Apostate was introduced during Destiny 2 Shadowkeep. This is a handy sniper and with the right rolls you’ll be taking out Guardians in the Crucible one by one. Good for PVP in general with the right rolls, but the god roll is going to be a lethal addition to the arsenal in the upcoming Trials of Osiris. The following is a guide for how to get Apostate.
You can get the Apostate on the Moon by taking part in the Altars of Sorrow mode, where you kill waves of enemies until you reach a final boss. Each day you have a chance at a new weapon and there’s 3 in total – Apostate Sniper Rifle, Heretic Rocket Launcher, and Blasphemer Shotgun. All are good in their own right, however, Apostate is up there with the best of them. If you need to know which weapon is available today then do a quick search and there’s plenty of website or Reddit posts with the information.
You’ll need to complete waves in the Altars of Sorrow and then open the chest at the end to get the weapon to drop. You’re guaranteed a weapon to drop, although you’re not guaranteed the curated roll. Although it seems the curated rolls drop more often here in this mode as I’ve got a curated Apostate and curated Heretic too, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll get something good.
The Apostate Sniper is great in PVP. It’s a rapid-fire frame Sniper which deals arc damage and fits in the Energy weapon slot. It’s got great handling and Reload Speed stats, allowing you to pop off quick shots in PVP. Some great perks for this weapon include Full Bore, Accurized Rounds, Moving Target, Snapshot Sights, Quick Draw, Box Breathing.
The curated roll states rapid hit, shield disorient, extended mag, accurized rounds and fluted barrel. However, this can also drop with moving target and range finder, which might be better than shield disorient.
Let me know down in the comments what you think of Apostate. Is this something you’re going to be using in Trials or do you prefer other snipers – let me know.
