Destiny 2 – How to get Revoker (Pinnacle Crucible Weapon)

Revoker is the pinnacle crucible weapon that was introduced during the Season of Opulence for Destiny 2 and is a useful Legendary Sniper Rifle with a unique perk called Reversal of Fortune that gives you a bullet back in the mag if you miss a shot. It sounds good, and this is going to be super valuable in PVP whether you like to play casual Quickplay or Competitive Survival or the upcoming Trials of Osiris. This is a guide for how to get Revoker.

As this is a pinnacle weapon, it’s going to take a little grinding and expect to make lots of sniper kills in this quest. It’s a unique sniper with some useful perks and is going to be handy in the upcoming Trials of Osiris, which is coming back to Destiny 2 very soon.

First of all, you’ll want to go and visit Lord Shaxx in the Tower and pick up the quest for this gun. It’s called In Your Sights. There are three parts to this quest and they are as follows:

  • 300 sniper rifle kills in crucible matches
  • 50 sniper precision kills in crucible matches
  • Get 3500 Glory points (competitive PVP)

For the 300 sniper kills you can get these in quickplay. However, if you do this in Competitive (e.g. Survival) or Iron Banner then 1 kill will actually mean 2 points, whereas in Quickplay 1 kill will mean one point. As you have to get 3500 glory points for the final step, you may as well do this in competitive. However, it’s up to you and whatever you like to play. 300 sniper kills maybe easier in quickplay, just be aware you’re going to be in there twice as long.

3500 Glory points are interesting. This means you have to obtain 3500 points. Unlike Glory rankings, where when you lose your rank goes down, here you won’t lose progress. So as long as your gaining Glory points in competitive crucible matches then this is going to go up. Throughout the season my Glory rank goes up and down all the time as I play matches, but progress on getting 3500 glory points won’t go down.

In terms of tips for getting the 300 sniper kills I spent a lot of time in a crucible playlist called Momentum Control. This is a PVP playlist that isn’t there every week, but when it is there it’s useful for these Pinnacle weapon grinds as enemies take much less damage to kill them. By playing in Momentum Control it’s going to be much easier and faster to get those 300 kills you need.

The key to this is finding a sniper you enjoy using. Something with Snapshot Sights or Quickdraw is going to be good. There’s plenty of options here including Beloved, Supremacy, Twilight Oath or Apostate. Find a sniper you’re comfortable with and just hang out in crucible for a little while and those kills will come. It may be worth playing a few games of elimination to get ready for the upcoming Trials of Osiris.

Once you meet the 3 requirements then head back to Shaxx to pick up your brand new Revoker Sniper Rifle.

The main perk on this weapon is called Reversal of Fortune. If you miss a shot then it’s going to add another bullet back in the chamber a few seconds after. This one also comes fully masterworked and also comes with snapshot sights. It’s one of the slower snipers at 72 rpm and there’s 3 in the magazine.

Other than Reversal of Fortune perk, the range and the impact stats on this weapon are what sets it apart from the rest. It’s got 90 impact and 80 range on its base stats, which is going to make this very useful indeed. Couple that with Reversal of Fortune which allows you to miss a shot and get the bullet reloaded into the mag, this gun is going to be essential in PVP and make your lives much easier. This is shown in the current meta for competitive PVP with Revoker being the most used gun with 4.61% usage, 5.14% of all kills in competitive and a headshot ratio of 9.67%. Looking at these stats a lot of Guardians are going to be using this in the upcoming Trials of Osiris, so get grinding on that In Your Sights quest.

Whether you think this sniper is worth the grind is all down to personal preference. Personally, I prefer the faster rpm snipers but the Reversal of Fortune perk is a good one to have and could be useful in competitive PVP matches like survival or Trials of Osiris. It’s really up to you.

Let me know down in the comments what you think of Revoker and how you think this holds up against other pinnacle weapons. Is this something you’re going to be using in Trials or do you prefer other snipers – let me know.

That’s it for this guide on how to get Revoker. For more Destiny 2 content like this check out the Shadowkeep Guide or check out the YouTube Channel.
