Destiny 2 – How to get Code Duello (Legendary Rocket Launcher)

Code Duello is a new rocket launcher added into Destiny 2 as part of Season of the Chosen. This season we’ve seen a massive buff to rocket damage, plus some really cool new perks added to the loot pool to really spice things up in the power slot. Rockets are back big time, and Code Duello is one of the best. Today I am going to look at the weapon and stats, the rolls you want for PVE and PVP plus the all-important how-to get Code Duello in Destiny 2.

Code Duello Stats

Code Duello is a Legendary Power Rocket Launcher with a High-Impact Frame meaning it’s Slow-firing and high-damage. This weapon is more accurate when stationary and aiming down sights. Looking at the stats we have Stability 62, Handling 72, Reload Speed 42, Velocity 48, Blast Radius 95, Rounds Per Minute 15 and Magazine 1.

Code Duello Perk Pool

This one can roll with Chain Reaction, Lasting Impression, Unrelenting, Cluster Bomb, Frenzy and Ambitious Assassin in the 4th slot. Lasting Impression is a very good new perk, which I’ll go into more detail about in a minute. You can never really go wrong with Cluster Bomb and Frenzy is another new one too where you get increased damage, handling and reload speed for being in combat for an extended period of time. In the third slot, we have Impulse Amplifier, Quickdraw, Field Prep, Surplus and Autoloading Holster.

Popular rolls out there in the community at the moment are Impulse Amplifier and Cluster Bomb, that’s a great PVE roll to look out for. Autoloading Holster and Chain Reaction is another good PVE roll. Quickdraw and Frenzy might be one to look out for related to PVP and finally Surplus and Lasting Impression is another good PVE roll.

How to get Code Duello

To get this one it’s a random drop from the end of Battlegrounds. Load up the Hammer of Proving with Cabal Gold and smash open the loot chest at the end of a Battleground for a chance at this weapon.

Rockets Buff

Bungie said in Update 3.1.0:

Increased Rocket Launcher damage by ~30% against Miniboss tier enemies and above.
Exotic Rocket Launchers have been adjusted individually and are affected by this change to different degrees.

The 30% increase in damage had brought Rockets Launchers up to a new level and you are seeing them in all kinds of activities now. It’s worth testing out any exotic rockets you may have because these have been adjusted on their own.

New Rocket Perks

We also have a new perk called Lasting Impression – Rockets attach on impact and detonate after a delay. Increases blast radius and damage. This is super fun, but do be aware and don’t go near the enemy the rocket attaches to because they will likely explode near you and kill you. Be aware in Battlegrounds sometimes Cabal rush you when they have been shot with a rocket, especially a champion with them teleporting all over the place.

There’s another one called Impulse Amplifier which massively increases projectile velocity and increases reload speed. This is going to work really well with something like a Cluster Bomb. Getting that explosive payload to the enemies as fast as possible is going to help you clear out the enemies faster.
