In Beyond Light Bungie has brought back the Legend Lost Sectors which were very popular during Season of the Worthy. As well as being hard as nails content, there’s also some really good rewards at the end if you can complete these solo. Legend Lost Sectors were first introduced in Season of the Worthy. While much of the season was a bit of a letdown, the Legend Lost Sectors were a big hit with players. Bungie saw the potential in them and have since brought them in Beyond Light. It’s not immediately obvious they exist though and there are a few steps to get through to get to the content.
One of the best things about these new Legend and Master Lost Sectors though are the rewards, particularly if you are going to do them solo. Bungie revealed a few weeks before Beyond light a look at the Exotics coming to Beyond Light, and many thought that they would simply be put into the world loot pool as per normal. This isn’t the case in Beyond Light – they are now rewards for the Legend and Master Lost Sectors for solo runs. You can get the loot drops from Legend, although they are going to be rarer in this activity. Once you get to Master Lost Sectors then they are going to be much more frequent. Do beware though, they are pretty tough solo content. Let’s check out how to access them.
How to unlock Legend and Master Lost Sectors
To be able to access Legend and Master Lost sectors you have to do a couple of things:
- Reach 1200 power level
- Beat the Lost Sectors on regular difficulty
Getting to 120 power should be fairly straight forward, just go out there and play the game and drops from any activity will help you. Public events, strikes, crucible – all drops are going to contribute towards getting higher power levels. Once you’ve done that run through the lost sectors on regular mode and you’ll unlock the legend versions.
Once you have unlocked them they will be indicated on the map by a blue icon with a sword and shield.
Legend and Master Lost Sectors Requirements
Legend Lost Sector: 1250 Power
Master Lost Sector: 1280 Power
It’s going to be difficult to tackle these early on in the season, especially if you are planning on going in solo for those exotic rewards. It would be worth levelling up to about 1230 before trying this solo.
These Lost Sectors are going to be full of regular enemies, which are now going to seem much tougher than they were before. Also, and crucially they are going to be filled with Champions. Barrier Champions, Overload Champions and more. Here’s where the seasonal artifact comes into play. In the first track you’re going to want to unlock the mods there and equipment them on your armour before going into the Lost Sectors – otherwise these champions are going to be invincible. Some regain shields, some regenerate energy and this can be super frustrating if you don’t know what is going on.
Some useful weapons for these Lost Sectors are going to be Eriana’s Vow (Exotic Hand Cannon), Falling Guillotine Sword for the power slot and also Scout Rifles, Pulse Rifles, Auto Rifles and Hand Cannons as they appear to be the weapons you can put the Anti Barrier and Overload mods on this season. As you get further up the season pass there are more mods that will help you. So try and unlock as much of the Artifact as possible. There’s currently an XP Farm Glitch in the game, allowing you to farm repeatable bounties. However, that’s likely to be patched very soon. Rank up your season pass by gathering XP from bounties and activity completions and grab those mods to give yourself the best chance possible in these Lost Sectors.
Next up, let’s check out the rewards.
Rewards
If you can solo these new lost sectors you’ll get your hands on the new exotics armour found in Beyond Light. Previously exotic armour has been in the world loot pool, however, now you can farm for them by doing these end game activities. This is probably one of the best improvements in Beyond Light.
The rewards are as follows
Icefall Mantle (Titan Exotic Gauntlets) – Stand tall against the oncoming hordes with this reinforced armour that replaces the Titan’s Barricade with Overshield, absorbing damage from incoming fire. This is something I’ve been wanting for sometime. Yeah sure a barricade is great, but an overshield on command is going to be awesome.
Precious Scars (Titan Exotix Helm) – Prove your strength, even when coming back from the brink. Upon revives, the Titan gains an Overshield aura that protects the wearer and nearby allies. This looks very cool and interesting to see both Titan exotics moving more towards the overshield, rather than the barrier. The Aura looks similar to the mechanic in The Garden of Salvation raid.
Mask of Bakris (Hunter Exotic Helm) – Don the Mask to replace the Hunter’s Dodge ability with a longer range Shift ability that also temporarily cloaks the wearer during use. This brings back Blink to Hunters in Beyond Light, although called Shift here. If you haven’t played D1 then you wouldn’t be aware that Hunter’s had the ability to blink, but now it’s coming back. It’s nice to see some exotics here replacing abilities which is really going to switch up the playstyle for our Guardians.
Arthrys’s Embrace (Hunter Exotic Gauntlets) – The Hunter’s weighted knife gains a second ricochet; rapid precision hits to gain a damage bonus and can temporarily stagger enemies. This looks nice for the Hunter’s getting the second ricochet, otherwise seems fairly unremarkable (I’m sure that one will come back to bite me in the future!).
Dawn Chorus (Warlock Exotic Helm) – Feel that sweet burn. The Warlock’s Daybreak projectiles deal extra damage and cause enemies to burn on contact. Gain melee energy each time a burn damages a target. This one looks pretty powerful for the Warlock’s especially with the extra damage AND getting melee energy each time the damage occurs. That looks deadly!
Necrotic Grip (Warlock Exotic Gauntlets) – A deadly caress, compounded. Melee attacks corrupt enemies with increasing damage over time. Defeating a corrupted combatant spreads the corruption to nearby targets and restores melee energy.
Let me know down in the comments how you get on with the Legend and Master Lost Sectors.
