Destiny 2 – How to get Randy’s Throwing Knife (Ritual Crucible Weapon)
Randy’s Throwing Knife is the Ritual Weapon for Crucible introduced during Season of Undying in Destiny 2. This is a nice rapid-fire scout rifle that’ll do some real damage in PVP and is well worth your time in going through the pursuit to get it.
Randy’s Throwing Knife is a useful Scout Rifle and was introduced when Scouts were buffed during the Shadowkeep expansion. Scout rifles are still pretty lethal in the right hands and as this one is a fast RPM you’re likely to take out multiple guardians in PVP.
To get started with this weapon you’ll need to head to Shaxx in the Tower and pick up the quest ‘Reconnaissance by Fire’. The first step of this quest is called Field of View and you’ll have to complete three tasks which include:
- Scout Rifle final blows
- Earn 2,100 Glory
- Enemies defeated and medals
The best way to get this done fast is to find a scout rifle you like and head into the crucible and just get going – if Momentum Control is a playlist the week you want to do this then even better, as Scout Rifle final blows will come a lot easier and faster in this mode. It may seem like slow progress to begin, but keep going and you’ll get there.
I found myself looking at the bar going “COME ON…, go up dammit” on a few occasions. What I’d recommend if possible, is actually not checking the % meter. Put on some music or some podcasts and get into the rhythm of a few crucible games. I managed to knock out 100% in a few hours.
You’re going to get faster progress here with multi-kills, so if you can try and group up with your teammates, get some kills and then mop up when you get the opportunity. The odd double and triple kill are really going to speed up progress. Not easy, but give it a try.
Some Scout Rifles you could use include Symmetry, Jade Rabbit, Imperative, Wrong Side of Right, and Polaris Lance. Personally, I like my Rapid Fire Frame Nightwatch which I got from the Reckoning.
For the Glory points, you’re going to have to earn these in Competitive PVP (for example Survival or Survival Freelance). This means you have to only earn the points, it doesn’t matter if you lose them – so you don’t lose progress like some other pinnacle quests. Paired with the freelance survival mode, this makes the glory points part of the quest a bit easier than it was in the past.
Once you have completed these requirements, head back to Shaxx in the Tower and pick up Randy’s Throwing Knife!
Randy’s Throwing Knife is a 260 RPM Scout Rifle which makes it one of the fastest with Symmetry, which is Exotic. It’s a Rapid Fire Frame scout which gives you faster reload speed and fires in full auto with deeper ammo reserves. It’s got 45 impact and stability and pretty good aim assist on the hidden stats.
For the perks, we have Rapid Hit or Snapshot Sights and that can be paired with Zen Moment or Kill Clip. These are all good perks that go together nicely, I’m into Snapshot Sights and Kill Clip.
Now you’ve got Randy’s, hop into PVP and give it a go.
