Ace of Spades is an Exotic Kinetic Hand Cannon that was introduced during the Forsaken Expansion in Destiny 2. It’s a fitting tribute to Cayde-6 and is a useful hand cannon for both PVP and PVE. The following is a guide for how to get Ace of Spades in Destiny 2.
You’ll need to own Forsaken and have completed the campaign for access to the quest. Once you finish Forsaken’s opening mission Last Call you’ll want to then visit the Gunsmith in the Tower who will give you the pursuit Cayde’s Will.
Finish the Forsaken Story Missions
The first step of the quest is to finish up the Forsaken story missions. This may sound like a grind but it’s one fo the best stories in Destiny 2 as you find out more about Cayde-6 and Uldren. Once you finish the campaign you’ll pick up the broken Ace of Spades from Uldren and you’ll then want to take that back to the tower and give it to the Gunsmith, Banshee-44.
Return to the Tower
Go back to the Tower and take the broken hand cannon to Banshee-44.
Kill Gambit invaders and enemies
For the next step of the quest head into Gambit and kill enemies or invading guardians. When this was first released you had to kill invaders only, which was a real pain in the bum. Now you can kill enemies while a Guardian is invading, making this step much easier to complete.
Pick a hand cannon you enjoy using, personally I like Spare Rations or Thorn so I used those throughout this step of the quest. Defeating invaders does count more towards progress, so simply keep killing and fill up that bar to move onto the next step of the quest.
Kill 250 enemies in strikes
Next up you’ll want to run strikes and get 250 hand cannon kills with a hand cannon. You can either pick your favourite strikes from the Director or you can run the strike playlist. Pick the option that works best for you, load up with your favourite hand cannon and collect those 250 kills.
25 precision kills in the crucible
For the next step of the quest load up the crucible and you’ll want to get 25 precision kills with a hand cannon. This may be the hardest step of the quest, especially if you don’t like a crucible. But keep plugging away and eventually, those precision kills will come.
Find the Cayde’s Cache locations
For the final step of the quest, you’ll need to find Cayde’s personal stashes throughout the solar system. There’s 4 to find on EDZ, Io, Nessus and the Tangled Shore. These hidden caches are very cool and a nice send-off to Cayde-6 as he leaves you some voice messages with some funny stories and theories who might have killed him. When you get close to the caches they start glowing which helps you find them, although each one is hidden in a little nook and cranny somewhere on a planet in the system.
EDZ – Land in the Sunken Isles and find the door to the left of the ship. Follow the path around until you get to Legions Anchor. Keep yourself on the ground, head through to the next hangar and the cache is on the left.
Io – Go to Terrabase Charon near the Lost Oasis and go towards the canyon. Go through the door and keep going forward until you get to the Wraith Mines. The cache you’re looking for is above you and you can either climb up the rocks or head up round the path, although the rocks are going to be the quickest way. Once you’re up on the next level you’ll see the cache in the far corner.
Nessus – Fly into the Exodus Black location and go to the right down into the cave. Go through the cave, ignoring the portal at the end and go through and down to the right to the Sunken Canyon. The cache can be found on the other side on the ledge.
Tangled Shore – Head into the Jetsam of Saturn and go south through the passage until you get to Hellrise Canyon. Go through the passage until you get to the ship on the ground, the cache will be there on the left. Now you have all the caches it’s time to complete the final mission.
Complete ‘Ace in the Hole’ mission
Head to Titan and you want to complete the mission which can be selected from the director. Run through the mission, beat the boss at the end and then head back to the tower.
Speak to Banshee-44
Return to the Tower and pick up Ace of Spades from the Gunsmith.
Ace of Spades
Ace of Spades is an exotic kinetic hand cannon which is 140 RPM and 13 in the magazine. It’s got 84 impact stats and 78 in range, making this a useful hand cannon good in PVP and PVE.
The intrinsic perk is Memento Mori, which gives you some extra damage bullets when you reload after a kill. You also get firefly, meaning precision kills with this weapon increase reload speed and cause the target to explode, dealing solar damage to enemies in close proximity.
Let me know down in the comments what you think of the Last Word in Destiny 2 and what you thought of the quest.
