Getting Legendaries in Outriders is down to luck most of the time, but there is at least one way to get a guaranteed legendary drop in the back half of the campaign. Rather than defeat enemies, this is more of a puzzle, so today I am going to go through the locations of all the keystones in the Canyon of the Grand Obelisk so you can complete the Forgotten Chapel Side quest and get your hands on that guaranteed Legendary drop.
To get access to this side quest and puzzle you’re going to have to beat the campaign missions in the Canyon of the Grand Obelisk. You’ll know when you’re at the right place as it’ll be after you have to defend the entrance to the grand Obelisk. There’s a short cutscene that follows and then after that, you’ll be prompted to look through the remains of Monroy’s Camp. After picking up some notes on the floor the prompt says you should return to the camp when ready, which is the subtle way of saying ‘Look around’.
Go up the stairs, towards the big circle and you’ll find a Keystone with a palm print on it. You may have found some of these keystones in the previous mission, as I did, but at the time I didn’t know what they were for or what they would lead to. What you have to do next is find all the remaining keystone locations and switch them on, and then that is going to reveal a chest, and inside the chest will be your legendary weapon.
I started back at the campsite and then visited them in sequence, and it’s probably easier to show you than describe where I went because the ancient ruins can be a little confusing. I don’t think the order matters too much, so follow along in the video and I’ll put timestamps below for the keystone locations and how to get there so you can follow.
Once you have found all the keystones you’ll be led to a big round stone door covered with runes. Open up the door and you’ll find the chest and will complete the quest. Open up the chest and you’ll be rewarded a legendary weapon. I think it’s random as to which one you get. I got the Golem’s Limb Shotgun, which is a mean-looking shotgun that came with a perk that detonates the enemies bones when I shoot them. Sounds disgusting and I can’t wait to use it.
Let me know down in the comments how you get on with the Forgotten Chapel Side Quest and also let me kow what legendary you got inside the chest!
That’s it for this guide on the keystone locations and how to solve Forgotten Chapel puzzle to get yourself a guaranteed legendary drop in Outriders.
