Destiny 2 – How to get The Deicide (Legendary Shotgun) plus God Roll guide

The Deicide is a returning shotgun, brought back as part of the Future War Cult set of weapons in Season of the Splicer. It’s a decent PvE shotgun, and with the right roll could be devastating. Today I am going to have a look at the weapon, the stats, the god rolls for PvE plus the all-important, how to get the Deicide in Destiny 2.

The Deicide is a Legendary Energy Shotgun with a Rapid-Fire Frame meaning the weapon Fires full auto with deeper ammo reserves. Faster reload when the weapon is empty. Looking at the stats we have Impact 65, Range 34, Stability 34, Handling 44, Reload, Speed 67, Rounds Per Minute 140 and Magazine 7.

The Deicide God Roll Guide

This shotgun definitely feels more like a PvE shotgun rather than something suited for PvP when looking at the available perks. Therefore for PVP, I’d straight up recommend looking at another shotgun if you want to go into PvP, like Riiswalker, Felwinter’s Lie, or The Chaperone.

For PvE Rifled Barrel, Appended Mag, Slideshot and One-Two Punch would be a decent roll. Rifled Barrel gives you that increase, but greatly decreases handling speed. Appended Mag greatly increases the magazine size. Slideshot partially reloads the weapon’s magazine and boosts range and stability. Finally one-two punch gives you increased melee damage for a short time when you hit an enemy with every pellet.

Another good one for PvE would be Smoothbore, Tactical Mag, Surplus, Vorpal Weapon. Smoothbore greatly increases the range at the cost of more projectile speed. Tactical Mag slightly increases stability, increases the magazine size, and also boosts reload speed. Surplus increases handling, reload speed, and stability for each fully charged ability.

How to get The Deicide in Destiny 2

To get this one it’s a random drop from activities, as it’s in the world loot pool of weapons. This is part of the returning set of Future War Cult weapons, originally introduced in the Curse of Osiris expansion, but it’s not back with updated perks. There’s no sure-fire way to get this one, it’s down to luck, but you can get this from the end of strikes, crucible matches, gambit, etc.

The lore this season has been great, and The Deicide has one of the best lore tabs in the whole game. Let’s have a look.

Ikora, thought you’d want to see this. It presents as binary in our systems, but something is splicing hashes in. I pulled it from the Tower’s Nexus Iso-feed. It’s all over FWC networks… and elsewhere.

My guess is the lettering indicates some kind of audible tone-code pattern, but I haven’t listened to it.

One of my subordinates has isolated minor pitch fluctuations represented here as “#”.

These are foreign elements to otherwise normal binary code.

See attached report for archival information on binary code.

Great stuff there from the lore. We’ve been over it already this season, but if you decode the binary found in the lore tab, then you get this

This is Savathun’s Song, which has infected the Future War Cult network. This was one of the earliest indications that Savathun has been influencing the Last City.

Let me know down in the comments what you think of The Deicide and also what you think about that spicy lore.
