Destiny 2 – The Best Scout Rifles for Season 15

Scout Rifles have underperformed in the sandbox for a long time, but that is all about to change with Scout Rifles getting a major buff in Season 15. Today I am going to look at some of the top legendary and exotic Scout Rifles you can get in Destiny 2, so you can be ready for that buff when it arrives next season.

Bungie is yet to give us the full rundown of the sandbox changes for Season 15, but they have acknowledged that Scout Rifles aren’t doing as well as they could be. In an update published on July 1st, 2021 DMG said:

“Scout Rifles and Hand Cannons in PvE: Players have wanted these weapons to be a bit more efficient in PvE for some time. We’ve found that minor enemies in high-end content take too many shots to kill with these weapons.”

Without further delay let’s check out some of the best Scout Rifles you can currently get in the game, plus where to get them.

Legendary Scout Rifles

Hung Jury

Hung Jury SR4 is a Legendary Kinetic Scout Rifle. This one is a Precision Frame meaning this weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical. Looking at the stats we have Impact 62, Range 54, Stability 60, Handling 55, Reload Speed 51, Rounds Per Minute 180, Magazine 16.

For PVE Rapid Hit and Firefly is a good roll to look out for and also Surplus and Explosive Payload. For PVP Moving Target and Box Breathing would be a good roll. I am mainly going to be using this in PVE content, so I was looking for Firefly. I managed to get hold of Surplus and Firefly, which isn’t too bad, but the combo of Rapid Hit and Firefly does sound very tempting, but the odds of getting that roll are pretty slim.

You can get this one from Nightfall rewards when it’s on rotation.

Vision Of Confluence

The Vision of Confluence is a legendary energy scout rifle that deals solar damage and has a precision frame meaning the weapon’s recoil pattern is much more predictably vertical. Looking at the stats we have 62 for impact, 51 for range, 48 for stability, 50 for handling, 52 for reload speed and it’s a 180 rpm scout rifle with 16 in the magazine.

For PVE Rewind Rounds, Firefly, Richochet Rounds, and Arrowhead Brake would be a decent roll. Arrowhead break helps control the recoil and increases handling speed, and Richochet Rounds also increases stability and increases range too, which is handy on a Scout Rifle. Rewind Rounds is the Vault of Glass exclusive perk where when the magazine is empty it’ll refill from reserves based on the number of hits. Finally, we have Firefly, another returning perk from Destiny 1, where precision kills with the weapon increase reload speed, and causes the target to explode, dealing solar damage to nearby enemies.

For PVP Killing Wind and Full Auto would be a decent roll, with Corkscrew Rifling and High Caliber Rounds. Corkscrew Rifling will give you more range, handling, and stability and High-Caliber Rounds will also give you more range, which is exactly what you want in PVP. Killing Wind is great where final blows with the weapon grant increased mobility, range, and handling for a short duration. Full auto is great for the ease of use, just holding down the trigger. Kill Clip is also a decent perk if you don’t like full auto.

You can get this one from the Vault of Glass Raid.

Eternal Blazon

For PVE Full Auto and Kill Clip would be good. Full auto is fairly self-explanatory and then Kill Clip gives a damage boost by reloading after a kill. Rapid Hit and Thresh is another good PVE roll where Rapid Hit increases stability and reload speed and thresh gives you a small amount of Super Energy.

For PVP Quickdraw and Rangefinder would be a decent roll. The range is always good in PVP and quickdraw is going to get that scout rifle into your hands nice and quickly. Killing Wind and Disruption Break might also be a good one to look out for.

You can get this one as a random drop in the World Loot pool.

Pleiades Corrector

For PvE Arrowhead Brake, Armour Piercing Rounds Fourth Times The Charm and Mutikill Clip is a very popular roll out there at the moment. Arrowhead Break greatly increases recoil and increases handling speed. Armor-Piercing Rounds cause extra damage to combatants’ shields and over penetrates targets, plus slightly increases range. Fourth Times the Charm returns two rounds to the magazine when you rapidly land precision hits then finally Mutlikill Clip gets you increased damage based on the number of rapid kills before reloading.

Another good roll is Corkscrew Rifling, Extended Mag, Outlaw, and Demolitionist. Corkscrew Rifling gives you increased range and stability and also handling speed too. Extended Mag greatly increases the magazine size but decreases reload speed. Outlaw decreases reload time on precision kills and finally Demolitionist grants grenade energy on kills.

You can get this one as a random drop in the World Loot pool.

Exotic Scout Rifles

Dead Man’s Tale

Dead Man’s Tale is an Exotic Kinetic Scout Rifle. This comes with Cranial Spike – Chaining precision hits grants bonus damage and quickens reload speed. Looking at the stats we have Impact 67, Range 64, Stability 37, Handling 55, Reload Speed 55, Rounds Per Minute 120, and Magazine 14. You can get this one from the Presage Quest on Tangled Shore, but you do need access to Season of the Chosen.

Polaris Lance

Polaris Lance is an Exotic Energy Scout Rifle. This comes with the perk The Perfect Fifth. Precision hits return ammo to the mag. Landing 4 precision hits loads a delayed Solar explosive round for your next shot. Also, Zen Moment – Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability. You can get this one from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower under Red War Exotics.

Mida Multi-tool

Mida Multi-tool is an Exotic Kinetic Scout Rifle. This comes with MIDA Multi-Tool, This weapon boosts move speed and MIDA Radar, Radar stays active while aiming down sights. You can get this one from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower under Red War Exotics.

Jade Rabbit

Jade Rabbit is an Exotic Kinetic Scout Rifle. This comes with the perk The Fate of All Fools where chain body shots to gain bonus damage on your next precision shot and return ammo to the magazine. Plus Zen Moment was causing damage with this weapon increases its stability. You can get this from random exotic engram drops or from Xur when he’s selling it.
