Season of the Worthy

Destiny 2 – The Best Auto Rifles for Trials of Osiris and PVP

Auto Rifles are getting a buff in Season of the Worthy coming on March 10th 2020 which is likely to make Auto Rifles much more viable in PVP. The following is a guide for the best auto rifles for Trials of Osiris and PVP.

In recent seasons Scout Rifles, Side Arms and Hand Cannons have had their time, but this buff from Bungie could see Auto Rifles coming back into play in a serious way in PVP. The buffs are as follows:

Some small tweaks have been made to give Auto Rifles a small boost in efficacy for the Crucible—though they also influence PvE. The nature of the way Destiny is played tends to have Semi-Auto based weaponry be more effective in general and so we’re compensating for that with these tweaks.

These are fairly modest changes intended to give Auto Rifles more of a chance in an open fight without attempting to drag the TTK of the entire game down.

The following impact values have changed:

  • Precision Frame 17/27.2 Default/Precision (Previously 17/25.5)
  • Adaptive Frame 15.75/25.2 Default/Precision (Previously 13.75/22)
  • Rapid-Fire Frame 13.4/20.1 Default/Precision (Previously 12.5/18.75)

Let’s check out the best auto rifles for Trials of Osiris and PVP.

Monte Carlo

This is an Exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle that was introduced during Destiny 2 Shadowkeep. This one comes from random world drops and exotic engrams. This is an adaptive frame auto rifle that’s going to receive the biggest buff. It’s a 600 rpm auto rifle too.

This has pretty good range, stability and reload speed. This weapon also has some good exotic perks including Monte Carlo Method and Markov Chain. Monte Carlo Method allows for dealing damage reduces melee cooldown and Markov Chain increases damage through melee kills.

Suros Regime

Suros Regime is an Exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle that was introduced in Season 3 of Destiny 2. It’s a 600 rpm auto rifle. Perks include Suros Legacy where the bottom half of the mag deals extra damage, Spinning Up where the rate of fire gets faster when you hold down the trigger.

Breakneck

breakneck

Breakneck comes with Rampage and Onslaught. Rampage allows you to stack damage as you get the kills and onslaught is the perfect combo as it increases the rate of fire for each rampage stack. Breakneck is a kinetic, primary auto rifle which is a 450 RPM auto rifle and has 34 in the magazine. It’s got good range and comes fully masterworked when it drops.

Valkadyn

This one is pretty easy to get as a random drop from the Gunsmith, so hand in those weapon parts and open a few engrams to get this one. This one is a 600 rpm energy slot Auto Rifle that comes with a rapid-fire frame. Under Pressure is a good roll, I’ve got one with Snapshot Sights and High Impact Reserves.

Steelfeather Repeater

Steelfeather Repeater is an auto rifle that came from Season of Dawn, so hopefully, you picked this one up while donating that fractaline. It’s a 720 Rapid-Fire frame Auto Rifle which can drop with vorpal weapon and feeding frenzy.
