Destiny 2 – How to get Stryker’s Sure-Hand (Legendary Sword)
Stryker’s Sure-Hand is a legendary sword that comes from the Black Armory and since the buff to swords has come into play in Season of the Worthy this will be a deadly addition to your weapon collection. The following is a guide for how to get Stryker’s Sure-Hand in Destiny 2.
The good news for this weapon is you can farm for it specifically with Weapon frames acquired from Ada-1 and farm through the Black Armory Forges found on the rotating playlist on the EDZ. Go and have a chat with Ada found in the Annex in the Tower and pick up the Sword frame. If you haven’t opened up the forges yet, there is a quest to get through with Ada and she’ll talk you through it. The quest is worth it as you can get some great weapons through the Forges.
Pick up the frame from Ada-1
Once you have picked up the frame, check out the quest steps. There are normally a few parts to these quests, which involve picking up a few items and then running forges to create the weapon.
Weapon Core and Photonic Power Cells
The first steps include picking up a weapon core and getting photonic power cells. What I did for this was head to The Gluch on the EDZ, as there’s a Black Armory crate and a bunch of Cabal there. Drop into the Gluch and then make your way over to the crate, which is sitting outside a cave. Open up the crate and pick up the weapon core. I then went to Trostland, as Cabal keep dropping in and respawning there and I used them to finish up the power cells part of the quest.
Sword Alpha Frame
Next, you’ll be presented with the Sword Alpha frame. Here you need to defeat 50 enemies and 5 powerful enemies. For this one, I went into the daily forge, found on the EDZ in the bottom left-hand corner. You’ll have consistent waves on enemies coming at you as well as powerful enemies, so this is a good place to get this step done quickly. This one took me about 10-15 minutes of hanging out in the forges to get this done.
Sword Beta Frame
Next up you have to get multi-kills with a sword. Again, I went back into a Forge (as I was doubling up with Guardian Games at the time for my daily medals) and wait until enemies bunch up to get those multi-kills. You can wait near the entrance of where they come out and try and get in there early before your teammates shoot them. I did this on the Volundr Forge and found this was a good one, as at the back it’s a small cave and the enemies can get stuck close together. Keep going until you get the 15 multi-kills you need, then it’s onto the next step of the quest.
Sword Calibrated frame
Next up it’s time to calibrate the frame. This time we need to collect 20 Radiant Seeds, and you do this by defeating powerful enemies. I went back into the forge as this seemed like a good source of powerful enemies. Finish up collecting the Radiant Seeds and you’ll get something called a Radiant Matrix.
When you’ve done that head back to the Tower and speak to Ada-1.
Radiant Sword Frame
Ada takes the Radiant Matrix and the Sword frame and combines them to make a radiant sword frame. The final step of the quest is to run another forge, making sure you light the ignition for this run, meaning you’ll need to complete both phases and kill the boss at the end.
Go back into the Forge, kill the boss at the end and the sword will drop for you.
Stryker’s Sure-Hand
This is an adaptive frame sword which sits in the power weapon slot. It’s got a heavy uppercut attack and heavy attacks are stronger with full energy.
The charge time on this one is 20 and the ammo capacity is 60. It’s got good impact of 60 and not bad swing speed of 46.
The curated roll comes with tempered edge for the increase in damage and ammo, balanced sword for the balanced defences, assassins blade where sword kills boost movement speed and damage and finally, surrounded where this weapon gains bonus damage when three or more enemies are in close proximity.
Mine’s got Enduring Blade, Heavy Guard, Tireless Blade and Surrounded. This isn’t too bad, but I’d probably prefer Assassins blade to be honest. I’ll have to go back into the Forge and get another one!
The only thing left to do is head into your favourite activity and try it out. It felt only fitting to go back into a Forge, so I shared with it the Cabal.
Let me know down in the comments what you think of Stryker’s Sure-Hand. How do you think it compares with other swords and what other Black Armory weapons did you get?
