Nintendo E3 2019 Round-Up

Nintendo held their E3 Nintendo Direct and they brought their A game.

New Super Smash Bros Ultimate characters were announced first up with The Hero from Dragon Quest Hero making an appearance. You can select one of five Dragon Quest heroes to play in Smash. They are coming later in 2019.

Link’s Awakening was revealed earlier in the year and we got more gameplay and the news that you’ll be able to create a dungeon in Chamber Dungeon. We don’t have too many details on how the dungeon builder mode will work but it may have been added off the back of very successful Zelda randomiser mods on Twitch. Link’s Awakening is coming to Nintendo Switch September 20th 2019. We got a whole bunch of new footage we hadn’t seen before.

The Collection Of Mana was announced which includes Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3), Final Fantasy Adventure and the Super Nintendo version of Secret of Mana. This completes a Seiken Densetsu trilogy, with the third not seen int he west before. In a big surprise the game is available on Nintendo eShop right away!

The Witcher 3 coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019. There were rumours that this was coming but some thought the game wouldn’t be able to run on a Switch.

Animal Crossing was finally confirmed by Nintendo. The game will be called New Horizons and have been delayed to 20th March 2020. Originally the game was scheduled for a 2019 release date, however, it’s been put back for a little more polish.

Banjo-Kazooie was confirmed as a new character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The reveal including Donkey Kong, Diddy and King K. Rool with the Dunk Hunt Dog & Duck faking out the audience – only for Banjo-Kazooie to jump in and reveal themselves.

Nintendo had ‘one more thing’ at the end of their press conference and it was a headliner. Breath Of The Wild Sequel is in development! The trailer showed Link and Zelda exploring together and the game looks dark and twisted, much like Majora’s Mask compared to Ocarina Of Time.

Other games were announced too including

  • Cadence of Hyrule June 13th 2019
  • Astral Chain August 30th 2019
  • Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age 29th September 2019
  • Daemon X Machina September 2019
  • Contra Rogue Corps September 2019
  • Panzer Dragoon Winter 2019
  • Luigi’s Mansion 3 2019
  • Resident Evil 5 and 6 2019
  • Alien Isolation 2019
  • No More Heroes 3 2020

Nintendo did a great job with their E3 press conference this year. I asked you what the most exciting announcement was and you came back with Breath Of The Wild Sequel.
