Video games can be expensive. Games generally cost around £50 ($60) when they’re released on PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch. However, there are deals out there and you can get some great games much cheaper and sometimes if you’re lucky, they’re free. I thought I’d round up some of the best places to find video game deals to help you save some money and still enjoy some top gaming experiences.

Is There Any Deal? You bet there is with this website which aggregates the best deals from around the web and presents them to you. On the homepage, they highlight top deals and allow you to browse by time, trending or game rating. A fantastic website for those on a budget and should definitely be in any gamers bookmarks.

This is a website for UK audiences highlighting great local deals. The website aggregates the best deals and you can browse by platform and retailer.
Steam
Steam has a summer sale in June and then another in winter during December. Here you can find a load of deals. Here’s a countdown timer to the next Steam sale.
Epic Games Store
Epic has been making waves recently on the PC platform with its Epic Games Store. Not everyone is happy with them coming in and buying up the competition. However, they have had some good deals on and offer a nice opportunity for those who want to game on a budget. They’ve been giving away free games including Axiom Verge, Thimbleweed Park and Rime.
Nintendo eShop Sales
Nintendo offers some great deals on their eShop on Nintendo Switch. Games can be slashed by up to 75% in some cases and you can pick up games for less than £1. Great indie games that have been on sale recently include Owlboy, Dead Cells and Overcooked 2.
There are a few accounts to follow on Twitter too if you want to find a good deal. As well as the accounts mentioned above @Wario64 stands out as the DelBoy (or ‘Deal Finder’) of Twitter.
Free to play games
There are some great free to play games out there including Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warframe, Dauntless, Paladins, EVE Online, League of Legends, Dota 2, Brawlhalla, Tetris 99, Smite and Path of Exile. These are just a few of the great free-to-play games out there.
