Vigilance Wing remains one of the best Pulse Rifles in Destiny 2 even though it’s been around for some time. Today I am going to look at the stats, perks and also how to get Vigilance Wing in Destiny 2.
Vigilance Wing is an Exotic Kinetic Pulse Rifle. Checking out the stats we have Impact 33, Range 64, Stability 64, Handling 40, Reload Speed 46, Rounds Per Minute 530 and Magazine 30. Looking at the perks we have:
- Harsh Truths – This weapon fires a 5-round burst. When a nearby ally is killed, gain health regeneration and increased movement speed.
- Last Stand – Improved weapon performance and greatly increased recovery when its wielder is the last living member of a fireteam.
This one has been around for some time, since Season 1 of Destiny 2 back in 2017. Even though players who have been playing Destiny 2 since then know about this and how effective it can be in both PVE and PVP, it’s worth a reminder. It currently sits just outside the top 10 in the competitive PVP charts for exotic weapons, and given the amount of options we have for Exotic weapons this demonstrates it’s power.
Pulse Rifles aren’t in the best place they have been in the sandbox, and could be due for a revive sometime soon, but it’s worth having this in your collection and testing it out in a few games of PVP to see what you think.
How to get Vigilance Wing
To get this one, it’s a world drop exotic so can be found in exotic engrams. You can also pick this up from Xur when he’s selling it. If you don’t have it and pick up the exotic engram from Xur in exhange for legenadary shards, then you should have a good chance at getting the weapon given the drops are weighted to items you don’t have.
How to get the Vigilance Wing Catalyst
A way to further increase the effectiveness of Vigilance Wing is to get the catalyst. This is an RNG drop through crucible, so playing and completing crucible matches will help you get the Vigilance Wing Catalyst. Once you have the catalyst drop for you, then you have to complete a few objectives to unlock the full potential of the weapon.
What does the Vigilance Wing Catalyst do?
It helps you generate orbs, as all masterwork weapons do, but most importantly it gives the gun a full-auto mode. Rather than pressing the fire button repeatedly then you get to hold down the trigger to unlease the Vigilance Wing bullets. It comes down to personal preference as to whether this is suitable for you, but get in there in crucible and the catalyst will drop for you.
Finally today, let’s check out the lore.
Vigilance Wing Lore
“The eye remains open. The Lighthouse remains lit.” —Brother Vance
“What you hold was once a beacon. We came out of the shadows seeking those willing to join our search. We staged the trials in his name. It was once a reward for the chosen few— the ones who persevered when all seemed lost.”
“It was forged as a testament to his resolve, to seek answers where no one else cared to look and to continue down the path so many fell blazing. In your hands is proof that those who earned its firepower never gave up and never lost their way. You may not know the legend of Osiris or ever dared our trials, but should we call on you, will you honor the heralds who earned this weapon’s honor and continue the hunt?”
– Brother Vance, Disciple of Osiris
