Destiny 2 – One-Man Fireteam Warlock PVE Build with Getaway Artist and No Time To Explain

There’s a combination of Exotic Armour and Weapons in Destiny 2 that allows a Warlock to be a one-man fireteam with 3 sources of damage, compared to the regular one. Today I am going to go through this Warlock PVE build and show you how you can roam around PVE content with two extra turrets, helping you cause maximum damage in PVE content. The following is a Warlock PVE build with Getaway Artist and No Time To Explain.

Together with the exotic armour and weapons, we’re going to be using the new Elemental Well mods on this build. With our Exotic armour and weapons, we’re going to be spawning little helper turrets that are going to compliment us in battle, as well as cause maximum damage. Improving the build we’re going to be using the new Elemental Well Mods to help us get Charged with Light, and get our super back pretty fast meaning even more damage for this deadly Warlock PVE build.

Let’s dive right into the build and we’re going to start with the armour.

Armour

For this build I am going to be using Getaway Artist. This is an Exotic Warlock set of gauntlets. Looking at the perks we have:

  • Dynamic Duo – Convert your Arc Grenade into a supercharged Arc Soul. The Arc Soul functions as an autonomous turret.
  • Mobility Enhancement Mod – Increased mobility.

Here we’re going to be taking advantage of Dynamic Duo, where we can turn our arc grenade into a little arc buddy that’s going to help us take down enemies. This is powerful on its own, but when paired with No Time To Explain later on in the build we’re going to have a tag team of deadly turrets that are going to remove enemies from out path with ease.

Next up let’s have a look at the subclass.

Subclass

For this build I am using Attunement of the Elements which is bottom-tree Stormcaller.

  • Rising Storm — This electrocuting melee ability recharges your Super, grenade, and melee energy.
  • Landfall — On casting Stormtrance, fire a bolt of lightning into the ground, creating a devastating shockwave under you.
  • Electrostatic Surge — Your Rift lasts longer. It charges faster when allies are near.
  • Arc Soul — Your Rift now grants you or any ally that uses it an Arc Soul to aid in battle.

There’s a couple of benefits to the subclass, first of all, Rising Storm. Given we’re using Elemental Ordinance to help us generate Elemental Wells that are going to help us get our super back nice and fast. Rising Storm is going to help us generate grenade energy, and when this is paired with the demolitionist perk on one of our weapons, we’re going to have plenty of grenades to create Elemental Wells.

Arc Soul is also going to be useful as when we cast our Rift, this is going to grant us, or one of our allies an Arc Soul to help out in Battle. So it’s not only us that’s going to have more firepower, we can also share this benefit around the fireteam too.

Next up, let’s have a look at the weapons.

Weapons

For this build, I am using the Arc affinity with the subclass to help generate Elemental Wells. I’m using No Time To Explain, Salvager’s Salvo and Temptations Hook. The only must-have weapon here is No Time To Explain, so if you want to mix and match weapons that’s fine. It’s good to have a demolitionist weapon here for the grenade energy regeneration, plus something that benefits from charged with light damage improvements.

No Time To Explain is one of the best Pulse Rifles in Destiny 2 hands down which is very versatile and useful in both PVP and PVE. It’s a 340 rpm pulse making is good for medium and long-range encounters, and it packs a serious punch! It’s the perks that make this gun though, so let’s check that one out.

  • Rewind Again – Precision shots and shots against combatants slowed or frozen by Stasis will return to the magazine.
  • Time Slip – At 10 stacks of Rewind Again a small portal will open shooting bullets from an alternate timeline version of this weapon. Precision hits extend the duration of the portal.

Salvager’s Salvo is a Legendary Energy Arc Grenade Launcher that has a Lightweight Frame with a One-shot handheld Grenade Launcher with remote detonation.

  • Demolitionist – Kill with this weapon give grenade energy
  • Chain Reaction – Each final blow with this weapon creates an elemental damage explosion

Finally, in the power weapon slot I am using Temptations Hook.

In the kinetic slot, I am using No Time To Explain, which is going to spawn its own portal causing another source of bullets and damage. In the Energy slot, I am using Salvager’s Salvo, the pursuit weapon in Season of the Chosen. This is good because it comes fully masterwork with Demolitionist on it, which is going to help us get back more grenade energy, which in turn helps us spawn elemental wells through elemental ordinance mod. Font of Wisdom is then going to be used to help us improve super energy regeneration. Finally, Temptations Hook is going to be used in the heavy slot with Lucent Blade mod, for that increase in damage.

Mods

Elemental Charge (2 Energy) – Become Charged with Light by picking up an elemental well. If the elemental well’s element type matches your subclass element, you gain 2 stacks of Charged with Light.

Elemental Ordnance (3 Energy) – Defeating a combatant with a grenade spawns an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type. It’s best to use Use Vortex, Thermite, or Pulse Grenades to get the most use out of this mod.

Font of Wisdom (4 Energy) – Picking up an elemental well that matches your subclass energy type grants you a temporary significant increase in your Intellect, improving the recharge rate of your Super. This gives you a +50 intellect boost for 30 secs, so this one is going to boost your super regeneration significantly. Intellect cannot go above 100.

Lucent Blade (4 Energy) – While Charged with Light, dealing damage with a Sword gives you bonus Sword damage for 5 seconds, consuming one stack of Charged with Light.

The Elemental Well mods can be picked up from the H.E.L.M’s War Table, and they are new in Season of the Chosen. You use one mod to create a well (here Elemental Ordnance through grenade kills) and then Font of Wisdom helps us improve Super Energy recharge rate.

Given we’re using Elemental Ordnance to get Wells from grenade kills, this works really well with Demolitionist and also our subclass perk Rising Storm. We want to have as many grenades as possible, and have it constantly recharging to help us generate wells… then we pick them up to recharge super energy.

Lucent Blade is a great Charged with Light mod as this improves Sword Damage, and we’re using the Arc Tempatation’s Hook. We can also fire projectiles from a distance with this Sword, so the whole package is going to make us deadly in PVE content.

Gameplay

  • Get precision kills with No Time To Explain to activate Time Slip, this will spawn a turret from another dimension
  • Get some grenade kills to spawn Elemental Wells through Elemental Ordnance
  • Pick up the Wells to regen Super energy
  • Use Salavager’s Salvo to top up grenade energy
  • Convert one grenade into an Arc Buddy
  • Use your triple guns to take out enemies in PVE
  • Unleash your super and take down as many as you can
  • Rinse and repeat

Let me know what you think of the build down there in the comments and if you have any improvements, let us know.

That’s it for this One-Man Fireteam Warlock PVE Build with Getaway Artist and No Time To Explain.
