Destiny 2 – How to get Waking Vigil (Legendary Hand Cannon)

Waking Vigil is a great hand cannon that was introduced during Destiny 2 Forsaken. This is another 150 rpm hand cannon that’s going to be a great addition to the arsenal for competitive PVP playlists. The following is a guide for how to get Waking Vigil.

Waking Vigil is available a few ways – by farming activities on the Dreaming City and also using the Chalice of Opulence to farm from the final chest in the Menagerie.

For the Chalice, you’ll want to load up a Rune of Desire in the top slot and any green rune in the left slot. If you’re short on runes, get the rune finder from Werner on the Barge on Nessus and open up the chests on the barge. Once you have the right runes in the right slots of the Chalice, run the Menagerie and you’ll get that drop at the end.

You can also farm this weapon from activities on the Dreaming City. Pick up the bounties from Petra and run public events and you can also do Blind Well to have a chance for this weapon to drop. The weekly bounties with Petra have been successful for me in the past.

Waking Vigil is a 150 rpm hand cannon with 12 in the magazine. This is an energy hand cannon too, so could be paired up with useful kinetic weapons like Revoker, Supremacy, Dust Rock Blues or SUROS Regime.

The stats on this weapon are great, as well as the fast-firing rounds per minute, you have big impact stats with 80, great handling 67 and reload speed 60. In the hidden stats there’s 85 aim assist and 98 on recoil, so it’s another good one for controller users.

Good PVP rolls would want something like Outlaw and Opening Shot, whereas a PVE roll may want something like Dragonfly. The curated roll comes with Snapshot Sights for the faster aim down sights and Outlaw for precision kills decreases reload time.

Let me know down in the comments what you think of the Waking Vigil? How do you think it compares to other hand cannons and is it something you’ll be taking into competitive PVP playlists like Trials or Iron Banner?
