Seasonal weapons are nothing new and with Season of the Hunt we have a bunch of new weapons to chase and collect, and there are some pretty good roll combinations available for both PVE and PVP. Today I am going to look at the best weapons from Wrathborn Hunts available in Season of the Hunt as well the best rolls for PVP and PVE.
These weapons are available as part of Season of the Hunt, so you’re going to need the season pass to get hold of them. There’s a couple of ways you can get these weapons. Two of them are available through the Season pass, Royal Chase at rank 30 and Blast Batue at rank 45. You can also turn in Recon Data which can be acquired through successful Wrathborn Hunts and rank up at Crow to get engrams, which generally give you weapons from the seasonal loot pool.
These weapons can be target farmed through the Wrathborn Hunts too through the process of picking and choosing the Prey Mod Lure on the Cryptolith Lure. Inspect the lure and pick and choose the prey mod, some have weapons and some have armour as well as progress towards Leviathan’s Breath catalyst and lure mod mutations. Pick and choose the weapons you want to target farm, apply the prey mod and off you go on a Wrathborn Hunt. The loot should drop once you have killed the Wrathborn.
Let’s have a closer look at some of the weapons. I’m going to rank them in my personal preference, but I think they are all worth checking out.
Defeaning Whisper (Energy Grenade Launcher)
Deafening Whisper is a Legendary Energy Grenade Launcher. This is a Wave Frame, One-shot handheld Grenade Launcher. Projectiles release a wave of energy when they contact the ground. This is a void grenade launcher and takes special ammo.
Looking at the stats it has 44 for stability, 75 for handling, 73 for reload speed, 68 for velocity and 55 for blast radius. It’s a 72 rounds per minute grenade launcher with 1 in the magazine.
The curated roll comes with Smart Drift Control for the increase in stability, handling speed and projectile speed, Proximity Grenades where grenades fired from this have proximity detection, Killing Wind where final blows improve mobility, weapon range, and handling for a short duration and finally Rampage where kills with the weapon grant increased damage and stack up to three times.
For PVE Lead from Gold were picking up heavy ammo also grants ammo and Rampage is a good pick. For PVP Killing Wind and Wellspring would be a nice pick. The most popular roll for this at the moment is Ambitious Assassin and Wellspring.
Corsair’s Wrath (Linear Fusion Rifle)
Corsair’s Wrath is a Legendary Power Linear Fusion Rifle which is a precision frame meaning it fires a long-range precision energy bolt. This weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical. For the stats, it’s got Impact 41, Range 41, Stability 44, Handling 32, Reload Speed 30, Charge Time 533 and 5 in the Magazine.
The curated roll comes with Kill Clip where reloading after a kill grants increased damage and also No Distractions where aiming this weapon for a short period reduces flinch. It also comes with Ionised Battery for increased magazine size and decreases in reload speed and finally Extended Barrel for an increase in range.
For PVP Quickdraw and Moving Target would be a good roll and for PVE Firmly Planted and Demolitionist would be good. The most popular roll out there with the community at the moment is Outlaw and Thresh, with Thresh being a great new perk this season which grants a small amount of super energy on kills. I’m not a huge fan of Linear Fusion Rifles but this one seems quick and pretty deadly, so it’s worth checking out.
Blast Battue (Power Grenade Launcher)
Blast Battue is a Legendary Power Grenade Launcher and is an Adaptive Frame meaning it’s a well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. Looking at the stats we have Stability 44, Handling 47, Reload Speed 46, Velocity 44, Blast Radius 30, Rounds Per Minute 120 and Magazine 6.
The curated roll for this one comes with Rampage where kills with the weapon temporarily increase damage which stacks up to 3 times and Moving Target where increased movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down sights. It also comes with High-Velocity Rounds and Quick Launch.
For PVE Clown Cartridge and Chain Reaction would be great. Chain Reaction is a new perk this season where each final blow creates elemental damage explosions, which is new for our grenade launchers. For PVP, Killing Wind Rampage or Killing Wind and Disruption Break would be great. Disruption Break is great for that combo, where you can rip off someone’s shields in PVP and finish them off with a Kinetic weapon.
To get this one you have to reach rank 45 on the season pass, once you do that it’ll be added into the available loot pool for you to get along with the other weapons.
Friction Fire (Submachine gun)
Friction Fire is a Legendary Kinetic Submachine Gun and it’s got a Precision Frame meaning this weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical.
In terms of stats, it’s got 25 for impact, 56 for range, 43 for stability, 29 for handling and 26 for reload speed. It’s 600 rounds per minute SMG with 26 in the magazine. For the hidden stats it’s got 52 for aim assist, 22 for inventory size, 16 for zoom, 85 for recoil, and 15 for bounce intensity.
The curated roll on this one comes with Full Bore for the increase in range but a decrease in handling and stability, Extended Mag for the increase in magazine size but a decrease in reload speed, Field Prep for an increase in ammo and faster reloading plus Rampage where kills give you an increase in damage for a short time – and this stacks up to 3 times.
For PVP WellSpring, where kills generate ability energy and Zen Moment were causing damage improves the stability. Killing Wind is also good here where final blows increase mobility, range and handling for a short duration. Accurized or Steady rounds would be good as well as Polygonal Rifling for the barrel for more increased stability.
For PVE Threat Detector where you get an increase to reload, stability and handling when enemies are near and Vorpal Weapon would be good, where you get increased damage against bosses, vehicles and Guardians with their Super Active.
The most popular roll with this weapon at the moment is Killing Wind and Wellspring, as well as accurized rounds and Arrowhead break.
Royal Chase (Scout rifle)
Royal Chase is a Legendary Energy Scout Rifle which is a precision frame meaning this weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical. In terms of the stats Impact 62, Range 44, Stability 44, Handling 47, Reload Speed 46, Rounds Per Minute 180 and Magazine 16.
The curated roll comes with Dragonfly where precision kills create elemental damage, Auto Loading holster where the weapon is automatically reloaded after a short time. It also comes with Flared Magwell for fast reloading, increased stability and finally Arrowhead Break for better recoil control and increased handling speed.
For PVP Quickdraw and No Distractions would be a decent roll and for PVE the curated roll would be good with Dragonfly and Auto Loading Holster. The most popular roll at the moment out there in the Destiny Community is Dragonfly and Auto Loading Holster, but that is most likely due to the initial roll on the season pass.
