Genshin Impact – New Character Ganyu and New Event Lost Riches

We have a new 5-star character Ganyu coming to Genshin Impact this week plus a new event called Lost Riches. Today I am going to have a look at Ganyu in a little more detail, plus check out the details of the event Lost Riches.

Ganyu is the second 5-star character to join Genshin Impact as part of the 1.2 updates following on from Albedo. Ganyu is a bow-wielding, Cryo character who looks like she can dish out some mean icy AoE damage based on the new character profile Mihoyo have released today.

The new event, called Lost Riches, is a kind of treasure hunt where you you have to search for Iron Coins which can be used to trade in for rewards.

First of all let’s have a look at Ganyu.

Weapon: Bow
Vision: Cryo

Affiliation: Yuehai Pavillion

Talents

Normal Attack: Perform up to 6 concecutive shots with a bow

Charged Attack: Perform a more precise aimed shot with increased DMG. While aiming an icy aura will accumulate on the arrowhead before the arrow is fired. Has different effects based on how long the energy has been charged.

  • Charge level 1: Fires off an icy arrow that deals Cryo DMG
  • Charge level 2: Fires off a frostflake arrow that deals Cryo DMG. The frostflake arrow blooms after hitting it’s target, dealing AoE Cryo DMG

Trail of the Qilin

Leaving a single Ice Lotus behind, Ganyu dashes backward, stunning all impurity and dealing AoE Cryo DMG. The Ice Lotus continuously taunts surrounding opponents, attracting them to attack it. It’s endurance scales based on Ganyu’s Max HP, and it blooms profusely when destroyed or once it’s duration ends dealing AoE Cryo DMG.

Celestial Shower Coalesces atmospheric frost and snow to summon a Sacred Cryo Pearl that exorcises evil. While active, the Sacred Cryo Pearl will continuously rain down shards of ice, striking opponents within it’s AoE and dealing Cryo DMG.

Story

As the secretary of Yuehai Pavillion, Ganyu undertakes many tasks that ordinary folk do not see. The calculations and data behind the Qixing’s every decision in Liyue, as well as every ordinance and regulation that is announced, are all the meticulous work of Ganyu.

Each daybreak she stands by the dock, enjoying her breakfast in silence. Even still, by the time the sun has fully risen, she will have returned to Yuehai Pavillion overlooking Yujing Terrace, to continue to fulfill her contract – one that she signed three thousand years ago with Rex Lapis.

Interesting Facts: Qingxin

Qingxin Flowers are bitter, but Ganyu thinks their petals are pretty tasty. Ganyu doesn’t plant any Qingxin at Yujing Terrace because they are so good that she worries she wouldn’t be able to control herslef.

Anything to Share

“Where merchants flock and all ships dock, and over the oceans flow is stock.” People say this in praise of Liyue’s prosperity. But a city only becomes this successful through everyone playing their part diligently. That’s the attitude Ganyu takes towards her work – she wants to be worthy of that which is employed in Liyue.

Hobbies are suppored to be things you look forward to doing, and that make you feel good when you’ve done them. Going by that logic, Ganyu’s hobby… is her job of course.

Lost Riches Event

During the event, Travelers can make their way over to Stone Gate to find Ulman, who will give you a Treasure Book along with a special gadget — a Treasure-Seeking Seelie. Go to the locations hinted at in the Treasure Book to search for Iron Coins, which can be used to exchange for rewards.

Reach Adventure Rank 20 or above.
And complete Prologue: Act I “The Outlander Who Caught the Wind.”

Details

In areas with hidden treasure, the Treasure-Seeking Seelie will guide you to find locations where Iron Coins are buried. These Iron Coins can be exchanged in the event shop for one of the commemorative event gadgets Mini Seelie: Dayflower, Mini Seelie: Rosé, or Mini Seelie: Curcuma!

After completing certain treasure areas, you will unlock special treasure clues. Find the special treasure to get Primogems and other rewards!

The three Mini Seelie gadgets can only be exchanged for after completing all of the treasure areas. You can only exchange for one type of Mini Seelie in this event period; after exchanging for one type, the other two will become unavailable.
