Destiny 2 – How to get Erentil FR4 (Legendary Fusion Rifle)

Erentil FR4 is the king of the legendary fusion rifles and was introduced all the way back in season 1 of Destiny 2. Fusions have been nerfed recently, however, such as the power of Erentil – this is still a deadly choice for PVP and PVE. The following is a guide for how to get Erentil FR4.

The best way to get this weapon is to dump materials into the Gunsmith and if RNG is on your side then you’ll get a drop and hopefully a good roll.

If you don’t have a bunch of Gunsmith Materials, then you can also farm this from Menagerie. You’ll need to have upgraded your chalice, and you’ll need a Rune of Excess in the top slot and any blue rune in the left slot. If you need runes, as always get runefinder from Werner on the Barge on Nessus and open up chests. Once you have the correct runes in the slots, run the menagerie and get that Erentil drop at the end.

Bungie did balance fusion rifles in update 2.8.0 and said

  • Target acquisition for fusion rifles has been adjusted to no longer account for precision locations.
  • Previously, target acquisition could actually cause the player’s volley to deviate from the intended aim vector, causing most of the volley to miss.
  • Damage falloff for this weapon archetype can now floor at 0.5x (Previously 0.75x)
  • Effective range and the impact of the optics stat for this weapon archetype has been reduced across the board.

Erentil is a high-impact frame, energy fusion rifle that’s got an 860 charge time and 5 in the magazine. It’s got high impact stats of 95 and a pretty good range of 59. Good perks on this gun include Firmly Planted, High Impact Reserves and Back Up Plan

The curated roll comes with Under Pressure for improved stability and accuracy as the magazine gets lower, also Accelerated Coil for the faster charge time and Liquid Coils for increase in damage.

Let me know down in the comments what you think of the Erentil FR4? What do you think of it after the nerf and do you think it’s still a big contender in PVP and PVE?
