gives you increased damage after a kill. Headstone spawns a stasis crystal at the dead body of an opponent when you get precision final blows.

For PVP Perpetual Motion & Moving Target would be a good roll. Perpetual Motion is a new perk added with the 30th-anniversary pack, and this gives you bonus stability, handling, and reload speed while the wielder is in motion. Moving Target on the other hand gives you increased movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down sights.

To get this one it’s a random drop from the final boss of the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon, found on the Cosmodrome.

BxR-55 Battler

The BXR-55 Battler is a Legendary Energy Pulse Rifle dealing Solar damage and it comes with a custom frame called the Legacy PR-55 Frame. This means it’s a customized frame with dramatically increased accuracy, stability, and targeting while hip firing.

For PVE Outlaw, and Kill Clip would be a decent roll. Outlaw is where precision kills decrease reload time, and finally, Kill Clip means reloading after a kill increases the damage output. For PVP Snapshot Sights, and Rangefinder would be good. Snapshot sights get the weapon in your hands as fast as possible, and Rangefinder gives you a hefty boost to the range.

To get this one it’s a random drop from the Dares of Eternity activity.

Gjallarhorn

Gjallarhorn is an Exotic Power Rocket Launcher that fires solar damage and it comes with some pretty special perks

Wolfpack Rounds – Rounds fired split into tracking cluster missiles upon detonation.

Pack Hunter – Gain increased handling and reload speed when standing near allies. Firing this weapon also grants Wolfpack Rounds to nearby allies wielding non-Exotic Rocket Launchers.

To get this one you have to complete the quest ‘And out fly the wolves’ from Shaw Han, although you do have to own the 30th Anniversary Pack.

Forerunner

The Halo Magnum has made its debut in Destiny 2, albeit in an unofficial capacity, in the form of the Forerunner. This is a hard-hitting, high-caliber Sidearm that nods back to Bungie’s Halo days and the Masterchief, and is the perfect celebration Exotic for Bungie’s 30th Anniversary.

Forerunner is an Exotic Kinetic Sidearm

Full Stop – Oversized Sidearm with extended-range, heavy-caliber rounds. Fires full auto with an increased rate of fire. Deals increased precision damage to unshielded targets.

Pace Yourself – Tapping the trigger gives this weapon less recoil and improves accuracy.

To get this one you have to complete the quest from Xur called Magnum Opus.

Let me know what you think of the list, and let me know if you think something else should be here.
