Destiny 2 – Double Rewards Nightfall This Week Plus DEVASTATING Titan Build Guide for Fast & Easy Loot
This week we have double nightfall rewards available to us, so it’s one of the best times to jump into Nightfalls and grind for easy exotics, upgrade materials, plus if you are chasing that Nightfall weapon the PLUG ONE.1 – this week is the perfect time to do some farming for the double loot drops. Today I am going to check out a fun build so you can rip through the Nightfall quickly and benefit from those double loot drops.
From the 1st June until 8th June 2021 we have double rewards in the Nightfall, so I would jump in this week and farm for materials. The Nightfall this week is The Inverted Spire, found on Nessus. The best farm for Nightfall rewards is going to be Legend 1310 or Master 1340, this gives you better rewards so if you are a high enough power level then I would recommend jumping into this.
You can access Nightfalls from the Vanguard menu found under Destinations on the director, and then jump in. Adept and Hero are matchmade Nightfalls, but Legend and Master you have to find your own team and I’d use Bungie’s companion app or a LFG website like DestinyTracker to help you find a team. For me the Bungie companion app is the best, look under the fireteams section and then select nightfalls to find other like-minded Guardians.
Let’s have a look at the requirements for the Nightfall before jumping in.
Champions
Unstoppable: This mode contains Unstoppable Champions, which cannot be stopped without an Unstoppable mod.
Barrier: This mode contains Barrier Champions, which cannot be stopped without an Anti-Barrier mod.
Modifiers
Scorched Earth: Enemies throw grenades significantly more often.
Hero Modifiers: Extra Shields
Modular Algorithm: Incoming Arc and environmental damage increased.
Legend and Master
Equipment Locked: You will not be able to change your equipment after this activity starts.
Match Game: Enemy shields are highly resistant to all unmatched elemental damage.
Chaff: Radar is disabled. (Master)
Mob: This mode contains additional Champions. (Master)
Next let’s check out a build that is going to help you breeze through the Nightfall nice and quickly.
Nightfall Titan Build
Looking at the Champion requirements we’re going to need Unstoppable and Anti-Barrier mods. This season we have a few choices, but I am going to go with Unstoppable Grenade Launcher and then use Anti-Barrier Auto Rifle mods. I’ll be using a void theme for the build, this is going to run through the subclass, weapons and also Elemental Well Mods.
This is also going to be a Titan build, but mainly because I want to take advantage of Crown Splitter, the VERY powerful reprised sword added to the world loot pool in Season of the Splicer. If you are a Warlock or Hunter the majority of this build works, you could always swap out the Crown Splitter sword for Falling Guillotine.
First let’s check out the subclass.
Weapons
Kinetic – Witherhoard
This one comes with Primevals Torment – Projectiles fired by this weapon light the target or nearby area on impact. It also comes with Break the Bank – Blighted Targets take more damage over time and blight the nearby area on death.
This is going to be useful with Unstoppable Grenade Launcher mod found on the season pass. The damage over time is great for clearing out smaller enemies, plus you get a good amount of DPS for a direct hit with Witherhoard.
Energy – Gnawing Hunger
I’m using Gnawing Hunger for the Energy Weapon. This is a void weapon and I also have a roll with Rampage on it, which comes in handy for the extra damage.
Power – Crown Splitter
This is a very powerful sword that has returned to us in Season of the Splicer. This is a class specific sword, plus I have a roll with Vorpal Weapon, meaning big damage against bosses. Pair this with Lucent Blade, the Charged with Light mod, plus taking charge and Elemental Charge. Once Charged with Light is active you’ll get a 15% damage buff to your swords, which is going to come in handy taking out enemies and champions in the nightfall.
Subclass
For this build I’ll be using Code of the Protector, which is top-tree void Titan.
- Defensive Strike — Defeat an enemy with this melee ability to create an overshield around you and nearby allies. Final blows grant melee energy when this overshield is active.
- Rallying Force — Melee kills restore health for you and nearby allies.
- Turn the Tide — Your overshield from Defensive Strike lasts longer and increases melee damage and reload speed.
- Ward of Dawn — When Super energy is full, create an indestructible dome to protect you and your allies. Passing through Ward of Dawn grants you and your allies a temporary increase to weapon damage.
The Ward of Dawn comes in useful here when you get in a tight spot, and need a bubble. Defensive Strike is also good for the overshield generation.
Armour
There’s a couple of decent choices here.
First, Heart of Inmost Light. This is an Exotic Chest Armor which you can get from Xur or a random world drop exotic engram.
Overflowing Light – Using an ability (grenade, melee, or Barricade) empowers the other two abilities. Empowered means abilities have faster regen, melees and grenades do more damage, and Barricades have more hit points.
This works well to buff abilities, grenades are going to be useful for the Elemental Wells, plus using Ashes to Assets to create super energy.
Second, Stronghold.
This is a great Exotic for Titan’s if you like using swords.
Clenched Fist – Maximizes Guard stats on equipped Swords. Shots blocked immediately after guarding will heal you.
Back in update 2.8.0, Bungie buffed Stronghold by saying:
“Stronghold now maximizes sword defence stats, resulting in a high Defense guard that does not lose guard energy on taking hits or decay over time. The armour retains its existing healing functionality.”
This is great as it means you can essentially have unlimited guard when you wear these titan gloves. This provides protection to you, your teammates allowing you to run around slicing and chopping your enemies at will.
It’s pretty tough to pick between the 2. The benefits that Stronghold gives with the defensive options is great, but the ability regen is very with Heart of Inmost Light too. Best thing to do is try both out and see what works for you.
If you are running Hunter or Warlock then Orpheus Rig for the Hunter or Nezarec’s Sin would work well for replacement Exotic armour.
Mods
Anti-Barrier Auto Rifle (Seasonal artifact)
Unstoppable Grande Launcher (Seasonal artifact)
Ashes to Assets (Seasonal artifact) – Gain bonus energy on grenade kills.
Elemental Charge (2 Energy) – Become Charged with Light by picking up an elemental well. If the elemental well’s element type matches your subclass element, you gain 2 stacks of Charged with Light.
Elemental Ordnance (3 Energy) – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type.
Font of Wisdom (4 Energy) – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants you a temporary significant increase in your Intellect, improving the recharge rate of your Super. This gives you a +50 intellect boost for 30 secs, so this one is going to boost your super regeneration significantly.
Sword Reserves – Increases the amount of sword ammo you can carry.
Breach and clear – When using a greande launcher, damaging a boss, damaging a champion or breaking a combatants shields reloads your stowed weapons and causes the combatant to take increased damage for a short duration. (Seasonal artifact)
Let’s check out the build in action in the weekly Nightfall.
The Inverted Spire Guide
Although you travel a lot of distance in this Nightfall, it’s actually quite short and can be done in about 10 mins (probably much faster too). Once you start, hop on your sparrow and speed down to the first area where you’ll meet some Vex, dispatch of them quickly with Witherhoard shots or your sword. Watch out for the Cabal who’ll be attacking from the rear, trying to get the hop on your while you are busy with the Vex. Make quick work of them and then active the Vex device and jump over the ravine.
Here Cabal are going to fly in. Watch out for the snipers. You also have a Champion Colossus, watch out for his attacks and use the appropriate weapons with mods for the job to take him out. Then jump again.
In the next area you can attack from above, again watch out for the snipers as these can be a little crafty. There are a few champions here, but use your Witherhoard and Auto Rifle to take down their defences and make short work of them. Keep your eyes peeled for the Barrier Colussus, who can surprise you.
Once you have taken everyone down, keep making your way through the Nightfall and you’ll soon encounter another Barrier Colussus. Pierce his shields with the Gnawing Hunger, or whatever anti-barrier weapons you are using, and continue to jump down the path, watching out for the Cabal with the Double Swords.
Get down to the bottom and there will be a bunch of Vex, plus some other Champions, kill them and hop on your sparrow and head out into the open area. Watch out for the Vex and the Cabal here, there’s plenty of Snipers to watch out for plus lots of champions. The two you want to take care of quickly are in the small bases either side of the battlefield. Take them down, and turn on the jumping cannons. Jump up, and you’ll face another Champion and also once again when you jump down infront of the projection of the big Vex.
Next you’re going to have to defend a little so this is where the Ward of Dawn can come in handy. Lots of Cabal are going to land which include Warbeasts who are going to rush you, plus more champions. Take them out, jump over the ravine and continue down through the Nightfall.
Watch out for the Snipers up to your right hand side, and also there’s a champion here. Continue down the path and you’ll face more champions, but make short work of them and it’s then time to avoid the drill!
Make your way past the drill, and jump down towards the boss room. You should be able to make short work of the boss, given Lucent Blade, Crown Splitter and also Breach and Clear.
Now all you have to do is pick up all the loot that’s going to rain down on your at the end of the Nightfall. This week is a great week for Nightfall farming, and you should be able to get down to around under 10mins once you get into the rhythmn of the Nightfall and if you coorindate with your fireteam.
This build could be used for other nightfalls too, so if you are watching when it’s another nightfall then give this one a try, and hopefully it’ll help you out whether you’re using this guide during double rewards week, or in the future.
Let me know down in the comments what you think of the build, plus let me know what rewards you got!
