How to get the Hero Of Ages (Legendary Sword) Plus God Roll Guide in Destiny 2

Hero Of Ages is a new sword added to Destiny 2. This is a vortex frame sword, similar to Falling Guillotine, meaning it’s great for big damage and add clearing. Today I’m going to check out the Hero of Ages Sword, the stats, the god rolls to chase for PVE and PVP, plus how to get the Hero of Ages in Destiny 2.

Hero Of Ages is a Legendary Power Sword with a Vortex Frame meaning you can launch a heavy spin attack. Heavy attacks are stronger with full energy. Looking at the stats we have Swing Speed 46, Impact 60, Defense 60, Charge Rate 33, and Ammo Capacity 57.

As with many of the other weapons from the 30th Anniversary, this weapon is a reference to a past Bungie game, and this time its Myth, and specifically the Beserks.

Here’s a snippet from the Myth wiki:

“A Berserk is a barbaric warrior from the northern parts of the world. Berserks wield massive claymores that they use to hack apart enemies and in large groups can hack away any foes. However, they don’t wear any armor as this would restrict their movement, which is their main advantage as they are the fastest runners out of them all the forces of light. As such, they are often used in the role of scouts, trackers, and flankers.”

This is a great sword if you want to feel like a Knight as it really looks the part.

Hero Of Ages God Roll Guide

For PVE Hungry Edge, Balanced Guard, Duelists Trance, and Chain Reaction would be a good roll. Hungry Edge increases Sword Ammo, Balanced Guard has overall balanced defenses. Duelists Trance is where sword final blows grant increased charge rate, efficiency, and defense until the weapon is stowed, then finally Chain Reaction is where each final blow with the weapon creates an elemental damage explosion. This along with Sola’s Scar is the only sword that can roll with chain reaction, so it’s rather unique.

For PVP Enduring Blade, Burst Guard, Relentless Strikes, and Assassin’s Blade would be good. Enduring Guard gives you more ammo, at the cost of damage. Then Burst Guard maximizes efficiency and high resistance, Relentless Strikes is where three light attacks grant sword ammo and Assassin’s Blade is where sword kills boost movement speed and damage.

How to get Hero Of Ages

To get Hero Of Ages then it’s a random drop from the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon, which was put into the game via the Bungie 30th Anniversary pack. This sword is a random drop from the second encounter, which is the Servitors after you have to damage the fallen ship with the explosions. The good news is that these encounters are farmable too, so if you don’t get it to drop the first time then keep trying until it drops.

Hero Of Ages Titan PVE Build

I’ve put together a Titan PVE Build here, which is going to be good for endgame PvE content.

  • Subclass – Top tree Sentinel. This is good for the Bubble, which offers great protection if you get stuck in a difficult situation, plus offers cover to your fireteam.
  • Armor – Stronghold (Titans). This allows to Infinite Guard, making you pretty much unstoppable when you have a decent sword. Also, blocked shots heal you.
  • Weapons – Chroma Rush (Kinetic), Le Monarque (Energy), Hero of Ages (Power). I’m using an auto rifle and bow here because they are good against champions this season in Season of the Lost, however, you can swap those out for other weapons if that changes in the future. Le Monarque is good because it’s void, working together with the subclass, that’s going to work with the elemental well mods.
  • Mods – Elemental Charge, become charged with light when picking up elemental wells. Lucent Blade, increases sword damage when Charged with Light. Font of Wisdom boosts super regeneration. Protective Light, when charged with light you gain damage resistance against combatants when your shields are destroyed.

Putting all of this together you are going to be pretty much invincible in endgame PVE, given the perks on Stronghold, and also using the charged with light mods we’re going to be increasing our damage resistance, plus our damage output with Lucent Blade. Give the build a try and let me know what you think.
