Destiny 2 – Entropic Shard Locations And How To Complete the Aspect of Control quest guide

Once you get past the main campaign in Beyond Light you’re going to start working on the quests on Europa, and one of those quests is given to you by The Exo Stranger. This is your first step to getting more out of Stasis, so you’re going to want to start on this quest as soon as possible. The following is a guide for five entropic shard locations and how to complete the Aspect of Control quest.

Once you have finished up the main campaign have a chat with the Exo Stranger and she’ll give you the Born into Darkness quest. Once you complete this you’ll get access to Aspect of Control. This is all about honing your darkness abilities with stasis and opening up more abilities through a series of questlines.

The part of Born into Darkness is fairly straight forward, simply follow the quest instructions in the game. However, when you reach Aspect of Control you are asked to find 5 Entropic Shards located around Europa. There’s no indication of these locations on the map, but I am going to go through those locations today to make it nice and easy for you. I have included timestamps down below so if you have one or two already you can skip forward if you need to.

Note, you’re going to need Salvation’s Grip (Exotic Grenade Launcher) to destroy the shards, so pick up that quest from Drifter and do that first if you haven’t got it already. I made a guide for that quest, which you can find here.

Entropic Shard 1 – Asterion Abyss

For the first shard make your way to Asterion Abyss and there you’ll find a big Vex structure in the middle. Climb to the top and at the north of the structure and you’ll find the first Entropic Shard at the north side of the structure. Shoot it with Slavation’s Grip, then it’s time to find the next one.

Entropic Shard 2 – Concealed Void Lost Sector

The next Entropic Shard is very close to the first one. Jump off the structure and head underground to the Concealed Void Lost Sector which is close by. Make your way to the end of the Lost Sector, kill the boss and you’ll find the Entropic Shard above you. Look up, shoot it with Salvation’s Grip and then it’s time to move onto the next one.

Entropic Shard 3 – Cadmus Ridge

The third entropic shard can be found outside the Bray Tech Facility in Cadmus Ridge. It’s pretty much out there in the open next to some Fallen enemies. Shoot it with Salvation’s Grip and then it’s time to move onto the next one.

Entropic Shard 4 – Riis-Reborn Approach

For this Entropic Shard, you want to make your way to Riis-Reborn Approach and make your way through the facility. Keep going through until you get past the second elevator, near where you had the encounter with Eramis in the main campaign. Just after you go up the elevator you’ll see some stairs, go behind and then shoot the entropic shard with Salvations Grip and it’s time to find the final one.

Entropic Shard 5 – Technocrat’s Iron

This one is probably the furthest from any of the starting points. From where you found the 4th entropic shard, keep going forward and jump through the teleporter. Keep going forward and hang a left. You’ll know you are going in the right direction when you see Technocrat’s Iron prompt in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Keep going under you get to a big arena with huge pillars. Next to one of the pillars and up in mid-air, you’re going to find the final Entropic Shard. Shoot it with Salvation’s Grip.

There are 9 Entropic Shards in total, so you may find others. If you do find them, post them down there in the comments and share with the community.

Now you have found the 5 entropic shards, you’ll see a quest marker on the map. Head towards that and commune with the Crux of Darkness. You’ll have to beat a few enemies, including an Overload champion so make sure you have the appropriate mods attached to one of your weapons, this is going to make it very easy to beat him. Do that and you’ll get your first Aspect. I’m a Titan, so this aspect allows me to slide into frozen enemies to shatter them!

Let me know how you get on with finding the Entropic Shards down there in the comments.

That’s it for this guide on how to get Salvation’s Grip. For more Destiny 2 Beyond Light content check out the full guide and subscribe on YouTube to This Week In Video Games today.
