Bungie has added a persuit weapon into Beyond Light and it’s called Adored. Yes, it looks a lot like Beloved, everyone’s favourite sniper from the Season of Opulence. When you finish up the main Beyond Light campaign you’re going to want to get onto this quest pretty quickly. The following is a guide for how to get Adored in Destiny 2 Beyond Light.
We’ve just been through a whole bunch of sunsetting, meaning our old, loved weapons have been capped at 1060 power. So a bunch of old weapons like Beloved are now gone or gathering dust in our vaults. It’s not all bad though because Bungie has added Adored into the game – the new pursuit weapon for Beyond Light.
Bungie wanted to give us some more options on how to acquire the pursuit weapon. In the past, they have been locked behind a specific activity like Gambit, Crucible or Vanguard strikes, but now we can choose our own path to get this weapon by doing any of those activities. Then once you earn the weapon you can get a specific activity ornament to show off to all your friends.
How to get Adored fast and easy
To start this quest you want to go to Banshee in the Tower and pick up the quest. He has 3 variants of the quest – Strikes, Crucible and Gambit. If you want you can do any of these and take your time, however, if you want to get it done nice and fast then I have a method here for you today.
To get this weapon the fastest way you want to select the Vanguard Strikes method of obtaining the weapon. There are 2 parts to this quest, and the first step is most likely going to take the most amount of time. For this quest you have to defeat 40 bosses, fill up a bar of defeating combatants to 100% and also fill up a bar of points to 100%.
If you were to do this the normal way then it would take approx 40 strikes. You can cut this in half by doing a strike with 2 bosses (for example The Broodhold Strike). If you were to do 40 strikes then that could take you 5 or 6 hours. This method cuts that down to approxmately an hour and half.
The best way to do this is to load into the Corrupted Strike on the Dreaming City. Instead of completing the strike as per normal drive round to the Blind Well and complete runs in there. Once you get there, hopefully you’ll find other Guardians there to help you out. If you do a Tier III Blind well then you’re going to get 3 bosses at the end. You may want to stock up on Tier III charges of light, and to get these head on over and speak to Petra Venj before going into the Strike.
Once you are in there it’s best to have a Sniper in as many slots as possible. I was running The Long Shadow in my Kinetic slot, Gnawing Hunger in my Energy slot and then Whisper of the Worm in my power slot. This allowed me to get snipes off whenever I had secondary or heavy ammo. I did notice that the second requirement for combatants did fill up even though I was killing with Gnawing Hunger, so I don’t think you have to get Sniper kills for that even though the text says Sniper Rifle precision final blows grant the most efficient progress.
I did the whole thing solo. If you load into the Corrupted Strike you may find teams who are there doing what you’re doing (farming for sniper kills for Adored) or you can load up the Bungie app and easily find a team who will help you out. I made a post with the title ‘Sniper kill farming in Blind Well for Adored’ and managed to find people easily who were willing to help. If you don’t find people and load into the Strike and just head off to the Blind Well on your own, then when you die you’ll be transported back to the strike… so beware of that.
Once you have finished the first step of the quest, then there’s a much shorter step next up. Here you have to Get precision final blows with a Sniper Rifle or Sniper Rifle defeat streaks without dying in Strikes. Defeated in streaks is 35 and precision final blows is 10. You can continue in the Blind Well to complete this step and thankfully it doesn’t take too long, maybe 10 mins or so.
When you have finished this step of the quest then it’s time to head back to the Tower and speak to Banshee to pick up Adored.
Now we have the weapon, let’s check out the details. Adored is a Legendary Energy Sniper Rifle which has an Adaptive Frame – A well-rounded grip, reliable and sturdy. Similar looking to Beloved, albeit with a little scarf tied around it.
Let’s have a look at the stats. We have 70 for impact, 55 for range, 51 for stability, 52 for handling and 44 for reload speed. It’s 90 rounds per minute sniper with 4 in the magazine.
This one is a fixed roll and it comes full masterworked The perks on the weapon are
- Hammer Forged Rifling for increased range
- Accurized Rounds for more range
Then you have some options in the third slot
- Triple Tap – Rapidly landing precision hits will return one round to the mag
- Killing Wind – Final blows increase mobility, range and handling for a short duration
and some options in the fourth slot too
- Vorpal Weapon – Increased damage against bosses, vehicles and guardians in their super
- Snapshot Sights – Faster time to aim down sights
There are some nice options for both PVE and PVP here. For example, in PVP snapshot sights is a given and that would go nicely with Killing Wind. In PVE Triple Tap and Vorpal Weapon would be very good, so you can mix and match the perks to find a combo that works for you.
There are also ornaments for Adored – one from Vanguard, one from Crucible and one from Gambit. The Vanguard one is called the Balistraria Wrap and for this you need 70 sniper rifle kills, 20 rapid defeats and 50 boss kills. The crucible one is called The Rubicund Wrap and you need 50 sniper kills, 20 sniper rifle final blows and defeat Guardians as a team in crucible (by filling up a bar to 100%). The gambit one is called The Snakeskin Wrap and this time you need 70 sniper kills, 20 rapid kills and bank motes as a team.
Let me know down in the comments what you think of Adored and if you have a faster way of getting it, let me know!
